Absolutely terrible experience at Star Nissan of Bayside. I waited nearly 3 hours for what should have been a simple oil change, tire rotation, and NY State inspection. Before handing over my car, I checked the tire pressure--so I know for a fact the tires were never rotated, despite being charged for it. At this point, I seriously question whether the oil and filter were even changed. This level of dishonesty and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. What's worse is this isn't the first time it's happened--it's the second. The Deceptive sales practice consists of taking a deposit and stating it's to hold the vehicle and refusing to refund the customer because since it's a so called final sale. How is it a final sale when no vehicle was purchased and at the time of the deposit no rates or amounts were discussed? I ask a lot of questions and he was patient and answered them all. I was looking for a GTR. The car right now is hard to acquire and inventory is scarce. I spoke to Aaliyah at Star Nissan, who told me she spoke to her sales manager and was told that they could order the car for me if I come into the dealership. She also said the price would be MSRP, and I wouldn't have to pay anything outside of that. I asked her if she was absolutely sure she was giving me the correct information, because the dealership is not close to where I live. She confirmed she was relaying to me what she was told by her sales manager. I live in Connecticut, and drove an hour to Queens to meet with them on a Saturday. When I get to the dealership, I sit down with a salesguy named Ali. We discussed the car, Ali told me that they couldn't order it for me after all, and that they would instead look to find the car for me. We were discussing colors, when a very short man with a beard standing behind me says "hey guys, I know you're discussing colors and all, that's all great, but I think you should be flexible on the color and we won't do this for less than $40,000 over MSRP". The salesguy Ali says "you heard the man, he's the big boss". I reiterated that I was told the pricing would be around MSRP and that I would never have driven 1 hour had I known they would try to price gouge me like this. Ali responds "oh you just spoke to a receptionist, she has no say about numbers, she just answers phones". Obviously I know that receptionists aren't salespeople, but they also generally are not incentivized to lie either. It's likely she was in fact repeating what someone told her and that this was a sales tactic to get me to come in. They obviously couldn't care less about my time. The above is a PERFECT example of why buyers are weary of car dealerships. As soon as greedy salespeople get what they percieve as the slightest bit of leverage (rare car), then you see how much they really adhere to their "values" of serving customers and doing fair business. I ended up buying a white GTR from a different dealership for around MSRP. It took pererverance, but things worked out for me despite this poor experience with Star Nissan. read more

I had a great experience leasing and returning my car at this dealership. My salesman was Chris, who was very nice. I got to the price I was happy with after maybe an 1-2 hrs of haggling but honestly any dealership you go to will try to make the most profit, thats just the game. This dealership was truthful compared to the one I went to before this one which outright lied and told me bs policies to rush us into getting another car from them (Gregoris Nissan - stay away). Also, this dealership gave me a fair price, and worked with me to get there compared to my previous dealership (Nissan of Rockaway - stay away unless you wanna be overcharged). I did receive an incorrect bill from Nissan Cop. in the mail after I returned my Nissan, but once I called the dealership, they fixed the error. Overall, I liked my experience with this dealership and would recommend it to anyone considering a Nissan!! read more

I also needed another issue I needed handled didn't need a diagnostic check just the work done I got a song and dance on that. I was interested in the Rogue Platinum the sales person who was of Indian descent was asking me a hundred questions on why was I interested in that car. I told him the car we have now was $10,000 more than the rogue he came back and said that the numbers where we want to be, is not happening. he also stated that my lease is the same price which in fact is a lie because I have papers at home the MSRP did say $43,000 but because at the time of the lease everything was marked up and we leased for $53,000. you would think that because we are a loyal customer they would want to keep you. Watch out for the bait and switch car lease agreement. We thought our lease was with the Nissan Corporation, like our prior 3 leases with Nissan. The lease ended up being with Hann Financial. When we moved to Florida, we were able to turn in our car and lease a new Nissan. Our dealer , after speaking with his Financial person, told us that Hann Financial wants us to return our car to their office in NJ. What a pleasant surprise. We came to Star Nissan after going to several other dealerships where we had bad experiences (salesmen pushing you to buy, ridiculous waits). We are so happy we came to Star Nissan. We were helped by Ali who politely and friendly helped us through the whole process. He never pushed us to buy. The whole process took minimal time. Most importantly, we never felt scammed, which is something you often feel like in most dealerships. We picked up our car and the experience was equivalently pleasant. We were in an out within 1 hour, and that included also meeting with the finance manager. They made the while process pain free. My Review ""Star Nissan will defraud you and put your life in jeopardy " Buyer beware. on November 28 2017 I bought a pre owned 2002 Cadillac Deville from Star Nissan of Bayside.. The purchase process was pleasant and stress free . However the real horror was only discovered driving home that the brakes very virtually non existent . Plus a week later we had a high speed blowout due to severely worn tires. I advised the dealership asap and they have not done anything to resolve the issue. the folks literally put on a new inspection sticker . knowing full well it would never pass Please be advised that I have no choice but to move forward in filing a fraud complaint against Star Nissan for unlawfully passing a NYS inspection on the vehicle w hen the car indeed had all four tires , front brakes and tie rods worn below limits. all parts have been retained as evidence.. we did experience a high speed tire blowout 2 weeks ago and needed to be towed to the nearest repair shop. Star Nissan put our lives in jeopardy and others by allowing the car to pass inspection with these obvious defects. I have contacted my attorney as well as the DCA, DMV, BBB, Nissan of North America and finally the NYS Attorney General's office via email to advise them of what happened. Since then my car has been back & forth to the Nissan service center and still always drove it out with the same problem, never really fixed. After to speaking to Gus and Ronnie, they told me to bring the car back in and they would check every part and make sure the car was good. It was good for about two months. I called Gus again and he said "too much time has passed, there is nothing we can do" so I had to bring it to my own mechanic and spend 900 dollars on parts that Nissan already claimed to fix. Not to mention, all 4 tires had bubbles in them. One blew out at a gas station, and the other just became flat. That was another $250. Fast forward to current situation.... I have wires coming out of my passenger seats floor under the glove compartment, a gas smell every time I turn the car on, and toxic fumes coming out of my vents when I put the AC on. Oh and let's not forget that my engine light is one. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this dealership. They should be shut down!!!!
