Have been regulars at Boylston (Downtown), Kenmore (near BU), JP, and Quincy... All appeared to met the basics requirements for the past 3+ years, until this Allston Branch came into the picture. The notion that they sold it as if nothing was wrong was just deceptive. Further, three pieces were missing. I'd like to share an unfortunate experience I had at this restaurant today during my lunch break. Between 2:00 and 3:00 PM, I decided to try this place for the first time. I ordered two main dishes that I had been looking forward to, and added fries and ranch dressing to complete my meal. The young woman who took my order (the one in the photo) was noticeably cold and unfriendly from the start, as if my presence and request were somehow an inconvenience to her. Despite her attitude, I stayed polite and respectful. After placing my order, I sat down and waited. Once my food arrived, I walked over to the front counter and kindly asked her for some salt and ranch dressing. She told me to return to my table and that she would bring them to me. I went back, started eating, and waited. Five minutes passed, during which the restaurant was completely empty but neither the salt nor the ranch was brought to my table. Still patient, I approached the counter again and repeated my request politely. This time, her tone was clearly rude and dismissive. She told me again to sit down and insisted that she'd bring them over. I explained that my food was already getting cold and I just wanted to enjoy my meal with the items I ordered. But rather than helping, she responded with more attitude, making me feel like I was bothering her. Despite my consistent politeness, she acted as if I was a problem to be avoided. She even started mumbling things under her breath, which made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. When I asked her why she was treating me this way, she didn't respond. I asked to speak to a manager, but she claimed the manager wasn't there and that I couldn't speak to anyone. I then asked for her name, which she refused to give before walking away and completely ignoring me. At that point, I hadn't even started eating. Frustrated and still hungry, I stood up and left the restaurant. Luckily, I hadn't paid yet, despite placing a large order enough to feed two or three people, so at least I avoided paying for such a disappointing and disrespectful experience. In short, I entered this restaurant with a positive attitude and ordered more than enough food, but I was met with a level of disrespect that made me feel entirely unwelcome. I placed my order and proceeded to go use the bathroom. A waitress followed me to the bathroom, raising her voice at me, saying I was not a customer, and not allowed to use the bathroom. She physically tried blocking me with a tray in hand. I told her multiple times that I was a customer, she demanded to see my phone to prove so. We weren't able to actually enjoy the food. I couldn't give any to my child which left both of us sad. We just moved back to Brookline this past weekend after living in north Cambridge for the past couple of years, and couldn't wait to again order our 20 pc boneless with two flavors since it's only a five minute drive to get there and the chicken would obviously still be hot and crunchy... We opted for our old favorites including the Soy Garlic and the Honey Garlic for $30, and paired it with some frozen Sweet Potato Tots to balance out the flavors and save a bit of money in the process. We meant to call and request that the chicken be extra crunchy but forgot to do so, and much to our happiness, both types were perfect anyway! The workers all seem to be real Koreans, and they know how to make interesting dishes. I'm pretty sure bulgogi fries with cheese and tater tots wouldn't be considered authentic, but it's damn good. The cheesling at this place might just be Gods gift to fried chicken; it is always fresh, crispy, hot, and delicious. The rose tteokbokki and the Gangnam style chicken are also quite good. I would love to give this place at least 4.5 stars, however, when I go during the daytime for some reason the service is significantly worse. The signature sauce chicken was not fresh and I had to walk over to the servers to ask for the check. Additionally, I don't know how much control they have over this, but I would not recommend ordering from here because it never seems fresh or fully coated in sauce/powder when ordered.
