Over a period of three days, Trace and his assistant proceeded to make child's play of an upgrade that most electricians might have declined given the number of special features I was seeking (whole house surge suppression, dedicated lines, noise suppression, ground conditioners and more). While I had reached out to other good people and received quotes from several companies, only Trace took the time to research the specialty items on my list and to follow up with many good suggestions. When all was complete, my project sailed through inspection with the City of Benicia and the low noise results we achieved in my home confirmed my decision to go with the highly competitive quote I received from Electric Empire. All in all, my experience with Trace was one of professionalism and excellence (from the drywall openings and panel workmanship to the communication and invoicing). Things to note: they offer free estimates, but if you need troubleshooting like we did, the current rate is $200 the first hour and $100 per additional hour needed. If it's a simple fix like ours, you pay the troubleshooting cost plus any materials used. They were able to replace our breaker for us the same day as the scheduled diagnostic which was a great peace of mind for us. My laundry room shares a common wall with the garage so he flipped the outlet, changed its type for the car, capped the old outlet box and gave me the old part in case it ever needed to be reversed. He even plugged my car in for me! The work is clean like a professional install should look. Same goes for the fixtures in the bathroom--they're installed immaculately.
