The fried chicken here was seriously top tier! I really enjoyed how crispy and soft it was; prob one of my fav fried chicken places I've had. The gator tots were also really good. The bulgogi burger was alright for me. I think maybe the bread and the bulgogi patty was a little wet for me which threw me off but everything else was really good!
i really wanted to like my shrimp burger since it's so hard to find in portland, but it was ok! the shrimp patty was dry. tots were good. fried chicken was also ok! our favorite was the spicy chicken sandwich. it was juicy, flavorful, and the right amount of spice! service - you order at the counter and they bring you the food, but you have to bust your own table. it's nice that you can eat at the bar next door. warning tho the bar doesn't have non alcoholic drinks
My partner and I order the bulgogi burger, Korean chicken Sammy, and the shrimp burger. Each bite we took of every sammy we proclaimed it was our favorite. Every sandwich had its own unique flavor
We came to Portland from Tacoma WA just to try this place. We didn't realize they open at 3p but crazy thing was we got their not knowing 5mins before they open so it was perfect timing. We ordered the signature chicken sandwich and a couple sides of corn cheese and cucumbers. The service was great and quick. Food was spectacular and lots of flavor. Keep in mind the area has small seating selection inside but they do have benches outside if you want to sit out. Overall great food and great service. Street parking only.
I really enjoyed my kimchi burger. It was smash style and the kimchi flavor wasn't too strong, well balanced. I also tried my husbands shrimp burger, very good but needed a little more flavor. The shrimp patty was tender and crispy on the outside. I wish the front counter person asked if i wanted fries or tots. Silly me, forgot that they no longer come with burgers. That's on me but charge me extra $ for it to be included or let me know. There seemed a lot of people enjoying the food. We took it next door to the bar and they brought it to us. I would eat here again.
Two words: Shrimp burger. I haven't had a shrimp burger since being in Japan and my god do I miss it. The burger was juicy and well made, not oily, no filler and full of shrimp. It was so big I had to split it. The bun was perfectly toasted and the cabbage added a nice touch. We also got the potato salad which was delicious! Perfectly cooked potatoes with good chunks of pork belly (or maybe it was bacon) and onions and celery. It faired really well with the burger. I'm super excited to go back and try their fried chicken and other items. It's such a clean environment, ac is great, and service was so friggin fast. And the vibes - whoever is cranking the playlist needs to SHARE because I was sitting there Shazamming every song. I hope they keep this item on the menu!!!
Bbang had some big shoes to fill taking the space of 28 Tigers (which I am still mourning) but this is also a solid addition to the neighborhood. I was most excited about the tofu katsu sandwich, and it did not disappoint! I am not vegan, and I don't even particularly like tofu, but I have found that tofu Katsu is the best form of tofu and I dont hesitate to order it in place of meat. I also really liked the vegan katsu sauce - it's bold and tangy and I actually prefer a non-creamy sauce so the vegan option works great. They don't have many drink options, and no alcohol, but with Holy Ghost being next door (and the table delivery offered) they are relying on the bar to fill that need. I also really loved the hand cut fries and the curry Ketchup. The menu is limited, but the tofu katsu and the great fries are enough to make this a spot I will definitely becoming back to.
Bulgogi burger had no fear of cheese . Right there and good . And for a side , I didn't go for the usual , so I opted for the potato salad . Not at all mushy , like some potato salads are . Pork belly is nice add in . Then for To Go , I ordered the "Doyaji fried chicken" . Even when cold it tasted great . Not too spicy hot , but spicy flavour . It was a little lonely when I visited . Sitting in a nice quiet neighborhood . Plenty of parking . Everything is reasonably priced . Makes you want to order everything on the menu .
The BULGOGI BURGER was so delicious, highly recommend trying it. The tots were perfect. The curry ketchup was a little overpowering and could be toned down, but overall I would eat here again.
Saw this spot on tiktok and wanted to try it out! Got myself the bulgogi burger and a side of cheese corn. I really enjoyed the bulgogi burger it was juicy and tasty. Incredibly filling, ended up only being able to finish half of it, but made great left overs! I thought the cheese corn wasn't cheesy enough for my personal preference, so I would personally try something else next time. Can see myself coming back to try the kimchi burger! There is plenty of seats and a bathroom inside!
Been meaning to check this place out since they opened and I'm so glad I did! It's in the cutest little neighborhood and the food was 10/10. Probably the best chicken I've ever had in Portland. Hands down. The service was amazing, the owners are awesome, everyone was so nice and kind, the ambience was really great, there's tables inside and outside, it's a cool bikeable spot, plenty of bike parking too! Will absolutely be back! Thank you!
I went back again recently after their soft opening to see how the place had evolved. The food is decent, but mostly just Sysco food products, but the sauces are delicious. My main concern was the punk rocker girl working the front who acted offended when I asked for change. I bought the KFC and it was $15. I paid with cash and asked for some change. she acted like she deserved 25% tip and huffed and then only handed me back three dollars and change though I just asked for change. What the heck is that all about? Then after she started off all friendly, she was cold toward me. Some people can't afford to tip 25% for a few pieces of fried chicken from a restaurant attached to a bar. Why shame people and short them by determining what they should be tipping you. What an unpleasant experience. It's right in my neighborhood also and I'd love to go back, but this person that works there needs to go.
Perfectly fried crispy chicken with a delicious dollop of spicy gochujang + Jalapenos! Love the addition on the pickled daikon on the side that the fried chicken comes with. The restaraunt is casual, order at the counter and they'll give you a number, sit wherever, bus your own table. It's shares a bathroom corridor with its adjacent neighbor bar Holy Ghost, which they can deliver to! Great symbiotic partnership. The bulgolgi burger was really good and so was the tasty cheese corn! read more
The curry ketchup is life changing. I really enjoyed it. I love the tots, very crispy. The tofu katsu sandwich was good. The tofu reminded me of chicken with its texture. I wasn't a fan of the bun as much because it was a bit too heavy. However, I really enjoyed the food! Big portions too. You can eat inside Holy Ghost bar too! read more
