Today I decided that I was going to get a tattoo. I went to one other place first and they did not like that I did not have an appointment so I looked for other tattoo places in the area. I called and the guy that answered the phone was pleasant and said that walk-ins are welcome. Bay Area Inkspot is right off of the highway in a new shopping plaza. This place is great! The people there are clean and friendly. They don't give you that "we are too cool for you" vibe. I had my own design all worked out so it was fast while he drew it out. I was lucky enough to get to be in a private room and they let my friend come back with me. The artist was friendly, but not overly talkative. I felt totally comfortable throughout the whole experience. This was my third and Best tattoo, and also the cheapest. read more

After reading the reviews on yelp I drove down to this place. I talk to the people and they said to talk to Jorel. I did and he gave me his email address said email me your pictures and he'll be in touch. After 3 emails and no reply (a couple of weeks went by) I drove down there. He was with a customer so I said OK can you have him get a hold of me I also made an appointment. I still hadn't heard from him. I contacted another employee who want to charge WAY to much for what I wanted. The piece I wanted means a lot to me. Its to honor a memory. Customer service is a lot. I have to say there's a lot of good reviews here but I have my opinion and I have to give them a two star . Nice place but I'm not so sure if I'm happy with the work (tattoo) my bf came in to get a tattoo done and want something to rep his country (Filipino flag ) but his tattoo looks like my daughters drawing . Sorry . And he came twice to get his color done the first time the color faded which we don't understand why if we're treating it right . Plus our tattoo guy missed helllaaaaa spots not colored in right. Second time we came in to get it re color still faded and still missing lots of spot . Professional Artist with a gifted hand. Super talented with his color schemes as well as his black and gray work. He usually is booked up but he is worth the wait! I went here earlier today for my sister's first tattoo and get an additional one for myself. From the moment we walked into the shop we had amazing customer service. Bryan was our tattoo artist but the other person working was super welcoming as well. Bryan was super patient with our tattoo requests and concerns and even helped us pick out the perfect design and size for our specific preference. My best friend and I went in together to get tattoos, on August 1st, 2012. My husband went with us, and he got a tattoo as well. We all had our work done by Jesse. I am thrilled with the work that he did for all of us. So thrilled, in fact, that I had to go back on Wednesday, and get another tattoo. This from the girl who really only planned on having one. I know have a tattoo on my left foot, and my right foot, and I love them both. Jesse is a phenomenal artist, who does a lot of his work in black, and shading. I love this place! The artist are friendly and I was matched up with an artist to suit my taste by simply expressing 5 words. Sean came out and drew what I wanted, how I wanted, with only a stick figure and a brief relation of what I wanted... No pictures provided and I loved it! He gave me my first color tattoo (I was scared as hell to convert to color) but I am glad I made the switch. I then went in for my entire Breast plate out line and Sean handled my chest with ease and precision. He is light handed and quick with the steel! I am able to laugh and relax while getting tattooed on one of the most painful spots on the body. Sean listens to what I want my tattoo to look like and never gets upset even when I can be extremely pushy with the way I want the art to look. Took my husband in for a birthday tattoo. Jorel hooked him up big time. He added some shading and lettering to an existing tattoo on his forearm. It totally transformed it into a legit arm piece. I had been following Irene on Instagram for quite a while before deciding to get my first tattoo here, I saw how great her work was. My boyfriend and I walked in and I was happy that Irene was available. Unfortunately, the whole experience was not what I had anticipated. She had an attitude, and the whole time she was tattooing there was an awkward silence. Meanwhile, my boyfriend was having a blast getting tattooed by Benjamin. First this isn't a review to say bad things about Bay Area Ink, my last three tattoos came from them. So they have Happy Hour Wednesdays ($40.00 tattoo the size of a post it). I love tattoos, but yet none of mine that are visual are huge so this deal was perfect for me. Like I said the last three I was able to get in on the $40.00 deal. My son has been to them the past month and received two more tattoo. So just recently (like last week) my son goes in on a Wednesday and inquire in the $40.00 happy hour tattoo. Apparently they had a longgg wait because folks that aren't getting the special is there getting tats or they had folks coming in with appointment (not the deal) and was taking the time of the artist. OK! So this week I joined my son and we drive out. As soon as I mentioned the deal I was told they wouldn't have time, he asked on of the artist and he said he was booked up til 10 (it was a little before 6) and then another artist had an appointment coming in. My son walked out because he said that's been going on for awhile. So dude tells me I'm sorry, but maybe come early next time... I told him "I work", which means I can't get there no earlier, yet my son gets off at 11:00 a.m., and when we went by the previous week he still wasn't able to get in. So here's my issue... WHY still have the special if there's no artists available. I understand that if you are able to come in early then yes, you'll get the special, but most folks work and can't come in til after 5:00 p.m. I was disappointed... but just maybe thought they maybe they are trying to get rid of the special altogether. IDK Don't have time to keep going back so I guess I'll have to go somewhere else, hate this because I really like Bay Area Ink, but I think they are BS about the special. read more

Bring your own exact artwork or come away with something less desirable. They requested photos or drawings sent via email and the artist didn't seem to have any idea what I wanted when I got there. That being the case, tattoo artists should spend the extra time speaking with the clients to get the idea down before rushing in to work. Draw it out on paper! Also, they should not be distracted by new clients or children running around in the shop as I'm paying for time. First time around the artist helped a walk-in for almost 15 minutes and I paid for that time! Focus should be on the artwork as it is permanent. Price is comparable to most in the area but I'd gladly pay more for something I can really be happy with. Went back in for touch up and extra work and got charged for the touch up too. The place is clean but has no AC in midsummer ... seriously?? Bring some cash in small denominations as they don't carry change. My last tat was a bad experience and took me a couple years to decide on another. Unfortunately, this experience isn't any better and would probably be my last. read more
