She explained that Andrew preferred to have direct email contact with the person who was going to be tattooed. Again, my confidence level rose. That word should never be used in a professional setting, and it was especially unsettling because it was being used casually by the Mexican artists in the shop. It's not about being overly sensitive; it's about basic respect and professionalism. I worked with Bryan, who I initially thought was nice, but I ended up feeling taken advantage of. He spoke in a very manipulative, mansplaining tone, as if I didn't know how tattoo pricing works -- even though I've had multiple tattoos done before and have never been treated that way. On top of that, the environment was chaotic: the music was so loud you could literally feel the floor shaking from the bass, conversations among staff were often inappropriate, and there were constant cigarette breaks that delayed the process and made it hard to focus. I honestly think that's part of why it took so long for my design to even be made. While my tattoo itself turned out nice, the overall experience was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and not something I'd ever want to repeat. I would never recommend this shop to anyone -- professionalism, respect, and boundaries should be a standard in any tattoo environment, and unfortunately, this place missed the mark completely.DONT GO HERE!!

Shelby responded promptly to my inquiry, answered all of my questions, and made the entire process easy from the very beginning. I already had my heart set on a lotus flower because I loved the symbolism behind it, but I also let Shelby know that if he thought another design would work better as a cover-up, I was completely open to his professional opinion. He agreed the lotus would be a great choice, and we talked about incorporating color into the design. He was genuinely excited about the project, and he absolutely executed it beautifully. The appointment itself was relaxed, professional, and took about an hour. Shelby explained everything throughout the process, including the possibility that some of the original tattoo could faintly "ghost" through during healing and that, if it did, he'd happily touch it up at no charge. I really appreciated his honesty and the fact that he stands behind his work. On top of that, the atmosphere was great. He had an awesome playlist going and even introduced me to a band I'd never heard before--The Teskey Brothers (check them out!)--which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I couldn't be happier with the final result. He took a tattoo that no longer represented who I am and transformed it into something beautiful and meaningful. The lotus symbolizes growth, resilience, and new beginnings, making it the perfect choice for this new chapter of my life. It's only Day 1, but I already love it.
