I have mixed feeling about this restaurant. The location and the view was amazing. Right on the marina we had a great view of the docks and the boats coming in and out. It was a warm summer evening and the cocktails where great. Unfortunately it was down hill from there. It was hard to tell if the outside tables where weather worn or dirty. The service was great, waiter was friendly and attentive. The apps arrived quickly but sorry to say the Fried Calamari was rubbery and the Baked Clams were mostly bread crumbs and celery the clams were no where to be found. Not what I expected for a seafood restaurant. I have the Strip Steak which was the special. It was tough and over cooked, served in a bowl with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. This made the steak very difficult to cut. The veggies were an odd combination of broccoli, green beans, carrots and celery and had no taste or appeal. The Lobster Roll was a fair size prepared cold with Mayo. I would have preferred and toasted split top bun rather than and an in toasted bun. I was allowing my daughter to walk with her 14 year old cousin along the marina and the bartender said "I am passing the judgement onto you." Then as we were leaving I stated my daughter can walk with whoever I see fit and her reply to me was "good for you." Lobster Mac and cheese was watery like soup and not seasoned well; it was very bland. My boyfriend and I also got the ravioli special. It was $32 and it came with 4 raviolis and 4 pieces of shrimp. This review is about the upstairs bar area, have not had the food downstairs. First the positives, wait and bar staff very nice. View is really amazing. Felt my mixed drink at price point was very watered down, had 2, both same. Food is poor in my opinion. The shrimp tempura looks like out of a bag, and not even good quality. Calamari was rubbery and thick (perhaps undercooked?). The fish tacos I could not even eat. Fish chopped up and tasted bad. Had friend at table try and they agreed fish tasted bad. The taste lingered the rest of the evening. Ordered two lobster sliders to replace, you have to order a minimum of 2. I would be generous to say there was a 1/4 cup (not pound) of lobster meat between the 2 sliders. 80% was the bun, 15% tomato and greens 5% lobster. Total rip off. The ambiance is what makes this place really nice .... Besides that the drinks are common ... the bartender that day was very heavy handed and not in a good way. Favorite restaurant in Lindenhurst the location is amazing as you're sitting right next to the water and you can watch the boats pull up the food is excellent and the service is even better the bathrooms do not have a changing table. However it's not a big deal because you're usually not there that long the parking is public and private were you may have to use the meter so make sure you bring change I highly recommend making a reservation online as they get very busy in the summer read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Bayvue last night. We could only get 8pm reservations for dinner so we arrived early to check out the rooftop bar. We had drinks upstairs while we waited for our table. It was quite nice to watch to watch the sunset. Shortly after the first round they called us for our table so the waitress has our drinks sent down to the table. It started to rain so the offered to move us inside but we declined since it was just a drizzle. We shared the tuna, steamed mussels and calamari for apps. They were all very good. I had the lobster roll for dinner which was on par for a LI lobster roll. Thankfully it stopped raining and we enjoyed a lovely dinner on a beautiful night! I thought it was a mistake but I talked to my friend that went there after me and he told me that they wrote in $70 tip on a $50 bar tab even after he left a cash tip. I'm not usually one to complain or criticize and when I do it's for a good reason. First off, I love this local spot and its convenience and proximity. Where else can you eat dockside/bay side? The summer months make this place a hot spot and I've always had a good experience. Today.... Not so much. My daughter ordered the Mac n cheese and while the portion size was off the charts and the rigatoni was a great choice, never had a more bland cheese sauce in my life. Even the Kraft Mac n cheese has more flavor. Might I suggest the chef "actually" sample the fair that comes out of the kitchen. Lobster was dried out and for $30 there wasn't much if it. Cheese sauce was very thin and way to much bread crumbs. Some bites were scorching hot, others room temperature. My guess is it was reheated, not fresh. The chicken special wasn't special at all. No flavor. Pretty bland. Veggies over cooked and limp. Mashed potatoes had no flavor. Meat. A nice view of the south shore bay with extremely limited parking, okay service and food in need of some added zeal. As far as seafood is concerned most of the options are fairly standard for the area with a padded price tag in relation to the restaurant's prime location. The fried calamari was especially salty and chewy, nearing tough. The seafood plateau seems like a fair price until you realize how small half a lobster sizes up in comparison to another entree. The turkey burger was good but this is clearly a seafood restaurant, Drinks are on the strong side. Wait staff are mostly younger or unconcerned with your dining experience, likewise annoyed to accommodate you. Overall this location just doesn't seem like it's reached its full potential. probably more of a 3.5 star rating, Bayvue is a very nice dining experience...once you get in and seated Wifey & I headed over this past Friday after looking for a new waterfront spot & seeing Bayvue featured in a Newsday article on the topic. Called & asked for a reservation but was told they weren't taking any more. At the same time I happened to be on their website perusing the menu and noticed an OpenTable link - 10 seconds later I had the reservation I was told I couldn't get, so do yourself a favor and set it up this way if you can. Being that the restaurant is literally at the water's edge on Wellwood Ave, it's a tight little stretch of road that's made worse by the neighboring catering hall. Bayvue offers valet parking, and while it seems like a chaotic scene the guys really do know what they're doing. DO NOT park in the public lot adjacent to the restaurant unless you have a Lindenhurst Village parking pass, we witnessed town code enforcers writing tickets like crazy. Best bet is to swing through the parking lot & get on line for the valet, it takes a few minutes when it's busy but you won't have any of the headaches. Once inside, expect a wait for your table if you want to be outside like we did. You can give the hostess your cell phone # and they'll text you when the table is ready. In the meantime, head to the upstairs bar to grab a drink & enjoy the beautiful scenery. After you get the table, you'll find that they have some great fresh seafood options. Whether you want something cooked or raw from the sushi bar there are options for everyone, including the non-fish eaters. Everything we had was fresh & super tasty. A little pricey but nothing overboard. Wait staff was very friendly & accommodating as well. All in all a nice place for a waterfront dinner if you've got time & patience read more

One of the waitresses just had a bad fitting mask which kept slipping down but our waitress wasn't even trying to cover her nose. This upstairs deck gets way too crowded and the only place you are allowed to sit for drinks is at the bar. Good luck trying to get a seat though. So my boyfriend and I stood near the stairs and one of the waitresses dropped a bottle of Corona on my baby toe - it hurt like a mother!!!!!! 3 days later and it is still bruised and still hurts every time I touch it or put on shoes. Ambiance and service were both very good. The Food was hit or miss. Wings were OK. Mozzarella sticks better than expected. Mussels had some sand but a lot of sauce and bread for dipping. Had lunch here today. Nice view of the Wellwood Ave boat doc. We sat on the back deck. Friendly service and good food. I had fried calamari which was very chewy but the batter was good and not to oily. And no tentacles which made me very happy because I do not like the tentacles. I just wish it wasn't so chewy..made it difficult to eat. My hubby had the grilled cod sandwich which was very good. It melts in your mouth. It came with fries which were perfect! Even the water tasted great... I always appreciate when a restaurant has filtered tap water. And I appreciate that the server gave us extra napkins and wet wipes without even asking. Had 730 reservations for a party of 10 on a Saturday night. Table wasn't ready at 730. We were told by hostess they were waiting for people to get up to push tables together. It didn't seem busy and seemed to be other tables to push together. But ok. We went upstairs to the outside bar. Putting a $13 drink in a plastic cup was a little less appealing to me. But it was good. We drank and talked and talked and talked. We weren't called for our table until after 815pm. No apology, no recognition to how long we waited. Finally Sit down and it took about 20-30min for the waitress to come over to our table and take our order. Waitress was friendly. Food came out fast and hot. We got a variety of food. From fried calamari, salads, burgers, sushi, poke bowl, and linguine and clams. I got the BLT lobster sandwich. It was good. Would have been better if it wasn't on a hard possibly stale roll. Not a lot of meat or bacon on Sammy. So the bread was hard and overpowering. Everyone enjoyed what they got and enjoyed different cocktails. Come 10pm on SATURDAY when they close when we were finishing our meal they were putting the chairs up on tables, cleaning the floors and counting their tips. Very unprofessional. We got sat over an hour late for our reservation and then a table of 10 was expected to finish apps, drinks and dinner in 1 hour. Overall good. Nice atmosphere. Literally the worst lobster roll I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered his burger medium and it came out cooked to a crisp. My cocktail tasted like water. The waitress came to our table once and to ask if we needed anything, not how everything was. She took way too long to come back the second time. Went here with the girl plus one for dinner by the water. We were greeted and promptly seated. We choose a table outside. Our server came over, chatted, and took our orders. We hung out and had drinks. Oysters were fine. The meals were okay. I had the fish and chips. Another person had the burger. Two meals that tend to be hard to mess up. The shrimp scampi wasn't good. We live in Lindenhurst and eat out approx three times a week. We try to favor local restaurants. At approx 2:00 we ordered from their LUNCH MENU - I had fish and chips - $20 (on the Lunch Menu - not cheap) The chips were luke warm and mushy, and the fish was on the greasy side. NO DRINK. My wife had a cup of clam chowder, a glass of wine and the house salad - no meat. The bill came to $48 without the tip. Sounds outrageous for a lunch in Lindenhurst. Will not return. Gave it two stars instead of one because the chowder wasn't bad. Also - we sat across from two woman who ordered the same time we did. After 15-20 minutes, the waiter returned delivering ONE meal and told the other woman that they ran out of what she ordered. She didn't want anything else.
