I am usually quite good at this stuff, but I just did not have the time, nor the patience to fix this problem. Since this was a business machine, I needed it up PRONTO. Since we do UPS shipping out of it, and it had some vital business files. I bought it into Precision Computer, and they quickly diagnosed the problem, confirmed the drive was still good. Along the way, I was offered several phone calls to give me status, and also of how much it was going to cost. I gave the go-ahead. I bought my computer in at 1pm, and it was returned to me at 4pm. I also had another problem with a configuration of a power cable to my hefty video card, and they solved that without any additional cost. I got my business machine back within a few hours. To everyone that said, hey, maybe it was a simple fix, maybe it is, to experts like these people ... but I had already tried recovery console (the recovery console didnt even see the disk and wanted to format it), I tried spinrite to fix all the problems (ran it for a day, and still no go), and windows would not even see the disk. I have no idea what the problem was, nor do I really care. I know for a fact, if someone fixes computers all day long, they know the troubleshooting steps and also will have the tools to fix it. Also, it is a rarity these days to find shops like Precision Computers in fort lee with REAL PEOPLE experience. Who are you going to talk to? The 18 year old in the g--k squad or someone who really talks to you, and offers you real advice. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES that know what they are doing, before they are all gone. I can assure, you do not want to trust your vital computer to someone who can barely pass an A+ computer test 18 year old at a chain store, bring your computer to people who have COMPUTER in their name and on their signage. I am just so delighted in finally getting face to face service, and fast service too. I recommend this establishment to everyone. And every time I had a problem in the 15+ years I've lived in Fort Lee, these guys were always willing to help.

In the beginning, it worked out well with the technician at the AJ computers in Paramus NJ. He did…read morea good job in betting rid of the viruses, installing free security software and servicing the computer and Juno dial up. His prices at that time were affordable. When things started to go wrong, he got very rude and nasty to me. He lost his temper at me more than once. He even bombarded with nasty and insulting voicemail messages when I decided to have the Geek Squad install my new computer that I bought at Best Buy. I felt more comfortable with the Geek Squad. The technician's business practices were very bad. He got too expensive. He charged by the hour instead of by the service and the labor. He was forcing me to contact Juno support before he would even try to fix the problem. In 2015, he lost his temper at me at his shop. I was upset that he lost the emails. He forced me to have Juno support call him before he would try to get the emails back. I got charged for it. Juno support could not help him. He was able to get the emails back without the help of Juno support. He was out to scam me for more money. He claimed that the security scam took hours. He said he would knock the charges down to 4-5 hours. He said if the security scam detects an infection and he can not get rid of it, I would have to uninstall everything. That would cost me more money and cause me damages. I would lose the Microsoft Office software that I paid to have installed. When he dropped off the laptop during his last delivery, he then tells me that he no longer accepts credit cards and that he only accepts cash or check. He inconvenienced me. Even though he got the emails back, he never fixed the problem with the Juno. He even saw that there was a problem with the Juno dial up when he dropped off the computer. I paid him over 200 dollars. He never followed up on the matter. The Juno dial up ended up repairing itself. I will never do business with this guy again. I do not trust him nor feel comfortable with him. He was the cheapest technician available at the time that did pickups and deliveries and serviced the Juno dial up. The Geek Squad stopped servicing the dial up. Fortunately, I can now afford the broadband internet since the provider gave me a discount for the time being. This technician had a family member who was an executive of the property management of the Bergen Mall where his computer shop was located. The internet now says AJ computers is temporarily or permanently closes.

Great on entertaining the kids while the adults discuss business. The owner and currently only employee, Ed runs the store. Fair, honest and looking out for his customers as I found out during the final evaluation of the electronic I came to have repaired. The minimum jobs he will charge as a store fee of $35. So repair costs will go up from there. He sells repaired unclaimed electronics in store and on Ebay. He has a few gaming consoles on sale. The retro toys, figurines and posters are not for sale. Overall, a safe and fair place to have your electronics fixed, which earns my, "A-okay," rating.
