We replaced an old broken bannister with a new one supplied and installed by Bay Area Stairs. The result was exactly what we wanted and as we had discussed. The delivered the assembled bannister and installed it in less than a day without any issues and for the price agreed. We are very pleased with the result and the excellent service provided.

Our house has a staircase that leads to the front door and over the years, rust has eaten away at the posts that go into the concrete. I've held off on getting this repaired because of budget concerns, but reached out to various companies on Yelp. Bay Area Stairs contacted me right away. I sent them pictures and they came out the next day. My initial contact was with Eric, but most of my contact was with Steve and Aric who were very professional and personable. They quoted me, explained the process in detail, and they got to work right away. They removed the old staircase, drilled new holes into the concrete, and replaced the staircase with a more sturdy iron staircase than what we had before. I told Steve growing up I never thought I'd be so happy to see a new iron staircase get installed! Our conversation started on Friday and the project was completed on Monday. Pricing was very competitive to other places and luckily I fit into an open spot in their schedule. I'm happy with their work and highly recommend them.

I spoke with a number of stair companies, but so glad we went with Bay Area Stairs. Began talking with Eric about the design and he offered me a number of options and styles. Victor, his craftsman, is a dream to work with and can make anything happen. Super professional shop and I recommend them highly!

We have several hundred feet of absolutely gorgeous mahogany handrails that ring a large raised deck. Unfortunately, the long curved sections that descend to the pool area had suffered from a lack of attention (totally my fault) and water intrusion and needed to be replaced. This was a daunting job - the wood had to match the cross-section and appearance of the existing railing, while curving and descending 2 stories. It is about 130 linear feet. Steve and Tom came out to survey the job and said, "no problem". I must confess to being skeptical given the complexity. They took the old sections, and a month later returned with beautiful matching replacements. Tom spent a week carefully aligning and hand fitting them to the steel structure. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of their work, and the overall professionalism. Unconditional recommendation - you will not be disappointed.

Pin bolt design up the staircase with stainless handrail

AMAZING! I dealt with Eric and his team (all gifted craftsmen). I have a townhouse which had a wrought iron (ugly & old) white painted railing that was bolted into the staircase. Eric worked with me about the modern transformation I wanted. The result far exceeded all my expectations! I chose the pin design up the staircase and channel design around the loft....Spectacular! I had changed my mind last minute to do the channel around the loft and Eric said no problem. Eric and his team repaired any issues caused when the old railing was removed so the finished product was perfect. This investment in my home was not inexpensive but well worth it!

Bay Area Stairs was the champion of our remodel experience. We did a major remodel in San Francisco that lasted almost a year. We selected Bay Area Stairs to do our stair railing based upon their strong reviews, excellent communications and fair price. We are certain we made the right choice. The results are stunning. Victor was our installer. He is a true craftsman. Our railing included covering an existing 4x4 post to integrate into the railing as a newel post. It looks perfect. I will try to add pictures to this review if possible. The wooden handrail with iron balusters is beautiful. Schedule was important to us and Bay Area Stairs completed the work in a week after the materials arrived at their location. Also Bay Area Stairs does both wood and iron work, an additional plus. Communications with Eric, our project coordinator, and Steve, the owner, were good. They were always responsive to inquiries and questions. Everyone we worked with from Bay Area Stairs seemed genuinely committed to providing a quality result.........and they did. Simply put, we are very pleased. Bay Area Stairs work is superb and we highly recommend them.

Outstanding service. Responded quickly to our inquiry. The work is high end. Prices are reasonable. They installed a guard rail and a hand rail. Came out perfect. I highly recommend them.

Thank you Bay Area Stairs in Benicia

Our goals were to create a bathroom that would allow us to age in place and to make a small bathroom more functional and appear larger. These goals were exceeded and then some. A+++ grade goes to Benicia Home Improvement. We especially appreciate that Benicia Home Improvement is a design/build company. This makes the remodel experience very efficient. We did not want to spend hours and effort shopping for materials. At the outset, we met with designer Angela to discuss goals and preferences. Materials such as shower surrounds, countertops, hardware and flooring were available on site for us to evaluate. (We could have shopped further afield if that was our choice.) With Angela's expert guidance, we settled on the design and materials, and then Joe and Cody took over the implementation of the vision. They did a fabulous job! The craftmanship was expert and superb. We especially appreciated their professional skills, dedication to communication with us and cleanliness of the worksite. In addition to being skillful, Joe and Cody are just nice, pleasant people to have in your home almost daily during the workweek for the duration of the project. Central office support was excellent. The Benicia Home Improvement owner, Jeff Laugen, is highly experienced in construction, personable, and readily available for any issues that might arise. The price he quoted us for the project was competitive and fair. Also outstanding were Jim, the troubleshooter in the field, and Kayla, who provides great administrative support. While most of the people on site were employees of Benicia Home Improvement, we were impressed with the subcontractors on our job, including Shawn, the shower glass guy, Omar the plumber and David the tile guy along with his helper, Dax (a Benicia Home Improvement employee). If you're considering a home improvement project, you can't do better than Benicia Home Improvement. For our next remodeling project, we'll look no further than this outstanding local business. We recommend them without reservation.

Although I've decided to put the project on hold for personal reasons (finishing a campervan project first!), I wanted to specifically highlight Ron's incredible professionalism and dedication. I did a lot of research for this project, and Green Group was the only one out of five companies that offered both competitive pricing and a payment plan that strictly followed California law. That level of transparency and commitment to legal standards is rare and was deeply appreciated. We spent over three weeks going back and forth on the quotation and contract details. Ron was extremely patient, answering every single question I had and providing a highly detailed, transparent 16-page proposal. If you're looking for a team that is thorough, communicative, and professional, I highly recommend reaching out to Ron. I am beyond furious with Julian and J&G Tile and Baths after hiring them for a simple shower…read moreremodel--it's been a complete disaster! They ignored the contract entirely, skipping vital steps like setting the shower pan in mortar, leaving me with a crooked, flimsy base that flexes under my feet (see photo). Julian canceled on me FIVE TIMES in two weeks which caused me to cancel and reschedule incoming sheetrock and painting contractors. The shower head? Installed at a ridiculous 5 feet--like that's remotely usable. They even had the nerve to lie about shimming the base properly. Now I'm stuck paying another contractor to rip out their garbage work and start from scratch. Thousands of dollars added to the project and weeks lost in time. This company is a total sham--unreliable, incompetent, and a waste of money. The picture speaks for itself, just look at the huge gap under the shower pan that Julian thought was acceptable. Stay far away! Update: Had to have a contractor remove the shower installed by J & G Tile and found a complete lack of skill, knowledge and integrity. The following was noted on demolition: 1. Shower pan was not shimmed, set in mortar to level and sealed around the edges. 2. Plumbers putty was not used to seal the drain into the shower pan. 3. Shower head was not secured to the wall and moved around freely. 4. Silicon sealant was not applied under the wall when setting the walls. 5. Use of proper adhesive was not used to secure walls. This is the most upsetting as there was literally six small drops of caulking and a splash of silicon on the back. When the wall was removed it was pulled away by just using hand leverage. Someone could have been injured or killed had the wall come lose with it weighing several hundred pounds.
