Have you ever found yourself walking down the street of a beach town at 10:30 p.m. thinking "Man - I could really go for a macaroon, an espresso and a great live band right about now?" If this situation strikes in Westhampton Beach, The Beach Bakery's got your back. They do an equally good job with daytime baked goods as well. Pastries, bagels, cookies of all varieties...everything I've tried has been SO very delicious and SO very bad for me. They make a good cup of coffee, move a lot of people through in a decent timeframe, and have honestly not overpriced themselves to the extent that they could. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is an epic bathroom fail. The singe unisex at the top of a very steep flight of stairs prides itself (complete with braggy informational poster) on having an eco-friendly, never-smelling, water-free urinal - the first in the Hamptons! Yay! On my most recent visit, a Post It Note reading "Do Not Use" was stuck right under the poster. Even worse, it had been ignored to fairly horrifying results that did not get cleaned up in the 3 hours I spent at the bakery. Good coffee shop& bakery. Coffee is alway fresh and piping hot. Good selection of morning pasties and muffins always good. Lots of cakes and loaf breads but have not tried any of them. Fresh! Went there on a Monday in May at 11:30am. Big place! Bakery/Cafe. Still serving breakfast until noon. About 10 tables inside and about 10 tables outside. Ordered the challah bread French toast w/fruit compost. Excellent! Not soggy, not sweet. Good portion. My friend ordered the smoked salmon omelet. Excellent! They certainly fill up the omelet. Even the side order of fresh fruit was fresh! The homemade raspberry ice tea was good! Not sweet. We decided to buy some things from the bakery section on our way out. They sell pies by the slice. They raspberry/peach pie a little soggy. Chocolate macaroons fresh! Fried raspberry croissant excellent! The apples in the apple tart/pastry could have cooked 2 minutes longer - a little hard. We were exploring the neighborhood, since my sister is moving here, and came across this little gem. On a main street that has a very Laguna beach vibe to it. Place is all self-serve, and yes, you clean your tables of all the food after you are done. If you can get past that, not a big deal, this place is absolutely a brunch heaven. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, and yummy. Coffee was great. EVERYTHING hit the spot. Owner came up to us, introduced himself, made us feel right at home. A woman next to me was returning a pie she purchased for approx $35--a very unhappy customer. Said it was runny and not worth the price. No kidding. I came here before heading to the beach. The location is nice and classy, right on main street in Westhampton Beach. The interior is nice, but it doesn't make up for the price. It's a pretty expensive place to come and eat at, even just for some lunch. The food did taste pretty fresh, but a bit bland. I'd go back... if it were cheaper. read more

What a wonderful example of co-existence. If only the rest of the world could see and emulate this. The Beach Bakery was recently sold and although the previous owner, Simon, was a gentile, the bakery was certified Kosher. We were all concerned that it would remain so and so it has. The new owner is a practicing Muslim observing the laws of Halal. The menu remains the same, the ambience too, keeping to the same high standards we have enjoyed previously and come to expect. Rashid was gracious and friendly introducing himself to each and every customer whilst checking that the orders were being processed quickly and efficiently. He told us that it is also possible to pre-order, thereby cutting the line and just arriving in time to find a table and eat! His experience on running another restaurant and bakery has stood him in good stead for our Westhampton community. I urge you to go and try it for yourself! Oh man this was a wait! I grew frustrated waiting for breakfast in a Sunday morning at 9am. It was a 25 min wait but it seemed to take 40 min. I overheard the cashier tell people at 10am that the wait for food was 1 hour long. Screw that. I'll go somewhere else. It's not like there a huge selection anyway. The ranchero omelet I had was very good though but I get nasty when I'm hungry so no I won't be coming here for breakfast because I'm not waiting that long again. The Beach Bakery is a pretty expansive establishment full of some delicious looking items. Some people may wander in here, though, and practice a lookie no touchie policy because they're a bit overpriced for my liking. I stopped in here during work to grab myself some lunch. I ordered a sandwich that was, I'll admit, very fresh. Regardless, I have had better sandwiches from cheaper restaurants/delis/bakeries, so I can't say that my money was well spent here. The man who made my sandwich was incredibly pleasant, and it seemed as if he may have been the owner. I used to truly love Beach Bakery. I work in Quogue so I typically stop in for lunch almost everyday. All winter the girls that worked there were amazing! Around spring prices started to change which was strange as l get the same thing everyday, yet I was charged a different price. After Easter I noticed it was all new workers and ordering a simple tuna salad on a poppy seed bagel got more and more difficult. We had found out they got new management and things started making a little bit more sense. Finally the last straw was today I walked in the new manager who is barely there was in for once along with his maybe 7 year old son. He was at the counter not a hello or anything then proceeded to walk in the back and ignore us. A girl who clearly started working today started our order which she was confused on how to make ..... When ringing me up I was charged .75 cents to toast my bagel and another .75 cents to pay with my debt card. That alone made me change my mind about coming back but it wasn't until I got in the car and saw my bagel that I made my final choice. The bagel barely had a half of scoop of tuna salad on it and it wasn't even toasted!!! I miss the old beach bakery this new manager/owner is rude and horrible at running a food related business. My wife and I visit Westhampton Beach once a year to see a favorite band of ours at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. Because we go during the off-season, there aren't many restaurants open in Westhampton Beach, but that's no problem because we always have the Beach Bakery Cafe. Being vegetarians, the BBC is perfect for us, as there is no beef or chicken on the premises. So if we order one of our favorite vegetarian dishes, we can rest easy knowing it isn't cooked in animal grease left on the grill. *Note: They do serve fish, but because of common seafood allergies, it is usually cooked separately to avoid cross-contamination. Our favorite so far is the portabello mushroom burger, which is essentially a very tasty portabello chopped and formed into a patty and served on a really good bun. There's also a straight veggie burger and several other veggie items. FYI, the BBC is also Kosher. For breakfast (we stay at a nearby B&B), the pancake and egg dishes are also just right. Portions are ample, though not overloaded, but the good news is that, despite this being "The Hayamtins," the prices are very reasonable. We've also had dessert here after a show and the choices are many and delicious. Best of all, the Beach Bakery Cafe is about a minute's walk from the theater. And even though you can tell right away that this is a neighborhood place where everybody knows everybody, you can expect to be treated like a welcomed guest. read more

As soon as I walked in, the joint was crowded and I was slammed into by over 5 different people. then I waited 10 minutes for someone to take my breakfast order. the place was very unorganized. after I placed my order, they said a half hour at most. it then took 1.5 hours. we orders at 1030 and didn't get our food till 12. they also ran out of French toast which is ubsure. after all it is a bakery, and surprising that they are out of bread and eggs. after the food came, i realized that all of our orders were missing stuff and were not what we ordweed so that was disappointin. the table was also disgusting. it was sticky and musty. horrible place and will never go again. the only reason that they get business is because they are the only place in town. it was a dirty, unorganized dump. I had an awful experience. on top of that the outdoor table that we had claimed by placing our belonging on the was taken by other customers. disgusting. read more

People working behind the counter don't know what they're doing sometimes, I was waiting in line (theres no sign for a line at all everyone just crowds around the area cutting others off hoping they catch eye contact with a worker so god knows how I managed to identify it) and saw a guy with a iced macchiato coffee drink, and asked the worker for one and she said the bakery doesn't make those while the guy came up next to me and received it from the other worker? It was ridiculous , but I didn't bring it up because she sounded annoyed as well. I asked for a latte and when I drank it, it was lukewarm. Not even warm, just the tiniest bit of lukewarm. Used to be my favorite spot with friends, definitely going somewhere else for my study group. The only good part is the bakery. read more
