I had really high hopes for this places, so I was was extra disappointed today. We came for brunch since it is on their online menu. When we arrived the brunch was also in their actual menu BUT they are not serving it?! We ordered oysters and THEN the server told us they were on special. She then asked us awkward questions about what oysters taste like. The oysters took forever and even though we ordered them as an appetizer they came out at the same time as our meal. Don't order the Boudain flautas. They come with all rice and zero meat and we're over fried. If I wanted a fried rice dish I would have ordered that. I paid for the meal because I felt bad about our experience and the server gave the paid bill to my fiancé vs me which was also suero insulting. We probably won't be back. read more

Food tastes good, some plates have rice and beans as a side and I feel they "stuff" the plates with them to provide smaller options of the meats. I have had few extra charges in orders I've placed to go with those extra charges not mentioned in advance. Last time I asked to talk to the manager who after talking to him offer to remove the 3.00 extra charge for an oyster poboy (btw the 12.95 poboy is good in flavor but portion is sadly small...not worth the price). Anyways, beware of extra charges, ask if you're in doubt. I'm feeling this restaurant is taking my business for granted; with so meany options around....I'd go and try other places. I forgot taking pics of the poboy and the big seafood gumbo I ordered ($4.00 extra for crab meat btw). Gumbo has good flavor but thinking of paying over $20 for it takes away the joy. read more

Really good, we were surprised, we have dined at many NOLA restaurants so a Cajun restaurant in Texas...a high bar to meet to say the least. This was our second visit and I feel comfortable with this rating. We have made a point of different meal selections with each visit and all were very solid. I did not get a picture of our food but we were traveling to Pasadena, TX for Thanksgiving and ordered a Cajun fried turkey along with some boudin rice dressing.... it was amazing everyone loved it! They had wonderful and quick service when I went for my pick up and all the staff was very polite. We will definitely go back when ever we are in town visiting. I was looking for something close by to eat and I found this place and it looked new or I just never noticed it before. I checked out the menu and I saw a lot of things I wanted to try and I was laughing at the names of the food becuse I'm from south Louisiana and I found them comical. 1st issues is the gps from yelp put the restaurant waaaaaaay down at the other end of the parking lot. I had to call to find the place. It's on the side of barns and noble. Found it! 2nd issue is there's this little chalk board sign with an arrow saying entrance that I didn't see until I walked passed it once and went to the other side of the building. I was created by friendly staff and sat right away. I ordered my 2 favorite things to eat in general, boudin balls and shrimp and grits. The boudin balls where good I'd order them again. It came with a dip that was a classic crawfish boil dip that was good. The shrimp and grits came and I was looking forward to them. The red beans and rice where bland and tasted like nothing. Even the sausage was flavorless. The grits were no where near that good. Tasted more like the corn they put in it than cheddar. The blackened shrimp did this place in. They looked and smelled delicious. I took a bit and I could tell they used cheap shrimp from China. They had the strongest taste of iodine I've ever had. There were 6 shrimp one by number 2 I was getting sick to my stomach. The manager came over and asked how the meal was. I told her I didn't like it. They offered to send it back but by that time I was very close to Losing my lunch and just wanted to leave so I asked for the check. Never in my life have I ever left a shrimp or eat one so strong with iodine that an hour later I can still taste it in my mouth an hour later and after eating mints. On my way home to get mouth wash and toothpaste. you should really be ashamed of yourself. You're 30 mins from the worlds best shrimp and you buy it from overseas. I've had greasier shrimp in North Dakota no where near an ocean Will not be returning which is a disappointment read more

Called in my order and maybe this is where I must've gone wrong. Although the woman who took my order on the phone was amazing, that's where the good things stop for me. Parking to get inside was a nightmare and the service from the bar was less than desired as well. The bartender was more concerned with dishes and other customers I suppose because he never acknowledged me standing there. Luckily another staff memeber noticed how long I had been standing there and decided to come assist me. Over the phone, I was told my food would be ready in 30 minutes, I arrived in 40 minutes and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my food. There's a certain reason people typically call in their food order and one of those reasons is to avoid the wait and get in and out! Now, I've experienced this type of thing before and if the food is good enough, I would probably look past it but the food is what made this review so low. I ordered the Jazzy shrimp trio, shrimp po-boy, and bread pudding. The shrimp from the trio were cold. The shrimp po-boy was a roast beef po-boy that was so cold with soggy fries that I didn't dare put it in my mouth. They gave me the wrong po-boy apparently. The bread pudding, which is one of my favorite Creole desserts was served with a side of vinagarette. Yes, you read that right. There was a cup of what LOOKED like the traditional bourbon glaze, sitting in the same container. I noticed something black at the bottom so I gave it a stir. As I was bringing the fork to my mouth, I smelled the pungent order of vinegar. I passed it around for others to get a whiff just in case my nose was off. A brave soul tasted it, and confirmed that it was indeed a vinegarette or vinegar based sauce. Now I don't know if someone picked up the wrong sauce and placed it in my container or if this is what they expected me to put on my bread pudding, either way, it was a big mistake that brought this whole bad experience to a head. I didn't bother going back to return my food because not one thing in the order was worth a second chance. read more

Chalmette mac was good but lacked seasoning. Boudin balls were okay. Crawfish were small but it's still early in the season. Expensive per pound compared to other crawfish boil available locally. Delicious bread pudding on the verge of being tres leches. Fun atmosphere. Overall, food was not as good as other BB's locations we've tried but I'm optimistic they'll hit their stride here soon. Wow! THE BEST SERVICE! My mom and I just had lunch with my infant son and we had such a great time. Our server, Fonzie, was so nice and outgoing. The food is decent here, don't get me wrong. However, my rating comes from the consistently horrible curbside and to go service. Their website is quick to take a curbside / to go order; however, making any sense of it is another matter. I don't receive emails of an order confirmation, despite having entered my email during the ordering process. I don't receive text messages with order status, despite being asked to enter my mobile phone number during the ordering process. And when I get to the restaurant and park out front, where curbside orders are supposed to be picked up, customers are frequently leaving via that one lane drive. In the ultra rare circumstance someone answers the phone, finds my order, and can get it out to me before someone is ready to leave using that drive, it works like a well-oiled machine. However, the number of times that's happened can be counted on two fingers. Normally what happens is that I call and let them know I'm outside to pick up my curbside order, they acknowledge me and say they'll send someone out right away. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes, I go inside, ask for my order, and I'm giving it without so much as a shrug, thank you, or anything else. It's like they have no concept of how curbside or to go orders work. Maybe looking across the street at P.F Chang's or the Cheesecake Factory, and studying their methods, would be worth their while. Unfortunately, my wife loves the food, and you know how that goes. I'm sure I'll be back, and I should just set the bar ultra low with zero expectations of anyone bringing my order to curbside.? read more

My son had crawfish a while back and they were large and well prepared. Never had a bad meal or bad service. Today our server was Skye, she was awesome. Cajun food should NEVER be bland with no flavor. Everything we had was in desperate need of flavor down to the tartar sauce. The fried fish tasted very dirty and again lacked any seasoning. Also do not like that you payout on the waiters tablet with them right infront of you waiting for their tip, makes it very awkward. read more

This is my 4th time trying to submit this review so I'll make it short & sweet as possible. Party of 4, 4 waters, 1 beer, 2 margs. Cool. Food ordered, Cup of gumbo, pollo (something), beef poboy, shrimp & grits w/ green beans, hot n spicy shrimp, and boiled crab w/ mushrooms & corn. All fairly satisfied with the food. Wish I would've gotten the bubba salad though! Service was sub par.... like so subpar that I waited 30 minutes (yes I asked during that time) for my water to be refilled WHILE trying to catch the eyes of ANYONE passing by.. WHILE a manager (or someone who seemed to play that role) caught my glaze THREE TIMES and still watched me walk to the bar to get a WATER Thank GOD for Yavonte (I hope I spelled that correctly) was very prompt, kind, and hey GOT ME A WATER! Without hesitation and with a smile. Crazy! So I ordered my to go order for my husband there so I could make sure to tip him. Side note: the runner of the food asked if we needed anything else & my friend with the boil asked for melted butter.. and she had to ask 3 people before actually getting it. During that WHOLE time, our waitress STILL hadn't returned to fill my water nor ask the (clearly finished with their meals) table for Togo boxes/the check. However, after I sat back down waiting for my to go order, the 'manager' came over to ask if the food was okay... What a FINE time to show up. All in all it took TWO HOURS for 4 people to eat meals that all came out pretty quickly & get their checks. That's honestly ridiculous in a place w/ a 20 minute wait that wasn't full. If you're gonna go... sit at the bar or get it to go. I would like to add; I've worked in service for 5-8 years previously and have a very high tolerance/understanding. However, the waitress had 3 other tables and was not at ANY of them when we were in need or waiting on something. I still tipped 15% at the table and that's low for me.. I tipped 25% at the bar because I was dying of thirst with all the sodium I spice in the food. It would behoove this location to just set a pitcher of water or tea (whatever is most ordered) at the table if you have a history of not being present so everyone's happy & you're still making max tip ‍ read more

It was my first time eating at BB's!! This trip was a detour from what I had planned but I'm glad it happened!! I got fried pickles to start and they were delicious, a light batter with the perfect crunch. For my main dish I got the snow crab boil (you get 2 options for seasoning I got the Louisiana style and it was amazing) my friend got the shrimp poboy which he rated a 6.5 his meal came with fries which were sparse on the plate. But I loved my crab boil so much i want to eat it every week! Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. Hosts were nice. Restaurant seemed very clean. Can't wait to go back. My husband and I decided to try this place and we were pleasantly surprised. We had an appetizer, queso and chips. I know this is a cajun place but I wanted to try the queso. It was very good and chips were good too. I ordered the fried shrimp and chicken tenders and my hubby got fried shrimp and catfish. We both enjoyed the food. The shrimp was seasoned well. I absolutely loved the hush puppies! It had a nice kick of jalopeno. I did try my husband's catfish and it was cook to perfection and like the shrimp seasoned well. It was served with french fries and coleslaw. I didn't like the coleslaw, it tasted like it had a lot of onions. Overall, we will definitely come back and I'm trying the gumbo. read more

I had the rue trio with the gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and the red beans and rice. All were great. The portions are huge and I recommend bringing your appetite. The restaurant recently opened so Lisa and I decided to try it before the Lyle Lovett concert. This location was the original site of a Macaroni Grill but you couldn't tell it by the fresh New Orleans decor. We were greeted promptly and warmly when we arrived and were seated quickly. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife ordered the fried catfish with gumbo. All the food was very fresh and tasty. Service was great and we give it two thumbs up (and 5 stars...). read more
