We've eaten at BC BBQ several times and have never been disappointed. The service is always quick and friendly. I recommend several menu items: pork nachos, brisket sandwich, tenderloin sandwich, pulled pork, and my personal favorite, burnt ends, which is only served on Saturday. The House and Lovingood's BBQ sauces are both excellent. The sides are also good--I particularly like the southern green beans and the mac n' cheese. The cornbread is tasty too. read more

We stopped here for lunch before we went furniture shopping in Pekin. Our service from Riley was great. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich combo with baked beans and coleslaw. I ordered an additional side the potato salad and a piece of cornbread. My wife ordered the 1/3 ribs with green beans and cheesy potatoes. We both got sweet teas to drink. The downfall of this meal was the sweet tea! It appears to be Lipton fountain tea. It had a funny after taste. The highlight of the meal was my wife's fall off the bone ribs. The pulled chicken was dry and a little too chewy. The sides were pretty good. We enjoyed the cheesy potatoes, green beans, and coleslaw the most. We will be back for those ribs! Finally, good local bbq! We tried the brisket, chicken and hog wings. All were smokey, tender and cooked to perfection! The hog wings are hammy little shanks and tender smoked pork, on the bone! The meats are all served without sauce (thank you!), and no sauce is needed, however they offer several tasty varieties. Friendly service, great prices and perfect location! The smell of smoked meat greets you in the parking lot. I was excited to try this restaurant. We shared some ribs, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. The ribs were leaner than I prefer, and the pulled pork and pulled chicken were pretty good. All had a good smoky flavor. I love BBQ sauce on the meat. If you like very sweet sauces, then you'll love it. We do not. The extra spicy wasn't quite as sweet as the others, but was still very sweet. All of the sauces were laced in sugar. We ended up bringing the meat home and putting our own BBQ sauce on it. The coleslaw is not good. The green beans are fabulous. The service was outstanding. read more

So, we went the first week of them being open. They were out of beef and pork but chicken was available. The space was nice, having been recently refurbished, and there was a great bar for sitting at to eat as well as tables. There is beef, pork, ribs and chicken on the menu. They have "Hog Wings", the leg of the hog and there is a big lump of smoked meat that practically falls off the bone. They had the first sauce that I considered spicy, which is an achievement. The coleslaw was cold and creamy, a real treat. They let you add the sauce and bring the meat to the table, unadorned, which then means you control how much sugar is on the plate - outstanding! We were looking for something new to eat and nothing sounded good until I stumbled onto bc bbq on Google. We decided to give it a try. Our waitress was very pleasant. They were out of a few things, but that's understandable because they were packed! We tried the loaded chicken nachos, which were the bomb! Used the lovingood sauce and it was so tasty! Had wanted brisket but it sold out so we went with pulled pork sandwiches. He got fries that were amazing. I would say I'm an "occasional" not a regular, but I have taken many friends, visitors, and bought food for gatherings here. Tonight I went and spent 30.00 on 1burnt ends dinner and a desert to go. I brought it home and there were 7 small burnt ends that were bricks and couldn't chew. I called and they were accommodating. I took meal back and they replaced with ribs. I drove all the way home again and they were awful. Worst ribs I've ever had. like they boiled the ribs. French fries the same. Worst fries ever. I ate the Mac and cheese for dinner. So disappointing when you treat yourself to a meal and spend that kind of mo and it's horrible. Not to mention the gas back and forth. Too many other great places to eat for less. Was surprised to see coconut shrimp on their appetizer menu but that's one of my favorite dishes so ordered those too and will be ordering again! I literally put my nose a half inch from the sandwich and could smell no smoke. Added my own salt, no bark, so sad. Overall too lean for me. 3 sauces, 2 sweet, 1 hot, no tangy. BC BBQ in Pekin, IL is a start up that will probably be here for a long time. Since they are just dipping their toes into the business, they are running a stripped down operation. To be exact they currently are serving carry-out only, and their menu is limited. Located in a re-purposed old pawn shop the BC BBQ could morph into a quaint eatery. The (probably) 100 (ish) year old building has a lot of exposed brick and wood. They said their future plans include sit down dining and when they get that going it should make for a nice ambiance. On the down side parking off street sucks. They are located on a side street and there isn't much room to maneuver. Use caution.I The streamlined menu is also going to grow. They told me that racks of ribs are soon to be added. Todays order was for a pulled pork sandwich and two Hog Wings. The out the door price was just shy of $12. My SO said the pork sandwich was nice sized, the meat was jucy, and had a very good smokey flavor. The Hog Wings ($3 each) are hard to describe. It is a pork rib bone with pork meat that resembles a chicken drumstick. Like her sandwich, the meat was smoky, tasty and juicy. 2 of they made for a moderately sized lunch. Several sauces are available and all are served on the side. Several sides are also available, but We didn't try any of them. I hope they can make a go of this because I definitely want eat there again and am eager to see where this goes. read more
