This spot holds so many wonderful memories for me. It was a favorite of both of my grandmothers over the years and so I have visited regularly on my trips to Westhampton. Honestly, I don't feel like the quality of the simple diner-style food, or the friendliness of the staff or the charm of the luncheonette itself has changed much since I was a little kid-and indeed, this restaurant is still owned by the same wonderful family! I have to give a special shout out for the Mac salad... if you are having a lunch item definitely pick this as your side! As always, everyone at my table, enjoyed all of the different dishes they ordered. As noted that staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for casual family meal-I think everyone could find some thing they would like on the menu!

Solid 3.5 It was just a solid good. Reminded me of meals I would get from my friend's grandparent's when we would visit them for lunch. One negative was their chicken and dumplings soup... I've never had dumplings the size of tiny pebbles and soup that had more cornstarch than chicken broth in it. But my kids enjoyed their pancakes, tuna melt and we left full and content. Not really a must stop designation more like an if you're in the area and you want a solid quick sit down kind of place.

The food was very tasty and unique at the restaurant I highly recommend. The Service was nice and quick about an average wait time for the food to come out and the workers were very respectful. The interior was 1911's theme I'm pretty sure and, it looked like some things in there like the flooring and antiques were from that time period. You all should come here!

I stopped here today for the first time with some coworkers for breakfast. I can't believe I haven't heard of this place before, it's been around for a while & is totally classic. You know, that old timey ice cream parlor/ brunch cafe feel. I went with a party of 4, we all ordered something different & everyone was very satisfied with their respective meals. I also asked them for a plain bagel toasted dark with just a little cream cheese, to go. The bagel was exactly how I ordered it & I was spared a nice cream cheese stain while driving. I will definitely be returning for a Sunday brunch in the near future. My recommendation? If you're near by stop here, if you're not near by... stop here.

Eckart's is essentially a diner, and it's a good one. This place is as charming as all get out (whatever 'all get out' actually means), and much cleaner than you'd think considering it's 100 years old.* The downside of being around for 100 years is that people have heard of you, and during the summer I'm sure waits are insane on the weekends. But in the winter, you should be able to get a table without much trouble. As far as I can tell, breakfast is the move. Eggs, toast, potatoes...they do it, and they do it well. I'd add a side of corned beef hash to anything you get, too. It's what's good. Actually, I might just ask for corned beef hash with a few eggs on top. When it comes to lunch, Big Ray is my dude. I don't know who he actually is, but he seems to like BBQ sauce, American cheese, and onion rings on everything, and I can get behind that. The only downside is that he seems to also like his burgers well done (even if you order them medium rare)...but that's kind of how diners roll. Corned beef hash. It was worth saying again. _______________ *When I'm 100 years old, I'm planning on being FILTHY. In more ways than one. I also plan on mainlining heroin, but that's a separate issue.

Ghetto Bathroom sink... Instead of fixing the handle, they left the cold water constantly running.

Service: Ok (3 stars) Food: Bad (1 Star) - Toast was very processed, not fresh, and had too soft a texture. Very bad. - Hash browns were overly fried slices of potatoes. - Breakfast is split into pieces, so that the total price of eggs + hash browns + bacon is more than most diners, but individual prices look attractive. Atmosphere: Old tables, floor, bathroom. Not a single dollar invested in anything new. It's like they know they'll close down the business in a week, a month, a year... so what's the point?

We only saw the waitress one time. After waiting 15 minutes, she arrived to take our order and we NEVER saw her again. The potato purée with truffle cream and leeks, which we requested to arrive first hadn't arrived after what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes so we got up from the table and apparently they made a mistake and it should've been brought to the table and when it did, it was cold or barely warm. We tried to find someone to get us to help us, but after five minutes gave up and decided to eat it. You couldn't taste any truffle and we ate it just because we were hungry, but it was extremely disappointing. There were hardly any leaks on it and they were overcooked. Next, there was confusion over our entrée which we were splitting and we wanted to come out and we again had to try to track someone down to explain to please send out the entrée. When it arrived, the fish had been pounded down thin and was covered in breading and so much oil that it was completely disgusting and inedible. Instead of a beautiful piece of juicy flounder, we got a dry, oily thin piece, which was mostly breading and really disgusting. It had no flavor. Green beans which they put a fancy name on to make it sound special while they were overcooked and tasteless and the sweet potatoes were watered down. The rum banana was overcooked and would have been better suited as a dessert. We then had to get up from the table again because we never found our waitress so we had to go to the hostess so we can retrieve our bill and left a very undeserving 15% tip. We managed to find someone else to bring us some containers to take on the food that we hadn't eaten and in the end, I don't know why we bothered because it went in the garbage. If you want terrible service and terrible food, then head on over to Fauna . If you want good service and good food walk a few feet and there you have Flora. Flora is a small intimate restaurant that is decorated beautifully had amazing service and cooks their food perfectly. They treat each customer as if they are their most special customer. We felt welcomed there and we felt like they went above and beyond to make us happy. It was such a different experience going to that. We are shocked the same owners owned both restaurants. Maybe they should try switching managers so Fauna can learn how to run things more like Flora. I have a feeling that Fauna makes most of their money on alcohol because you certainly don't wanna go there for the food or ambience. It's noisy and obnoxious. If you want a peaceful restaurant, that's beautiful and knows what their theme is then go on over to Flora. Fauna has lamps with deer, antlers and wood that is dark and uninviting and strange wallpaper with different animals on it in the bathroom and terrible smelling soap. Their menu is confusing as with their music, which was a mix of salsa and a type of music you would expect in a Mexican restaurant. You really missed the mark Fauna.

It was later in the day, so I did half decaf and half hazelnut. Yum! We didn't get any food, because we had already had lunch. Service was good. We just ordered coffee cups and I asked about gluten-free items. The man who answered did seem regretful. I'm guessing that he's been asked many times before. I have a wheat allergy, and other people have gluten sensitivity, so perhaps some day they'll expand their offerings. In the meantime, I'll keep baking my own protein cookies and flatbread. Every Monday night, Dockers runs an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes a lobster station, raw bar, appetizers and entrees. Yes, you read that right. You can eat oysters and clams on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, mussels, salmon, a variety of salads, ribs, meatballs, and a variety of other dishes -- as many of them as you can stomach -- for just $99. Not only is this an insane deal, but all of the food was fresh and delicious. Where they make their money back is on drinks, though. I had thought there was also a happy hour going on Monday nights (understandably, there's not). We ordered off a limited cocktail menu that had a few options for lobster night. My coconut margarita was honestly delicious, so I can only be so mad that it cost me $23. Even middle shelf mixed drinks are setting you back $17 (but again, the food. Unlimited lobster. $99 for all of the seafood you can eat.) After we grabbed drinks at the bar we walked around the property to take a little tour. It's huge here, with views that would've been stunning if it wasn't such a cold and overcast day. We sat down for dinner and were greeted by our waitress Amber, who explained that we could go up as many times as we want for food without issue. Verbatim told us "you can eat 8 lobsters if you want," so we took this as a challenge. I'm a little ashamed to say I only ate 1 1/2 lobsters. I got distracted by side quests like the raw bar (I housed several plates of raw oysters, clams, and shrimp cocktail) along with mussels, ribs and a meat ball. This deal also included a dessert -- a bread pudding they bring out at the end that's packed with cinnamon and extremely delicious. All in all, I definitely ate my money's worth, but if I had to do it again (and I sure will be back), I might honestly start with the lobster and then go to the raw bar afterwards to make sure I get my fill.

The setup made it nearly impossible to perform comfortably -- a cramped stage, servers constantly pushing through the dance floor mid-set, and no space for the band to sit or regroup between sets. For a place that clearly had the resources, there was very little regard for the musicians providing the entertainment. I hope things have changed, but based on my experience, and seeing that Larry is still the owner, I'm sure it hasn't. This was a difficult and disrespectful place to work.
