I'm not sure if the sales building is the same ownership as the service center, but the service center sucks to put it bluntly. I brought my 2024 Tiguan for the first time about a month ago. I was having problems with my Apple CarPlay, turning on and off whenever it felt like and there was also a recall on my car something to do with the front camera. Well, they did nothing with the car because whatever they could have done they said they could not do it because they did not have the part. Fast forward three weeks the part is now in. I'll make an appointment a week in advance to bring my car in. I drop my car off got a ride home which is the only thing I will say about this service center. They are good about getting Lyft drivers to take you home. Anyhow they call me at 4:30 to tell me my car will not be ready for whatever stupid reason. I told them when I came in. I must have the car for the next day and when they called me to tell me it wasn't gonna be ready. I said to them well I must have a vehicle. what will you do for me? Do you have a loaner car? No, I'm sorry we have no loan of course. WTF.!!!! to say I was furious was an understatement. Fortunately, my sister did not need her car for that day so I had to use her car. Now today, I'm using my car. My Sirius radio is not connecting and my Apple CarPlay is not connecting. I turned the car off turn it back on the radio is sort of working on and off when it feels like it and my Apple CarPlay is doing the same. On my way home my radio was on. I made a call with voice dialing my radio shut off not to turn on back on again and my Apple CarPlay was turning on and off as I was trying to call Sirius to get the situation corrected. My car is not going back to that service center ever again. They must've screwed something up when they fixed the computer. They told me the computer crashed because I was not even be able to get a.m. or FM radio to play. read more

I got my first VW here and had a nice experience. I came for my 2nd and I left pissed and had a bad time. I won't get into it. I'll end up writing a chapter book. I ended up getting it somewhere else. We came for a car for my boyfriend because it was close and I'm pretty sure the person helping us was on something and rude. He acted like we wasted his time and would rather stay seated in the front. We left and got a car somewhere else. We should've never came that 3rd time. I am writing regarding my recent experience with your dealership and to request the full refund of my factory pre-order deposit for a Volkswagen Golf R, placed approximately three years ago. On August 19, 2025, at about 3:00 PM, I contacted Bayside Volkswagen by phone regarding my refund request. Unfortunately, my experience with two of your employees was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. First Representative (Unidentified Female Employee) I explained clearly that I was requesting a refund of my factory pre-order deposit. Instead of listening, she pulled up unrelated information about my previous vehicle and provided me with the wrong details. She repeatedly sighed during the call in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. She transferred me to another employee. She is so rude and dismissive and repeatedly sighed in a way that was so disrespectful. Second Representative (Gus): Initially, our conversation was acceptable but quickly became unprofessional. I explained a refund of my factory pre order deposit that I have a yellow slip receipt from Bayside Volkswagen that states "factory pre-order deposit." Gus told me he would send me an email so I could provide further information, but he used his personal email account instead of an official Bayside Volkswagen address. This is highly inappropriate and raises serious concerns about the security and privacy of my personal information. I never received the first email he claimed to send. When I informed him that my primary email sometimes has issues and offered to provide an alternate email address, he repeatedly ignored my request and instead told me--several times, in a raised tone--to refresh my inbox, log out, and log back in. (never listen) He spoke over me, raised his voice, and failed to listen to what I was saying. When I asked why he was yelling, he excused it by saying he has a hearing problem, but this does not excuse his rude and aggressive behavior. Eventually, after much frustration, he did send the information to my second email address as I had originally requested. He ignored my request (my second email address) and repeated himself with raised voice and yelled at me. "Based on my experience with both representatives, I believe the staff acted unprofessionally, did not listen to my concerns, and treated me with disrespect. Their behavior demonstrated a lack of customer service and accountability. I am requesting not only my refund but also that this complaint be formally documented and addressed by management." After our call, I sent an email to Gus as requested, but I never received a reply or acknowledgment. This lack of follow-through further demonstrates poor communication and a lack of accountability. Another concern is that Gus asked me to send information regarding my deposit to his personal email account rather than an official Bayside Volkswagen email address. This raises serious concerns about the security and privacy of my personal information, as I expect all communications with your dealership to remain within official, secure channels. Using personal email accounts for customer transactions is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. Overall, my experience shows: * Unprofessional behavior * Failure to listen to customer concerns * Dismissive and disrespectful communication * Aggressive tone and yelling * Improper use of personal email for dealership business * Failure to follow up on promised communication This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I am happy to report that after dealing with the manager Angelo he was able to successfully assist me with changing my contract removing the warranty , and also providing me with a discount on my package in exchange for the second car key . ANGELO provided me with great service and made sure all of my concerns were taken care of . I would definitely do business again in the future with Angelo . Update : I was able to rectify all of the wrongs thanks to the help of the manger at VW bayside Angelo . He made sure to adress all of my concerns , and was very apologetic on behalf of his worker Vincent . I bought a car back in 2018 promised me my second key within a month like the sleaze ball of a salesman promised me and he conveniently was let go before I could get my second key and shocking enough he didn't log anything in the system before he left leaving me screwed. Second, Keep in mind this was my first time buying a car I asked him to help me set up a extended warranty told me he did and now in 2021 I find out he never properly set up my warranty for me and there is now a recall on my Jetta abs Volkswagen is trying to blame me for the issue and make me pay out of pocket when it is their fault. I visited Bayside Volkswagen with the intention of just looking over different models of the VW Atlas. I had quite a few other vehicles that I was interested in but didn't have to look any further than Bayside Volkswagen. I informed the team there that I had a few other vehicles in mind for a 36 month lease. Atlas was at the top my list but wanted to do my due diligence and test all vehicles on my wishlist. Once I mentioned the other vehicles that I was interested in, I was told to PLEASE go test drive them, they were very confident and genuinely wanted me to go test the other vehicles. They were assured that I'll be back. I test drove the Atlas and it was a done deal, there wasn't a need to look any further. Aside from the warranty I was offered program that will cover all maintenance required by the lessee for a small additional monthly fee. I must admit, I spent a little more than expected but am thrilled to have this vehicle!! To top it off, I also received a 55 inch smart TV!!! I originally went to Bayside Volkswagen back in 2015 to return my Jetta at the end of my lease. Because they were so easy to deal with back then. I came back the last week of June to finance a new Jetta. There was a great deal going on at the time, 0% APR for 6 years and the first payment didn't need to be made for 120 days. Silvano was our salesman. When we came back in to pick up the car on Tuesday, June 30th, we were sold on the tire and wheel insurance. They needed to create a new contract to add this on, and forgot to let VW finance know that we were taking the 120 day delay in payments. When I received a bill, I emailed Silvano and he emailed me back saying he was going to deal with it. I then received a phone call from Angelo the manager on Thursday, July 16th asking if it was important for the 120 day part because it was a lot of paperwork for him to do and he obviously won't make me pay the fee to change the contract since it was their fault for not adding this to the original contract. I told that I wanted him to proceed with the paperwork and I was glad he wasn't going to make me pay the fee. He said he would call me back to let me know where he was with the paperwork for us to come in and sign the new contract on Friday or Saturday. I received an email on Friday morning, July 17th from Silvano telling me to call Angelo, which I did. I left a message for him and have not heard back from him. I emailed Silvano asking when I should receive my registration for my car on Monday, July 20th and I haven't heard back from him either. It is now Thursday, July 23rd and I still have not heard back from either Angelo or Silvano. They basically drop you once you drive off with the car. UPDATE: It's amazing what a review, especially a negative one, can do. Lo and behold, the next day, Friday, July 24th, I got a call from Angelo saying that the paperwork was ready. He even joked saying "I bet you thought I forgot about you!" We went in on Saturday and signed the paperwork. As we were leaving, he made sure to ask me if we were still friends. Considering that was the first time I actually met him, I didn't know we were friends. Angeloeven called me today to ask me to update my review. Silvano did check in with the DMV for me and emailed me to let me know that my registration should be arriving any day. I would definitely go back to Silvano. He was really nice and didn't try to push up sales on me. He's the reason I updated my review to 4 stars. If you do go to Bayside Volkswagen, use Silvano. read more

I informed him that I don't currently own a car and he drove to my house so I can test drive. He also picked us up on the day we need to pick up our car. He really went above and beyond! Until we took the car home , realized it did not fit our needs and less then 72 hours later wanted to exchange the car for the better model. However this was not an option. We called and asked what it would cost to exchange ( which we are more then willing to pay for) and we're informed that that was not an option because the car was registered to us. Even though we have not made the first payment and the paperwork hasn't even been processed yet. I first dealt with our salesman and then asked to speak to a manager... both were trying to rush me off the phone and we're extremely unhelpful. I was very concerned about having to have my car inspection, oil change and 10k maintenance service performed because of this pandemic. My mom who is 91, relies on me, so I have had to be extremely cautious. Everyone I interacted with at this VW service, was extremely professional, and took all the necessary safety precautions, which put me at ease. From Jose who checked me in, to my Advisor Mustafa Karimbaksh, really everyone working there were very respectful and took my concerns seriously. Kurt Palmer inspected my car and sent me a video to my phone of his findings. Everything was in perfect shape, so I was happy I did not have to worry if thy were going to "make something up" because I was a women at a service shop. Mustafa sent me text, so I would have his number directly in the event I needed to ask any questions. Bought a brand new GTI from Peter with my husband, he's an older gentleman who wasn't pushy at all. He's earnest and honest, two traits I value in a salesman. The buying process was straightforward and easy. Took a couple of hours mostly because of insurance issues at our side. I would recommend doing your research before buying a car, decide prior if you want a lease or to pay cash. Know what you want beforehand saves time and removes ambiguity for all sides. We negotiated a price before going down and when we went in, he honoured the price with no hidden fees what so ever. We were pretty pleased with that as we heard of dealers adding silly charges here and there, and low balling a price just to get you into the dealership. *I think we did get a good price on the car. BEWARE OF UP-SELL - DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE AGREEING TO ANY WORK This dealership made over $3000 worth of 'recommendations' to my six year old volkswagen. Funny thing is, I knew it would happen so I brought my car to a personal mechanic a day before the dealership visit and was told there weren't any problems with my car other than those related to my check engine light problems. If you are going to visit this dealership for ANY service, request a written report of all recommendations and prices and take the list to a trusted mechanic. It will save you a lot of money and heartache. If the reports between the dealership and the mechanic dont match up, be sure to report this to the DMV, Better Business Bureau and NYS Office of Attorney General. read more

I recently traded in my 2013 Jetta for a 2014 Passat. My experience started with Sally Morello, who contacted me following an internet inquiry. I explained my timeline and she listened. We scheduled an appointment for a trade in appraisal and test drive. My timeline needed adjusting and Sally accommodated. On Saturday, at the dealership, I was introduced to Andrew Kovach, the sales rep I would be working with. During my thorough test drive of the new Passat my Jetta was appraised. Andrew, Angelo and I took about 15 minutes to get me where I needed to be pricewise. Nelson then tagged in and took the credit info (I had pre applied with VW Credit.) The Passat had to be located. It was and was delivered to Bayside on Thursday. Saturday I went in and finished up the paperwork and drive home in my new Passat. One week, start to finish! I would absolutely reccommend Bayside VW. Then he just treated us like nobodies. The day we picked up his car the sales guy literally said to us "You guys are young, you know how all the buttons and features work in here right?" Since he was running out the door he had no time to show us ANYTHING in the car. We also asked for a key chain and after getting really annoyed with us he finally gave us one. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Yesterday I picked up MY new lease from Platinum VW and they were just AMAZING from start to finish. Complete opposites from Bayside. I have very good experiences with this place. In 9 years I leased 5 cars from them, and coming for more. These guys are honest, hard working, deliver what they promised. I have never had any problems. Oh, the last car - 2014 Jetta - was delivered on time, plates and all stickers installed while me and my wife enjoyed coffee, and then the sales man Peter spent about 15 minutes to make sure my wife gets familiar with new features. Cool service! Here is an example of their service: We came home and I noticed the car did not have floor mats! I called Peter right away, and found out that this model does not come with mats, and I have to purchase mats myself. It was a turn-off. But in 15 minutes Peter called back and said he has mats for me, and I can pick them up at any time. Well, I got my mats free of charge, as I expected. I recommend this dealership! read more

I saw an ad for a 2015 Jetta for $1899 down and $159 a month. I spoke to Sally who was extremely professional and answered most of the questions. Upon arrival, I did not meet with sally. No sales rep would approach me yet, I had a bona fide appointment to test drive a vehicle. After waiting 15 minutes, a sales rep meets me and ask me if I'm ready to drive then proceeds to ask when do I plan on purchasing the vehicle. I respond by saying within the next month or so. After learning the ad online was misleading, I went ahead and selected the car of my likings. After figuring out the best car for me; Jetta S with Connectivity, I spoke with the sales rep and made a offer which took him 25 minutes to obtain approval from a sales manager. A week later, I bring my father with me to the dealership to sign the paperwork just to learn we were declined VW Finance meanwhile my co-signer has a FICO credit score of 797 and my score is 630. The leadership and disorganization of this business is beyond belief. I would never recommend or set foot in this location again. The dealership still goes ahead and cashes our deposit of nearly $4,000 which includes a bunch of weird surcharges and fees which were never explained before hand. A week later Bayside VW has yet to return the check. Stay AWAY! I will be contacting VW Corporate in the morning. read more

I had to have my 2013 VW Beetle towed to Bayside (WE bought the car from Long Island VW) because it was the closet to our house. I get there and the wait was so long. We get called and find out after waiting about an hour that they won't be able to look at the car till Tuesday. I fully understand that it being a holiday and not being able to look at the car sooner. When I asked about a loaner car I was told that because I did not buy the car from Bayside they could not give me a loaner. UUUUmmmmm The car is still under full warranty and to no fault of mine the car is undriveable. Bought a Jetta from them back in late 2011 and went through a relatively painless experience. I suppose it depends on the salesperson and manager(s) you deal with. The one who helped me out (Oswald, not sure if he works there anymore), he was a good guy who was able to throw in some extras. We reached a deal pretty quickly and took the keys a week or two later. The only thing I could think of that was sub-par was towards the end when signing the actual paperwork and financial documents with the manager. You could tell he was trying to hold back on pressuring me to purchase an extended warranty. Car is doing fine, 30K+ miles, a few rear tire changes, gas cap and headlight repair, but that's about it. We'll see how it wears and tears past the standard dealer warranty period. VW, don't let me down. read more
