This place was great. Clean and friendly. Lobby had a nice area to hang out. In parking lot with Family dollar so could grab snacks and drinks. Service here was great. We called last minute at around 445pm on a Wednesday. We had just left the burial ceremony for our grandma. My sister had not gotten her rose tattoo that all the girl cousins had gotten 2 years ago. We called and they were able to accomodating my sister getting a small tattoo. The price was right. The artist was friendly. My sister enjoyed her experience. I would recommend this business.
I love this shop! I came in to get a puppy portrait from @jonnyrockettattoos and he absolutely killed it! Love the staff at this shop great vibes! Clean and Professional Highly Recommended!
My artist was amazing! I booked with Jonny. This session was 3 and half hours and the pain wasn't too bad. He's super professional, really funny, and responds fast on Instagram! I love this tattoo. I'll definitely be going back again soon.
Sue Monsta gave my tatttoo a soul. She was cool, respectful, and took her time... she is a damn good artist. I would recommend Sue to anyone, anytime. I felt welcomed, I felt listened to and most of all my tattoo came out AMAZING!!! When I got in my car to leave I cried... no joke. I found her on a Bay Area tattoo group on Facebook. Her work is fire... We listened to some good music, laughed and she was very professional. My tattoo healed beautifully. I had a horrible experience my first time I got this tattoo. She made that horrible memory fade away and I am so in love with my tattoo now. I can finally show off this piece of art to honor my dear friend who committed suicide. Much love and respect sue @sue_monsta
Got my first tattoo with Jonny, amazing artist, very friendly made the experience very easy and comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about anime and took the design idea I had an created a bad ass tattoo. The attention to detail and work he put into the tattoo is crazy good. I will definitely be back for all my future tattoos.
It's not often we get to write reviews about businesses that have changed our lives for the better, and that we know for a fact we'll remember for the rest of our lives! But the tattoo shop most definitely fits the bill. I'm SO grateful to have found Bay Area Inkspot, they have been a haven for me on the great journey my tattoo life has become. Every experience is very personal, and for me I chose the artist, and followed him to his shop. I really liked Gabriel Keeling's work in IG, and in chatting with him about ideas, I realized quickly that he would be a great fit for me - super respectful and patient with the process of designing what would become my first tattoo, answering all my questions, and most importantly reassuring me that he wanted me to be happy, encouraging me to speak up at every turn so that what wound up permanently on my skin I would be happy with. I will forever be grateful for that. First timers especially, I highly encourage confirming that you have a great dialogue with your artist! Gabriel has been wonderful throughout the process of my two current tattoos, and soon we'll be inking out my third! The shop is modest and located in a shopping center near 242. It's not the prettiest from the outside, but it's a great environment within - cool and comfortable, great chairs, music playing, mirrors mounted high so you can watch the process from all angles. All the artists have a rapport too, it's fun to hear them all chat with each other about work, and client stories. This shop will always have a place in my heart, and I have incredible sense memories of the hours I've spent here. It might be easy for some to treat the tattoo shop experience as no big deal. But I know every time I walk through those doors I'm one step closer to continuing turning my body into a personal work of art, all mine and yet the work of great collaboration. I hope everyone's tattoo experience is, or will be, as positive as mine. I can't wait to return!
My mom and I went to get matching tattoos on 12/5 with Chris and had a very pleasant experience with him as well as the entire shop. Everyone was very helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in and filling out our information on their system upon arrival. I felt a warm welcoming vibe with all the artists amongst one another and their clients. Chris was great, he has a lot of experience and was able to go above and beyond our expectations for the tattoos and put his own spin on them, which we welcomed and LOVED. I will add that everything was extremely clean and sanitary since we're currently in COVID times, it's that much more important. I will definitely be coming back to Chris! Thanks for the tatts and amazing hospitality!
Victor was great! Very professional, clean environment, respectful, and patient. I told him what I wanted and he delivered for sure. He also made sure to take his time for the best possible outcome. I plan on coming back for another piece to add in to my sleeve very soon. Highly recommend.
I very rarely leave reviews, but my mind is still swimming after my first (of many) visits to Bay Area Inkspot. I heard about Ron's work from close family and finally had the chance to book with him, and there aren't enough words in the English language to describe just how much I love my new tattoo. I booked with him through instagram DMs and he was timely and professional. I didn't get to see a mock-up of my tattoo request until my appointment, but boy, it really blew me out of the water. He sketched the whole thing on the spot, and boy, I couldn't be happier. I had previously been told for my last tattoo that it was impossible to capture any finer details and that I would have to get it large (and it is LARGE) in order for it to look great, but Ron managed to fit everything and more into the space I wanted filled. As you can see from the picture below, though--Ron's attention to detail is incredible. The tattoos are reasonably priced here, too. My session with Ron (about 2 hours) was only $200 plus my $100 deposit. I was expecting to spend much much more. Johnny and Jorel were also in the shop at the same time, and they were awesome! I got to see some of their work in real-time, and these guys really helped added to the tight-knit atmosphere. We were there from around 10am-5pm and we were nothing short of entertained by the conversations that were happening. For any tattoo cravings, I'll be sure to hit up Bay Area Inkspot!
I love this place so much. A friend recommended this place after she had some beautiful roses done by Jorel. Everyone here is very kind and professional, the shop is very clean and professional. I've gone to this tattoo shop twice and both times Sue was my tattoo artist. I really loved her work, both what she's previously done and the ones she did for me. She's very nice, funny, and chill. Both times I walk in nervous and Sue just makes you feel really calm and in safe hands, she really knows what she's doing. I plan to continue coming here for my future tattoos. Wasn't disappointed.
Kyle is the best! He's the most personable, fun tattoo artist I've ever been too and I'll forever trust him with anything artwork I want on my body. My best friend and I came in for matching tattoos and he took a picture of our hands and drew the piece right in front of us. He took his is time with everything and made the experience that much better can't wait to go back to this shop for any other work I get done!

Jorel is an amazing artist and always makes us feel at home! These 2 tattoos are the 3rd and fourth tattoos he has done for my family. My daughter wanted her grandmothers writing in a saying she used to always say to her before she passed. We didn't have the actual words in her writing, but we told him the saying and we had something she wrote, so he was able to quickly copy her writing and create this simple but meaningful tattoo. Thanks for always keeping us happy! read more

I went to Mike Kim for my first tattoo. He explained the process very clearly and kept asking if I had any more questions. The shop was super clean and everyone working there was nice. I have no regrets going to Mike. He gave me exactly what I asked for and made little adjustments I asked for with no problem. 10/10 recommend. Thank you! read more

Jonny Rocket is a tattoo wizard, I've been getting tattooed by him for almost 11 years now. All you need to do is give him all your ideas, wants, even silly ideas and he'll concoct a brilliant custom forever artistic piece for you. He's personable, professional and a real character. After all these years he's become my whole family's Artist as well. Thank you Jonny for sharing all your knowledge, creative ideas and skills over the last decade. read more

Great experience!!! I found Jonny Rocket tattoos through a sub Reddit and reached out. He responded quickly and I made an appointment for a full day session. I didn't know what to expect when I came in for a cover up of a huge, ugly, dark tattoo, but I put trust in Jonny and was not disappointed. Tattoo came out far better than I could have hoped and we had fun while doing it. I recommend to anyone. read more

I am only giving 1 star because the owner of the store did the right thing by giving me and my friends our money back; but I literally had to get it through the artists head that my tattoo and my two friends tattoos were AWFUL. (He knew it too-just refused to admit it out loud; which I understand). We went in for a small outlined heart tattoo and left with permanent chicken scratch. I cannot believe I am now stuck with a terrible tattoo for the rest of my life. I pray a PROFESSIONAL artist can fix this nightmare. The whole thing was handled very inappropriately as well. I discussed the problem with the owner of the store WHILE HE WAS TATTOOING another customer!!! What in the world?! PLEASE take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think. The quality of the work is POOR and SLOPPY for such a simple piece. This tattoo is a simple design that I think any artist should be able to execute without mistake. Now I am no professional or ink master but I know a terrible tattoo when I see one. We walked in and they seemed interested in helping us until we asked for shop minimum; that's when all effort disappeared. They only spent about 1-2 minutes on each tattoo; amongst myself and two friends. The owner was also yelling at his apprentice for putting the needle into the tattoo gun improperly before my friend received her tattoo. In a nutshell, this was a horrible experience. I do however appreciate the owner doing the right thing refunding our money. What I learned was to follow my gut. I will forever continue to speak up when I feel I am being manipulated or taken advantage of. Just some advice for other young women who may encounter this situation. Also this was my third tattoo so not my first tattoo experience but by far the only worst tattoo I have. Way to screw it up unprofessionals! My friend just got her tattoo fixed at another tattoo shop, I mean look at that difference? The artist asked if she let a friend do the tattoo-NO!! How embarrassing for this business. Such a disappointment. read more

My sister-in-law and I were scoping out tattoo shops in the area to get some simple, small tattoos done. We read through reviews and looked at photos of a lot of surrounding shops, and finally decided Bay Area Inkspot was the best. We were walk-ins and our experience was great. Bryan did my small dots tattoo and was really informative. I showed him the original design I had in mind, and he let me know that it wouldn't last long because the small open circle design would eventually collapse in on itself after full healing. I really appreciated the transparency and suggestions he shared. While we were there we checked out the portfolios of all the artists. Kyle's really stood out to me because he has done some mandala-style work, which is what I've had in mind for a couple years. I didn't get my lotus tattoo that day. What I did (and I highly recommend doing this no matter who your artist is) was stalk his Instagram for a few weeks to make sure I was really into his work. When I got my first tattoo 8 years ago in Florida I just walked into a shop, picked out something off the wall, and sat down with whoever was available, without asking to see what his previous work was or anything. This time around I wanted to do my homework, especially for a tattoo that means something to me. So I went through basically all of Kyle's Instagram photos, checked out his lines, his designs, everything. I loved all his work, so I hit him up (he conveniently has a 'Text' link on his Instagram) and scheduled a session with him. He asked to see pictures of what I had in mind. I came in for my 4pm appointment later that week, sat with him for ~45 minutes as he drew up the design and asked my thoughts, then the tattooing part took about 4 hours. I really appreciate the fact that he's meticulous, hence why all his work is so good. He'd ask if I needed breaks to stand up and stretch, which was very considerate. It was also nice that he's super chill and easy to talk to. Be kinda weird if you're spending 5 hours with someone who was stand-offish and awkwardly quiet. I'm so in love with the finished piece! It's even better than what I had been envisioning over the last 2.5 years. Kyle is really talented, and I have a feeling he's gonna blow up in the Bay Area so I consider myself lucky to have been able to score an appointment. I told Kyle that my husband and I are planning baby #2 soon, but if plans change then I'm definitely coming back to him for my next tattoo in the coming months. Highly recommend him and this shop! read more

Sue Monsta is an amazing artist. Awesome tattoo spot in the Bay with a comfortable and chill vibe. I researched several tattoo shops for the last year and was referred to Bay Area Inkspot and Sue by a friend. Her tattoo came out awesome, so I booked an appointment within the next week. I had an idea of what I wanted and had a couple different pictures to show Sue. She was patient with me creating the pattern and showed me a couple different designs before drawing the stencil. I gotta say, I loved the design on the stencil, but the actual tattoo came out unbelievable! So much detail. Sue Monsta did awesome work and I absolutely love my new tattoo. I already received so many compliments on the tattoo and made sure everyone knew it was done by Sue at Bay Area Inkspot. I'm already looking forward to my next tattoo in the near future. Sue is definitely my artist moving forward. Thank you for the awesome artwork, Sue, and I look forward to future artwork done by you. Go check out Sue and Bay Area Inkspot! read more

I went in to get a butterfly tattoo by Jorel in memory of my Abuela (grandma) I never imagined it would come out this good. I had the opportunity to have two tattoos done by two AMAZING artists!!! My daughter whom is an avid comic book artist, created her own character she wanted me to get above her initials I got when she was born. BenGee took so much care and attention to detail and made it EXACTLY as she had drawn it. He was such a pleasure to have work on my arm that I will be back to get my full sleeve done by him. Customer for life:). I also had the intense pleasure to have Jeff Davis do his first neck tattoo of a rose he designed. It is like nothing I have ever seen before! His artistic style is his own and the result is pure beauty. I keep looking in the mirror in awe of how truly fantastic it really is. He was guesting here and anytime he comes back I am making an appointment. Do not hesitate to go here, run, everyone is awesome and they will all take awesome care of you read more

I went here with one of my other friends on Wednesday for our first tattoos. I was a little worried that there were no pictures of the place, but when we went in it was very clean and everyone was super nice. It was also a plus that this place is right off the highway! Super easy to find :) Both my friend and I got our tattoos with Irene and we would both definitely go back. I got an Eevee on my shoulder blade and she really helped bring Eevee into the focus of the tattoo. Instead of getting an exact copy of what I'd planned, Irene really helped make the original Eevee unique and something that was totally just hers and mine. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied with my tattoo, the attitudes of all the artists and the cleanliness of the place. Everything went above and beyond my standards. I would definitely recommend this place to other people! :) read more
