Stopped here for lunch on the way into Maine. Cute indoor and outdoor seating with friendly staff. Ordered a Build your own sandwich and a turkey avocado. Delicious bread (especially the focaccia) and when I realized they left off the avocado they quickly got me some. Excellent coffee too. Not far off the highway and a convenient place to get breakfast, lunch or pastries.

I was walking around kittery looking for the best food and this came up in my yelp search. I took a quick 15 minute walk around and was overwhelmed with the number of options. Thankfully, the kind woman working behind the counter was nice enough to give me some recommendations. I knew I had to get the Fougasse because it was literally edible art. But then I wanted some little desserts to bring back to the wife and mother in law. I was recommended the sesame cashew bar and the lemon ginger snap cookies. Both of which I very much enjoyed! The Fougasse was my favorite, I'm a sucker for rosemary and olive oil studded bread.. The cashew bar was texturally interesting and very fun. I kept going back for more. I wasn't terribly impressed with the flavor of it overall, I thought it was a little on the sweet side and could have used a more nutty, deep flavor. Maybe some toasted sesame sticks would be a good addition to this? Or maybe just a less sweet shortbread crust that leans more into the nutty vs the sweet. Either way, I'm glad I tried it but I'd try something else next time. The lemon ginger snap was also great. I loved that the ginger snaps were crisp not soft baked. I do wish the lemon filling was much more lemony though, but that's just a preference of mine. Again, I'd try something else next time. Hopefully if you're reading this you caught the "next time" because there will be a next time! Beach pea is churning out quality and I'm here for it. When I visit again, I'll surely be back to try another sampling!

Perfectly fine. We stopped in on a busy Sunday after shopping at a few nearby businesses in the are, looking for lunch. We had never been to Beach Pea Baking before but by the looks of the people sitting outside eating their lunches, good things were to be found inside. It was very busy and fast moving inside, there was not time to think or peruse and the place seemed to be filled with regulars who knew exactly what they wanted and in what way they wanted it. All of this is great IF you are a regular and are ready set GO when you get to the register. I would not consider myself a massive dawdler when ordering (most of the time) but wow, did I feel rushed. I got up to the counter and...hi...ill take a....tuna sandwich! My order was processed within seconds and the sandwich came out within a reasonable amount of time. It was ok.

My mom and I stopped in for a couple of salads at lunch. I ordered the harvest vegetable salad with chicken. There were roasted zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, and sweet potato with goat cheese and nuts. FANTASTIC!!! My mom got the apple grove salad and enjoyed hers too. Wishes the whole cashews were candied and cut into slivers or something like that. Two salads came to $31 total and came out within 10 minutes. Very friendly service and cute location for a lunch date.

After sampling $70 worth of breads, croissants, cookies, and even a sandwich in one day, I can say "What a fabulous bakery!" The croissants have a beautiful honeycomb crumb. Crispy on the outside and light and airy inside. Luckily, I grabbed the last raspberry croissant of the day. I can understand why they are so popular. The bit of jam is a perfect touch of sweetness. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious. My daughter ordered the Fresh Mozzarella, Basil, and Tomato sandwich. Served in a big, chewy baguette, it was a very filling sandwich. Even despite the fact that it's March, the tomato was very red and very thick. They don't skimp on the cheese either. She loved her sandwich so much, she wants me to return again tomorrow to buy her another. The cookies are big ass cookies. They're sold for $3+ which is pretty standard for bakery cookies, but these cookies are ginormous. There are cakes in the cooler that I still want to try. Perfect since I have to return for a sandwich again. Maybe this time, we'll stick around long enough to eat inside.

Quaint bakery with a wonderful selection of pastries, cookies , breads, sandwiches and drinks. We stopped in for an afternoon sweet treat. We got two cookies, chocolate chip and double chocolate chip, which was gluten free, and a lemon square. The cookies were enormous and the lemon square tart and sweet. The entire time we were there , there was a steady flow of customers. We did not try their breads, but most customers were buying them and they looked so fresh and good.

Fogasse...super delicious bread with olive oil and rosemary. Looks like the tree of life. Now this is a great way to break bread!!

This is clearly a local favorite because it was packed on Monday at noon!! They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads as well as breads, of course! We decided on the roasted vegetable salad with goat cheese, the turkey and avocado sandwich, and the everything bialy with basil pesto spread. All three of these were delicious!! Fresh ingredients, healthy, and satisfying. We also had the breakfast bar which was great with coffee. It's like a roll with nuts and cranberries. My absolute favorite thing was the fogasse...it's an oily herby bread kinda like a mix of focaccia and ciabatta. That thing made me say Whoa! when I took a bite. I'm warning you, it's deliciously addicting. The staff here is young but they were working hard and giving great service. The owner, Mariah, knows what she's doing and has a lot of happy customers to serve!! Highly recommend!!

Breads are amazing! Cheesecakes are my favorite dessert they carry. This place is always busy but it never takes long to get served.

The chili dog is SO good and the chili itself deserves its own fan club honestly. Everything tastes fresh, messy in the best way, and exactly what you want from a retro burger spot. It feels like a hidden little retro hangout where you can eat comfort food and actually have fun while you're there. Definitely one of those places that becomes a regular spot fast. Burger patties are wicked thin, fries are just some plain, frozen crap and the shake had a bizarre cookie coating around the top. Not the edge/rim, the whole like, 1/4 top of the cup was coated in crumbs.. which got everywhere and made it inedible and impossible to put in a cup holder if you wanted to bring it home with you. Just so weird. It's also just gross in there in general. To be honest, all of that would be forgivable if the staff were at least the slightest bit nice. They are all so incredibly rude. They are young and I get that Covid ruined their formidable socialization years, but it's actually crazy how awful they are. Can't even get them to crack a smile or a "thank you". Sorry, not to be a boomer, but if I'm spending 55 bucks on two burgers some fries and a shake, I'd like some good customer service. Definitely save your money. There are lots of other options in the area.

My wife was visiting a friend near by and my brother in law recommended we go here for pizza…read more Well it was a good recommendation for many reasons. First one was that there is plenty of parking. And plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather allows that. When we first got in the hostess told me it would be about 10 minutes, but we were welcome to sit and look at the menu till they called us for the table. It was only a 5 minute wait and at first I was surprised we couldn't just be served at the large high table at the entrance where we were seated and waiting which looked like it was for several parties or even one large party, but even when we were leaving that table was empty so I guess they either save it for a very large party or just for people to sit at while they wait for their table like we did. Either way we didn't wait long so that didn't bother me as I thought it might at first. When we were seated, service was extremely fast, so fast that at first I thought they just want us out. :p but they are just that good. And our waitress brought me my soda without ice which many servers forget and would get me a refill before I was even done with the soda and even asked if we wanted water as soon as we sat and bright us some. When the food arrived (which as I mentioned was extremely fast even though the place was packed), everything was amazing. We started with shrimp and the Brie which were in the specials. Shrimp was fresh and you could really tell, and the Brie had a nice assortment of apple slices, almond slices, bread and cranberries making it feel like you were also having a healthy meal with your pizza and fried food :p. We had the truffle mushroom pizza and the only complaint my mother had was that it had onions and rocket which she didn't like on the pizza, but that was her fault for not reading it on the menu as we could have easily just asked for it not to have that. She just saw truffle, mushrooms and ricotta cheese and said im having that. Which was what I wanted too but I was ok with everything else too. Well we both enjoyed it and I even took the left over pizza to have for dinner later :). I don't live nearby, but it is a place I would recommend to others who go by there and when we come near here again I know where to go eat if I'm in the mood for pizza. The only complaint is that it was too loud for us, almost felt like a sports bar without the sports tvs playing everywhere, however they do have take out as well, so you do have that option too if you live nearby.

Plenty of lot parking so that's always a plus. We walked in on Friday for lunch and it was fairly full but we were seated quickly and orders taken. Very rustic ambience and service was quick. Unfortunately, the food was just ok and didn't knock my socks off. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, pork belly steam buns and the margherita pizza. Brussels were fried nicely but the ginger sesame sauce was very strong and I would probably preferred the sauce on the side. Pork belly buns were just ok as well. We were here for the pizza so were excited to try it - pizza unfortunately was just ok as well. Food is subjective and always based on preference so please take this review with a grain of salt - pizza was a bit doughier than I'd like - I prob should've asked for it to be well done if even possible and the sauce tasted heavy on the oregano - not something I'm a big fan of. All in all - not bad but not great. I just had such high expectations - maybe a different pizza might've changed my mind. But def don't skip out on going next door to try some samples and get some bread - the bread is amazingly delicious.

Yum! Yum! Chicken salad!…read more Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and the place had plenty of seating. We decided to dine in their nice patio area because it was such a nice day out. Everything on their menu looked delicious and I couldn't decide between a burger or a sandwich. The nice waiter recommended their chicken salad and since I was already looking at that sandwich it made my choice easier. My bf got their Cuban sandwich and since neither entrees came with fries we decided to share an order of their thick cut fries. They also have a variety of beers on tap and canned beverages. I went with one of their local draft dark beers and it was very good. When the food came out it looked very appetizing. Their house coleslaw was extra delicious and super crunchy. The chicken salad tasted great and it was very well seasoned and I really loved the big chunks of chicken! The Cuban sandwich was also very good from the one bite I stole from my boyfriend. And the fries were soooo good! I was a perfect lunch date!
