Amazing work. My coverup? Amazing (didn't think it could be done). My realistic raiders chola? Flawless. People compliment it all the time. I definitely recommend. The guys are so nice in there. The owner even got along well with my mother (rip) which is why I'll go back. Good vibes. read more

I have wanted to bring my old tats back to life for a while. I absolutely love how you improved my ancient ink! Will post picks soon!

Yeh tried to go there (like we did in 2023) for a quick Friday 13th tat. We got there at 6, there were a bunch of people that showed up just after us so we were quick to turn in our sheets so we could be in and out. 3.5 hours later and only two out of four in my group got in and I'm even though I was there before anyone else, I left with no tattoo. Their disorganization and lack of giving a shit was now a complete waste of my time and we will never go back to this hack of a shop! Really they deserve ZERO stars!!! read more

I have over 10 tattoos and I've never had an issue. I got this two months ago. It was never infected (no redness or puss), but it was very sore and the whole area was swollen for over a week, more than normal in my experience. I followed instructions and my normal routine when nursing a new tattoo. I've never experienced what I experienced. Part of the heart got a large bumpy scab and it is now a scar. You can see in the photo, the darker part at the top of the heart, which is still bumpy. You can also see that the color is very blotchy and uneven. I've gone to another artist who said that he could fix it. He also said that there was too much trauma to that small of an area. I hate to pay more but I don't feel comfortable going back to the original artist for a touch up. This was a tattoo to honor my dog who passed, so it's really upsetting. read more

Love the tats my boyfriend and I got from James! Very chill place and great work and artist!

DV8 has a new loyal customer! My forward helix piercing came off in the shower tonight, and I was scrambling to find a piercer that would put it in. DV8 came to the rescue! I gave them a call and was able to be seen immediately. Within 5 minutes I was good to go, and my fresh piercing has its jewelry back in. I've had jewelry swapped at other piercers, and this was by FAR the most gentle and painless swap. 10/10 friendly piercers, clean place, and extremely professional. I definitely will be back to get pierced here soon. read more

I wish I can give this place zero stars, this place is horrible, so disrespectful. I received tattoos from this place before by Nathan. Long story short didn't recognize it was him, but remembered by face. Joshua, is the dude I spoke with over phone, should have went with my intuition at the time. He is a very spiteful person. When I originally wanted Nathan to do the ink. I did call to speak with Nathan since he is the owner. That caused more drama. When they say boys gossip more the woman it's true. Nathan had told Joshua that originally I wanted Nathan to do the ink work. I already went in for a consultation and put down a $40 deposit. I didn't cancel the appointment I showed up. Joshua was reluctant to do the Tatoo Bc he got ass hurt. Told me the money was already Eatin into and keep the deposit without doing the ink work. This place is not trusted, horrible at costumer service, disrespectful. What's even more sad is the owner Nathan caused the drama. Everything slick don't slide, and just cause I let it slide. Don't think ur slick. Well I hope $40 is worth the Karma. You'll remember my ass when it hits. read more

I had an amazing experience with DV8 Tattoos. I went for their Friday the 13th tattoo deal and they didn't disappoint. Instantly the vibe was great, they welcomed me and made me feel like I was a regular even though this was my very first time coming into the shop. They explained the rules and prices clearly and then I got put in James's chair. James was such a chill artist. We had small talk, joked around and he kept checking on me to see how I was doing throughout the process. Definitely will be coming back for either another tattoo or trying out a new piercing! read more

I found DV8 through a local search and checked out the artists instagram pages a while back. I've been following one for a couple years now and finally had my heart set on a design. I reached out through Instagram and James immediately got started on my design and was happy to make any edits I requested. I made an appointment (within a couple short days) and got my first tattoo yesterday. The attention to detail is simply amazing, the colors are bright and exactly what I was looking for, and the vibe of the shop was very chill. Everyone was happy to be there, workers and customers included. I had an image in my head and James was able to turn that to reality. It was an overall great experience and my wife is already planning on returning for a new tattoo or two. The image attached was about 1 hour after it was all finished. Very clean looking and looks to be healing very nicely. Couldn't recommend this shop more! James and Nathan are professionals that are customer-first. Bonus, you get to watch whatever movie(s) you want while getting tatted. I will definitely be back! Thanks guys! read more

Went to DV8 for a nose stud. Had been wanting one for over a decade. Here I am a rather straight laced gal and the artists here did not treat me any differently than anyone else. Mich made me feel comfortable and was very professional. The piercing smarted, but I expected that. The instructions on caring for my piercing were amusing, "treat it like a friend and don't " f " with it" One day later, it is feeling much better. Mich, thanks for the advice and a great job! Thinking about a tattoo and when I decide to do it, I will go here. Their atmosphere was very welcoming, clean and the artwork pretty fab. read more

This is the place to go for tattoos. I first went in to fix a snake tattoo another shop did that wasn't too great. Octavio worked on the snake tattoo and I ended coming back for more tattoos. He is so nice and funny. He works on ur tattoo without taking hella breaks or talking to others. I've just had bad experiences with other people taking smoke breaks and more worried about talking to others then working on the tattoo. Octavio stays focused on his work and gives u his advise to make sure the tattoo comes out good. I love his work. I also met the owner of the shop and what a nice guy. I highly recommend this shop to everyone looking to get their next tattoo. I'm hoping to return in a few weeks to get a few more tattoos. read more

I love my tattoo and its my favorite so far especially since it means so much to me- I will be coming back! Thank you again Patrick See u soon! Only down fall is parking-It sucks read more

Great overall experience! Walked in and everyone was friendly as could be. Honest prices, and clean shop. I talked to J.C Powers about the piece I wanted. He was friendly and drew up an amazing design I couldn't be happier with. He emailed me while he worked on the piece throughout the week and was really dedicated to making sure I loved the tattoo. And I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I went in to get the tattoo and had a great time. It was a warm happy environment and I honestly enjoyed all three hours of my tattoo. I would go there again in a heart beat. All the artists are great but I personally would recommend J.C Powers. He was awesome! Can't recommend him enough! read more

Josh of DV8 gave me my first tattoo in February of this year. I walked in around 9:00 one Saturday night, and hemmed and hawed a bit, and then choose a tattoo. Josh took the pic, completely changed it, and tattooed me. An open red rose, with leaves, and a black tribal-type backing. Josh and the guys in the shop took the time to make me comfortable, and help me get prepared to have ink and needle put to my skin. Throughout the entire process Josh and guys in the shop were great - they joked around, answered my questions, and made this a wonderful experience. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've seen. It's driven me to get the other tattoos I now have...and the ones I plan to get in the future. Mahalo nui loa, Josh! Meli read more

I just wanted to say what a great experience i had getting my piercing today by piercer Seven Pierce. I got a Daith piercing and was really nervous but he helped me calm my nerves with his great professionalism. He made sure everything he was using on me was sterilized and didnt just rush through the piercing. I can honestly say it barley hurt and he took really great care of me. He also gave me very good after care instructions about my piercing as well. From now on any piercing i get i will only get from him, i plan to get a second Daith piercing done very soon. Please give this place a try! Love the energy and the talent! I had a terrible experience at another tattoo shop due to the unprofessionalism of one of their artists, that I left mid session. I'm reviewing you Roper - my new most favorite tattoo artist in the world! For my daughter's 20th birthday last week she decided she wanted to get matching tattoos with me - I felt like the best momma in the world when she said that!! Being an illustrated woman in my own right, I agreed. I told her you pick it out and I will set it up! We head down for matching dragonfly tattoos - I already had three dragonflies but this is my daughters pick and I'm down with whatever she wants. Hell, she could have picked an artichoke wearing a sombrero and I'd have said "lets do it!" Do it, we did. My daughter's tattoo cherry has been popped. I told her to give it a year she will be working on sleeves. She said it hurts and she doubts it - I say, "yeah, that is what I said too!" And, look at me now! Thank you Roper for hooking us up. You are my tattoo hero. I cannot wait to have you do more work on me. I'd give 100 more stars if I could just for the mere fact that my daughter thinks I'm cool enough to get matching tattoos with! read more

I love this place! It's clean, the guys are funny and personable but completely professional when it's time to work, and I always feel welcome here. I've gone a couple of times to get tattoos by Nate, and I'll keep going until I'm "done" or he retires. I'm sticking to him as my artist, but all the guys are really talented and I've recommended this place to everyone who's ever asked me a good place to go. And when asked, "Is there a certain artist I should ask for?" I always say, "Go in talk to them about what you want and they'll set you up with the guy who can make it happen." Had my daughters ears pierced here so that it would be done with a needle, not a gun. She was real nervous when it was time to sit down, but the piercer was so nice, calm and soft spoken that he instantly put her at ease. All around... BEST place to go if you want a tattoo or piercing! read more

Honestly, I'm disappointed that I had a bad experience here. I've came in here before for both tattoos and piercings and never had any complaints. Til now. First and foremost, the staff are great and friendly. Very personable. The work I got done is not the greatest. My husband and I got the king and queen of hearts and the lines are not smooth. The heart doesn't look good, my husbands heart looks like a circle. The whole tattoo was supposed to be thin lines, he went over the Q about 5 times! I should've been worried when he said he couldn't see what he was doing. But I thought he was just joking around. Totally not worth the money we've paid. Now I gotta go elsewhere to have it look decent. I've wrote our artist through fb & email and still no response. I actually read on his fb that he's a professional piercer?! Maybe that's why it came out the way it did. If he would've just said he wasn't comfortable then I would understand. But, he told us yes he could do it and A messed up job was what we got. I'm just sad cuz this is gonna be on my body forever when I don't even like it. read more

I had a 10/10 experience here when I came for a quick walk-in tattoo on a weekday! Casper was kind, good-humored, and made me feel comfortable and understood. It was just him and I in the shop and we had a really nice conversation while he tattooed me swiftly with confident professionalism. I am extremely happy with the tattoo, I just got one word on my arm and the lettering is precise and clean. I'm definitely returning here sometime and recommending this shop to my friends! read more

Absolutely love this place, hands down my favorite shop in the East Bay. First off, I'll start with negative. There's only 1 negative really, and that is that the place is tiny. Also, just a heads up, they don't have a piercer anymore, only tattoo artists. Now, onto the good stuff. So far, I've gotten 2 tattoos here. One from Nate (the owner). His apprentice was supposed to tattoo me, but was feeling a little under the weather, and he sat right down, pulled out his equipment and gave me a great tattoo. My second, which I got done yesterday, is probably my favorite tattoo so far. It was done by Patrick. They've got a good group of guys in there, they don't mind chatting if you're waiting around or getting tattooed, and all of them are amazing artists. This is definitely a spot to come in if you're looking for new ink. read more

GO TO PATRICK! Hands down. This guy knows what he's doing. If you love vibrant colorful tattoos drawn and tatted beautifully, than this guy is for you! He knows exactly how to play with colors and add the right shading and contrast to make a beautiful tattoo even more beautiful with vibrant color that will look just as bright, colorful, and of course, beautiful as the day you got it tatted on you years later. I'm Filipino and Salvadorian, so I have brown skin that likes to tan in the summer time. About two years ago I got a tiger lily tatted on my chest by Patrick and I recently I got a cover up tattoo and added a hummingbird next to my tiger lily on Wednesday 7/24/2013 and I kid you not my tiger lily looks just as vibrant and colorful as the tattoos I just got on Wednesday. I know that when my new tattoos heal they will stay just as vibrant and gorgeous even with my brown skin during the summer time! I absolutely love my tattoos done by Patrick. They're my favorite tattoos on my body because they're the only ones that stayed looking beautiful. Lol.. I have decided that I will only be going to Patrick when I get more tattoos and I suggest you do the same. read more

I just got my second tattoo from Casper, and he is fabulous. He does such a great job of considering your inspiration/source material and using it to create a custom piece that expresses your personality. I can not begin to express the gratitude, and enthusiasm I have for the quality of work by Casper at DV8 Tattoo and Piercing in Concord California. Casper is modest and very talented! I was lucky to learn about him through word of mouth. I met a young woman who had some of the most AMAZING ARTWORK tattoos I had ever seen. Beautifully drawn and shaded flowers, butterflies, and symbols in perfect fluid patterns. About a year later, I met a man with a full sleeve of musical instruments done with that same, recognizable detail, and fluidity. After a conversation, I learned that he and the young woman I had met, had both seen Casper at DV8 in Concord. Casper is very skilled. He loves his work, and it shows! I went to him with a few very poorly done tattoos, and I got more of a transformation than a cover-up! The fluidity I had seen in his work comes from his ability to freehand his tattoo designs so they will flow, fit, and compliment you personally. The result? I received beautiful, personalized, original artwork that was uniquely tailored just for me. Casper made me feel at home. He listened to me, was polite, courteous, and professional The shop was clean, and the art on the walls was tasteful. I enjoyed my experience so much I had two more tattoos done! Now my tattoos express my spirit. They are free-handed, flowing, detailed, and creative! They are everything I wished for and more! Thank you Casper! Sincerely, Claire read more
