Coming from California I have found burritos outside of the state not up to par, but this place did a pretty good job of satisfying my craving. I only ate the chips and guacamole here, so I don't know how the rest of their food is, but what I ordered was great! A good portion of guacamole on top, with salsa and the chips are seasoned - it was delicious! Perfect snack for just coming off the beach, which is right across the street. Beach Burrito offers a wide selection of choices such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos and anything else Mexican to fuel your stomachs desires. They are famous for their burrito bowls which I have had in the past and are jam packed full of all the good stuff. This time I ordered some tacos. I ordered Chilli Con Carne, Pulled Pork, Pulled Seasoned Beef and a grilled fish taco. Lot of tacos but was hungry hungry. The pulled pork and beef were both delicious and the lime on top added the extra kick. Flavours worked well together and plenty of meat. The grilled fish was ok. The fish was a bit lost in the taco and the added ingredients offered more flavour. Chilli Con Carne taco was my favourite of the lot good flavours and left you wanting more of it. The place is really funky and laid back and it's easy to just relax and forget about where you have to be next and opt for a couple of beers or cocktails and worry about later, much later. This was the first place in Sydney that I came across burritos before the big burrito boom of the last couple of years started to take place. From my first ricey, meaty, beany, saucey bite, I was hooked! I haven't had a BBC burrito for a while now, as living near Kings Cross means I have easy access to 2 other options and a trip to Bondi just for a wrap seems a little irrational (but not to say improbable). The burritos seem a little more expensive here ($14.95 for the Mucho Burrito) but you do get guacamole which you'd usually have to pay $2 for anyway, so it's not that much different. They also have a selection of tasty beverages, including buckets of Caronas ($30 - or $6 each) and frozen margaritas ($10), and who doesn't like a frozen margarita! And though I'm more of a margarita, cevice and tofu+slow-roasted veggie taco type of gal, I'm well catered for as well. In fact, the menu is surprisingly comprehensive with all of your traditional favourites as well as some untraditional and even health-conscious choices for the Bondi beefcakes running amuck. We stopped by as some of the other cafe's were closed. My partner got a burrito and i got the burrito bowl. Order and pay at the cashier and they will bring out your food. Service was quick came out just over 5 minutes. My burrito bowl was made out of a taco shell which i was cool. After hearing sooo many good things about Beach Burrito, I had to give it a go.. I finally had that chance over the weekend! Despite having to wait approximately 10 minutes to order and a further 20 minutes for it to be made (at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, the crew were very busy with locals, tourists and visitors to bondi), I can say it was worth the wait. I chose to go with the Chipotle Chicken burrito (at $13.95 isn't cheap, however it was huge), and was well pleased with my choice.. Initially, there was a sweetness before that usual hum kicked in from the chipotle peppers; the mexican rice and black beans topped off what was an awesome meal, which i'd give an 8.5/10! My mate went with a cheese quesadilla and tempura fish burrito; he rate the quesadilla a 10/10, however was a little disappointed with his burrito (5/10), however i suggest that was a result of it resting on the boot of his car while he ate the quesadilla. One word, mucho! The Mexican here is pretty good large in size and satisfying to taste. The menu is substantial and offers numerous options to ensure you have a reason to return and try something different including fajita burritos, quesadillas, nachos, chilli fries, tacos, taquitos, burrito bowls and salads. The standard burrito is the 'Mucho' burrito - which has a bit of everything. We ordered a Mucho burrito each and were extra hungry on this occasion so ordered some nacho's to go with. Needless to say it was enough to keep us satisfied until late in the night (considering this was lunch). The burritos here are big, foil wrapped morsels of deliciousness delivered on a paper covered plastic tray to catch any inevitable stray bits. The flavours of pulled pork, beef, chicken and chilli con carne meld well with the bean, rice, and some obligatory salad and salsa. You can increase the heat with a selection of hot sauces too. Thirsty? The BBC serves frozen margaritas and beers of a Mexican persuasion, in addition to a number of non-alcoholic beverages. Or plain old water is available by the glass/bottle free of charge. Situated in a great location across from the North end of Bondi beach, the restaurant has numerous benches at which to sit, and some outdoor seating; a great location to indulge in some additional beers in the afternoon sun. Takeaway is also good here, with generous portions wrapped and provided in brown paper bags. Don't forget to ask for some hot sauce if your ordering takeaway. As a last note these are perhaps not the cheapest burritos in town (the Mucho weighs in at $14.95), but the quality and quantity are well justified by the price. read more

A very handy tip is that they serve tacos for $3 every Tuesday and even better, $2 on the last Tuesday of every month! So good! They're flavour combinations are interesting and varied for example options include chicken, beef, pork, fish, prawn, vegetable and haloumi. I got the haloumi and prawn tacos. The haloumi isn't a common flavour seen in taco dishes but it really worked! The salsa and other nice surprises inside added depth and flavour. Impressive! It's beachy and casual and perfect for that post paddle-induced hunger 2) They use actual Mexican rice in their burritos 3) They use black beans (which I swear to god didn't exist in Australia) 4) They have a catch-all burrito with pulled seasoned beef, slow roasted green chilli pork, chipotle chicken, chilli con carne, mexican rice, black beans, blended cheese, smokey salsa, green chilli salsa, green onion, lettuce, guacamole and sour cream. The Beach Burrito Company has been my local go to burrito joint for many years now, mainly because I live a few minutes away and the view is great! I'll be honest with you, the food is nothing exceptional. I mean, it's great but there is nothing notable I can say that makes it stand out from all the other Mexican, burrito-bearing restaurants. How it does stand out is its location, over-looking Sydney's iconic beach, Bondi. It is the perfect place to have dinner after a day in the sun, or pop in for a take-away treat and head back to the sand. They have awesome frozen margaritas, which I can't help but get every single time. Also, you can get buckets of Corona's to share around the table. It's a very friendly place that is best enjoyed with friends. Like most Mexican restaurants, you can get chicken, beef, fish or vegetarian. There is plenty of beans, rice and yummy salsas. If you're looking for an exceptional burrito, this is not the place. If you're looking for a tasty bite and a place to hang out with friends, look no further. read more

The rise of the Mexican Taqueria is taking Sydney by storm. In the last couple of years we've seen more than a few of these places pop up in a very cool way. Bondi Beach Burrito Co. has to be the coolest of them all. The swarms of Bondi beauties that spill out onto the street, taco and frozen margarita in hand make this place much more chic than it really is. The interior is sort of kitsch with tequila and other such Mexican clichés in abundance but that adds to its cool factor. Location wise, BBC is unbeatable, right across the road from North Bondi. To be honest it is more a Californian interpretation of Mexican food than real authentic Mexican (for example, the Tempura Fish Burrito) but really, it tastes damn good, so who cares? We are native Texans, living in Oz, and we really like this place. It may not be completely authentic Tex-Mex, but it's still really good! We like the chicken burrito in a bowl...a flaky, crispy taco shell bowl full of rice, beans, salad, chicken, and topped with sour cream and guac. At first glance the food here looks good but once you start eating it you realize how terrible it really is. Along with two of my friends I dined here this afternoon for lunch. We ordered the nachos, a macho burrito bowl, and a flying pig burrito bowl. The nachos came with a very strange colored meat which was sort of smashed on to about 15 chips, the plate looked very unappetizing. The chips were soaked all the way through and were so soggy the mess had to be eaten with a spoon. The lettuce on the macho burrito was old and brown(ish) and slimy. Both burrito bowls initially appear full of fillings but after two bites we realized both were filled about 2/3rds with bland, tasteless rice, which was only to make them appear full. Overall, you pay close to $20 for a plate of cheap, substandard food. I will not go back nor would I recommend this place to my friends or family. read more

One of my favorite Mexican joints ! Delicious food , highly recommend the taquito's. They have delicious Mexican beers and frozen margaritas and the atmosphere is always buzzing but is particularly fun on a Wednesday night. Have to get in early though as tables can be hard to get! After a long day in the sun, surf and sand, there's nothing I like better than nipping across the road to grab a burrito. They have a wide range of Mexican things such as burritos, quesadilla, tacos, nachos, Coronas and margaritas. The only problem is that the queue can get quite long, although at least I suppose that gives you plenty of time to decide what you want. When I went for dinner, we spent at least 15 minutes queuing to order, and there was then some confusion with our order and its delivery to our table. I suppose we had to wait around half an hour, but this wasn't a big deal because the restaurant had a nice vibe and was obviously busy. When the food did arrive, it was delicious. I had a fabulous lime chilli prawn salad - a very generous serving of prawns dressed with mango chutney, salad, tomato, onion and guacamole and served in a crisp tortilla bowl. It was delicious. My friend had the chicken quesadilla, which she greatly enjoyed, commenting particularly that it was nice because it didn't go soggy. The guacamole was amazing - it tasted homemade and they were very generous with the servings. Washed down with a Corona, it was a perfect meal. I love the relaxed feeling you get from this restaurant - I get the impression that they're very used to sand and wouldn't mind people turning up in bathers and thongs. Okay so i was born and raised in LA. So I know good Mexican food. I also understand this is Australia. But ZAMN.. So when I walked in, I ordered a burrito. I asked For refried beans instead of black beans.. they said they didn't have any.. like ever.. weird af.. lolll andddd they have a "non spicy" portion of the menu.. lolll a Mexican restaurant with a "non spicy menu" is this a joke? SOOO Anyway... I'm looking around and the food didn't look like Mexican food. So I wanted to leave, my friends were calling me anyway. (You only live once! and I'm not going to spend 20 mins OF MY LIFE! paying for expensive fake Mexican food.) So With that being said.. I asked for my money back. (they didn't even start my order yet ) The cashier wanted answers as to why, I wanted MY money back. I said I had to go. Even showed him a text that my friend sent me. He was still being extra af. I was pretty excited to try this place. A friend from home told me that, while she hadn't been there, it should be legit because it was owned by a guy from San Francisco. SF doesn't have the greatest Mexican food in the world, but I figured it had to be decent-or at least better than anything else Oz was putting out... I rocked up to the joint, scoped the menu, and ordered a carne asada burrito. After ordering, I chatted with the cashier, asking if the establishment actually was owned by a guy from home. He gave me a puzzled look before saying, "Nah mate, he LIVED in San Francisco for awhile..." That's not the same at all, is it. The burrito was small (by US standards) and was kind of pricey for what you got. It also didn't have much flavour and was kind of dry. Really, the most enjoyment from it was watching my Kiwi friend squirm under the "spice" of Tapatio sauce. It's alright if you're around, I guess...but don't go out of your way for it.... read more

Baja fish burrito completely lacked any seasoning, barely a smidge of white sauce (it should be dripping). Also stingy on fish. Had to order guac for moisture and then i got less than a tbsp for $3.
