Bay Lighting was reasonable in its pricing and asked the right questions during the project discovery. On installation day, the team came on time and moved through the work extremely quickly and efficiently. The only item that caused a slight difficulty was an outdoor hugger-style fan that was to be installed in the stucco patio. But they got around it. I definitely recommend Bay Lighting for any fan/light installation needs. Especially if you have Lamps Plus products, as they have a lot of experience with those. read more

While the quality of work was exceptional and have hired them for multiple projects we are disappointed in the response from the main office. Recently we had electrical work done that the estimator determined would take 4 hours. The project only took 2 hours but we were charged for 4 hours. My husband challenged the charges the owner agreed and would refund the overcharge. He never did. The work was quite expensive and we have been loyal customers with all of our electrical updates performed by this company. Honesty in business is the most important quality. They replaced a broken ceiling fan, installed some dimmers and the major piece was to install a track light for art work. They were responsive when I contacted them, gave a quote based on photos I provided and were able to fit us in their schedule timely. There was good communication leading up to the appointment. The guys arrived in the given time window and worked quickly and efficiently and very cleanly. They were able to advise us on the optimal placing of the track light and proved knowledgeable on all the things they did. They also pointed out some bad electrical work done previously so we are prepared if anything needs attention in the future. I was happy with the price I paid for the work done. Here in Henderson, there is a great lighting store that has a large selection of chandeliers as well as ceiling fans and much more. My wife had a long time dream of having a crystal chandelier to hang over her large 8 person dining table. Since we just moved into a new house, she figured this was the time to go for it and she did. The lighting store recommended Bay Lighting for installation and said they had experience with large chandeliers. Speciality Chandeliers: Bay Lighting does have experience with assembling and hanging chandeliers. In fact, they want to know the brand name and model number of the item you want to install. The chandelier comes disassembled. Plus, they are heavy to very heavy. I opened the box and had a look at the components. I quickly decided this was beyond my abilities...and I wasn't sure the metal box in the ceiling would hold such a weight. If you are installing a real deal crystal chandelier...IMHO, you need professional assembly and installation. Ceiling Fans: We also were replacing some ceiling fans and had a bathroom exhaust fan that needed a replacement. Even though I found a replacement exhaust unit with a quiet motor that was designed to be installed as a replacement from below. The crew felt they had to enter the attic crawl space to do a quality job because there is an exhaust hose hookup involved as well as removal of the old unit. So there was an extra fee for the exhaust fan because it was not as simple as the ceiling fans. Quote: A phone call and a rundown of my work that I needed done resulted in a quote. He said they would have to look at the bathroom exhaust fan before giving a quote on that. So he looked at that first before giving a quote. The fan was for a toilet cubicle and it was important to ventilate that area well. So in our case it was worth the extra expense to get a quiet efficient fan that actually did the job. The height of the ceilings will also influence the price. Plus some ceiling fans are operated by remote controls and if the wall switches need to be modified then there is a price for that. I would say that Bay Lighting may not be the cheapest around, but, I know most electricians will decline the chandelier installation/assembly work. I felt the quotes for my 3 jobs were fair and were based on the amount of work involved. For example, the lamp structure itself took about 20 minutes to assemble and hang. But the actual assembly, stringing the crystals by hand while balancing on a ladder, took another hour. Customer Service: Pleasant and professional with good communications from beginning to end. They finished my 3 jobs within 3 hours and I will recommend them highly to anyone needing their speciality skills. They did a great job and cleaned up perfectly. These guys are 5 Stars! read more

I know I have written a great review for Bay Lighting already, but I have to say that we have used them 3 times and every time they do an excellent job in very little time. Vick helped us figure out how to change the direction with our fan using the remote. That was a big deal for us since we don't have a clue with those kinds of things. They changed the blades on our fan as a courtesy which was a huge thing for us. George & Vick work very well together and explain everything to us. They are also very nice and professional. I purchased a ceiling fan from Lamps Plus who recommended this business for installation. Shame on me for handing them over a check before fully inspecting. The hole in the ceiling from the prior light fixture was slightly larger than the canopy so there was a gap when they hung the fan and it looked terrible. They said nothing and I didn't notice it until they left. I certainly don't blame them for the size of the hole in the ceiling, but it would have been nice if they would have brought it to my attention, it's called customer service. Even when I spoke to a supervisor, he really didn't see anything wrong. Again, I'm not blaming them for the existing hole or even short change them on their labor, just wish they would have brought it to my attention since it looks terrible. Even if I had them take it down, I would have paid them for their labor. I live in a new build and was told that the light fixtures could be easily switched out for ceiling fans. I'm also aware that others in my development switched out lights for fans with no problem. What I purchased should have worked. Please tell your installers if something doesn't look right, let the homeowner know immediately. read more

I typically would have installed my own ceiling fan, but since I recently had shoulder surgery (and with a 14' ceiling height), I called Bay Lighting for a quote and installation date. Their quote was reasonable and they were very accommodating to meet my availability. Vick came out and did a great job. He laid out floor protection, assembled the fan and had it installed and tested within 30 minutes. It was evident Vick knew exactly how to assemble this 72" fan; he was friendly, professional, and cleaned up after himself. I bought a big chandelier for my over the stairs and I wanted it to be hung professionally. I called many companies to come and hang the chandelier but none of them did the job after coming and seeing the chandelier. Then I called Bay Lighting and they sent two electricians to my house - George and Vick. They were very professional and the nicest workers I have ever dealt with. When I showed them the chandelier they nicely said that they would hang it with no problem. They worked for four hours to hang this chandelier and they were very nice answering all of my questions very politely. They covered the stairs so there would be no mess during their work.
