Went a couple times when they opened but always came later in the day and most items were sold out like the crispy pork and the quail. Finally able to hit 3lb crispy pork to bring home for a family celebration meal. The skin was nice and crispy you could hear it when scraped with a knife. The meat itself this time was extra fatty, too much fat for my liking. The flavor could have been infused better, more salt or something -- it was definitely lacking a bit in that department. Overall pretty good, we like our other spot in Quincy more for the flavor but their crispy skin was great!! Used it to make spring rolls/lettuce wraps! Space is tiny, walk up window and out, fits maybe 4 people in and out.

Three treasure rice rice with crispy roast pork, barebque pork, and duck - $13

Stopped by and picked up a three meat treasure rice box for $13. The crispy roasted pork was not crispy and lacked flavor. The cha siu was dry and the marinade used was too 1 dimensional soy sauce heavy. The duck felt very fatty (the fat did not render well at all) and the skin was kind of tough and hard to chew. Seyu Mack Tenn on 11 Brook St in Quincy (2 minutes drive away) is much better in comparison.

Another option for Chinese BBQ has been added to North Quincy. I heard there was a hype regarding this new spot that just opened up 2-3 months ago. Checked the menu online and it looked very similar to other Chinese BBQ spots. A little small inside so it's great for pick up. A quick grab and go meal. I saw that they have fried quail. I really wanted to try it. Got there around 11ish in the morning and it wasn't available. A little disappointed but it gave me a reason to try the basics. Got two orders, 3 picks each. Chicken, roast duck, and roast pork. The other one is with chicken, roast duck, and crispy pork. From the reviews, crispy was not crispy and lacked flavor. I did not experience that lol maybe it's because it was still fresh when I got there? Perhaps a little later in the day it's not as fresh because it's been out? My pork was very crispy. You can hear the skin of the crispy pork crackling. The roast duck was amazing but fatty. To many, that's not their preference but I love it lol Roast pork was ok. Could be more tender. It was a little dry. The main reason why I love it so far is because their ginger scallion reminds me of the great Wai Wai in Chinatown that unfortunately is no longer around. Great customer service, super friendly. Definitely will come again on my day off!

Too bad there's no half star or I'd give it 3.5 stars. The space is small, it has 3-4 small tables & seats. There was a line once I walked in. Prices are great but I can understand after opening the container. My 3 meats with rice ($12.99) looked great in photo but once you flip the meat it was most bones. My chicken didn't have any skin on top. The proteins are lacking flavors. Maybe they need to marinate it more and longer? I will come back later to see if there's any new improvements.

Half a pound of roast bbq pork and a quarter pound if crispy roast pork. They are all delicious.

This place just opened yesterday, and i think they will do well. The sign said they open everyday from 8am-8pm, so that's easy to remember. They sell everything by the pound, but they also have rice plates. There were about 4 tables inside, but most people just order for to go. Definitely a keeper and glad they opened in the neighborhood. They take card and cash.

From the outside, the restaurant looks plain and unassuming, but once inside, it's modern, comfortable, and inviting. We had made reservations, but when we arrived, the place wasn't too crowded. The staff greeted us warmly and explained that we could either do the full rodizio or choose specific meats and pay by the pound. Naturally, we went for the full rodizio experience. The salad bar was a pleasant surprise. Unlike other Brazilian steakhouses that focus mainly on cold cuts, cheeses, and salads, Spettus had a smaller selection of cold items but an impressive variety of hot dishes such as pastas, meatballs, rice, and chicken parm. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and honestly, I could've been perfectly happy just eating from the salad bar alone. We also noticed that a good number of customers were doing takeout, which might explain the larger selection of hot foods. Then came the main event, the meats. Since it was a slower evening and we were the only table doing the full rodizio, we basically had personalized service. The gentleman serving the meats was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in what he was serving. He offered great recommendations, took our requests, and playfully encouraged us to take "just one more slice" each time he came around. Every cut we tried was excellent, but the garlic steak really stood out for its flavor. The sausage was fantastic, and the absolute stars of the night were the picanha and the grilled pineapple. I could eat those two forever and be completely content. Overall, Spettus Steak House delivered a top-notch experience that easily rivals some of the larger chain Brazilian steakhouses. If I find myself back in the Boston area, I'll definitely be returning.

I was a frequent customer of the Royal Hotpot Restaurant back in the days when it was an AYCE…read morehotpot and sushi restaurant, and it was one of the best restaurants of this type in the Quincy area, and maybe even all of the Great Boston area. Then Covid came, and this restaurant rebranded itself as an a-la-cart Korean BBQ and sushi restaurant. I tried it once after the rebranding. It was relatively expensive, and neither the hotpot nor the sushi stood out. With food that was middling at best and a higher than average price, I didn't feel it was worth returning to. So I haven't visited this place since 2022. Fast forward to last night, my family stayed up to watch football, and we got hungry and wanted to buy some takeout. Many places that we were interested in were closed by 10 PM, and Royal Hotpot was still open. So we bought several items from them for takeout. We live 20 minutes away and did our own pickup. When we got home with the food, we found the following: I had a beef Bibimbop. 20 minutes after pickup from the restaurant, it was already cold. Not ice cold, but room temperature at best. There was no sauce. You eat a Bibimbop by first pouring in the special Bibimbop sauce and getting its taste onto everything. But, as I said, no sauce. The Bibimbop itself? A relatively small bowl that had plenty of rice, a boatload of seaweed that smelled fishy, and not much beef even when I stirred the food around to find what beef I could. There was not much. So, I put a spoonful of rice into my mouth. All I could taste was the fishiness of the seaweed,. There was no beef taste or any other taste that I could discern. So for almost $30 bucks I got a dry bowl if rice and mostly seaweed that was devoid of any taste you could enjoy. It was basically dry seaweed rice, with very little meat, and no sauce. I have eaten Korean food in general and Bibimbop in particular from maybe 20 restaurants in the Greater Boston area. I would rate this one the worst, by a significant margin, that I have ever had. I ended up putting the entire bowl, after two bites, into the fridge. Why didn't I throw it away? I feed stray cats behind my house, and this will go to the cats tonight. The two mouthfuls that I tried to eat? I spit those out into the garbage because it tasted so vile in my mouth. As for the other order, it was mostly sushi. My family member who absolutely LOVES sushi of any kind did eat his order, but he muttered that it was definitely subpar. So there you have it. If you ever have a yen for Korean or Japanese cuisine and you don't find many places open, don't come to this place. Eat some canned food from home, or make some instant noodles. This place, for me, was an awful choice. After putting Royal Hotpot's food away, I made an instant noodle to fill my hunger. that instant noodle was 5 times better than my expensive takeout. Note: I only give 1 star reviews for food that is literally spoiled, or when restaurant staff give egregiously awful service, 2 stars is the rating I generally give for really bad, unenjoyable food.

The sauce bar was impressive, with tons of bases, oils, herbs, and nut toppings to mix and match. We chose duo broths: the Wild Mixed Mushroom Broth and the Pork Buddy Mala Butter Broth at medium spice. Having one spicy and one mild was perfect, and both had deep, flavorful profiles that got even better as the meal went on. VEGGIE PLATTER The veggie platter came packed with fresh ingredients like lettuce, lotus root, mushrooms, and squash. All the vegetables were crisp and high quality. MEAT ASSORTMENT We ordered wagyu and several cuts of beef, all sliced beautifully and extremely fresh. Everything cooked quickly and soaked up the broth in the best way. SPICY HAMACHI BOMB ROLL This roll with torched hamachi, eel sauce, and mango was delicious and added a nice sushi moment in between the hot pot. NOODLE ASSORTMENT We tried the handmade noodles and sweet potato noodles, both were an epic addition and perfect for finishing the meal as the broth got richer. FRIED VANILLA ICE CREAM Crispy on the outside and cold in the center, it was the perfect sweet ending. Perfect way to end a chilly evening during this soup season.
