The service was very friendly. We all had the house margarita, served in a salt rimmed pint glass. They were weak and none of us wanted a second. I had the lunch special "crispy chile relleno". I love chile rellenos so this was definitely a must for me. What I did NOT realize is it's a relleno rolled in a corn tortilla and deep fried. Reminded me more of some type of fusion egg roll. It was good, not great. The rice was ok, no real flavor. The refried beans were a bit soupy, running all over everyone's plates. Too bad, because they tasted great (lard is good!). I got a side order carne asada taco and it was cooked well and tasty. I would rate this place as average. The only saving grace was my wife's chicken fajitas. Ample serving and tasty - even when I ate her leftovers later

I wish the consome was a bit stronger in flavor, but the birria tacos were a perfect combo of crispy and juicy. Buuuut the lengua tacos were the real star of the show. The lengua was tender, soft, melted in your mouth, and had an amazing flavor profile. Topped with some of their lime and salsa, and it was even better. The dud of the bunch was the carne asada fries. Coming from San Diego, I've had way better carne asada fries, and these were a flop comparatively. It's a large portion size, if you care, but I'd rather spend money on more tacos.
