Yeh tried to go there (like we did in 2023) for a quick Friday 13th tat. We got there at 6, there were a bunch of people that showed up just after us so we were quick to turn in our sheets so we could be in and out. 3.5 hours later and only two out of four in my group got in and I'm even though I was there before anyone else, I left with no tattoo. Their disorganization and lack of giving a shit was now a complete waste of my time and we will never go back to this hack of a shop! Really they deserve ZERO stars!!! read more

I have over 10 tattoos and I've never had an issue. I got this two months ago. It was never infected (no redness or puss), but it was very sore and the whole area was swollen for over a week, more than normal in my experience. I followed instructions and my normal routine when nursing a new tattoo. I've never experienced what I experienced. Part of the heart got a large bumpy scab and it is now a scar. You can see in the photo, the darker part at the top of the heart, which is still bumpy. You can also see that the color is very blotchy and uneven. I've gone to another artist who said that he could fix it. He also said that there was too much trauma to that small of an area. I hate to pay more but I don't feel comfortable going back to the original artist for a touch up. This was a tattoo to honor my dog who passed, so it's really upsetting. read more

I found DV8 through a local search and checked out the artists instagram pages a while back. I've been following one for a couple years now and finally had my heart set on a design. I reached out through Instagram and James immediately got started on my design and was happy to make any edits I requested. I made an appointment (within a couple short days) and got my first tattoo yesterday. The attention to detail is simply amazing, the colors are bright and exactly what I was looking for, and the vibe of the shop was very chill. Everyone was happy to be there, workers and customers included. I had an image in my head and James was able to turn that to reality. It was an overall great experience and my wife is already planning on returning for a new tattoo or two. The image attached was about 1 hour after it was all finished. Very clean looking and looks to be healing very nicely. Couldn't recommend this shop more! James and Nathan are professionals that are customer-first. I wish I can give this place zero stars, this place is horrible, so disrespectful. I received tattoos from this place before by Nathan. Long story short didn't recognize it was him, but remembered by face. Joshua, is the dude I spoke with over phone, should have went with my intuition at the time. He is a very spiteful person. When I originally wanted Nathan to do the ink. I did call to speak with Nathan since he is the owner. That caused more drama. When they say boys gossip more the woman it's true. Nathan had told Joshua that originally I wanted Nathan to do the ink work. I already went in for a consultation and put down a $40 deposit. I didn't cancel the appointment I showed up. Joshua was reluctant to do the Tatoo Bc he got ass hurt. Told me the money was already Eatin into and keep the deposit without doing the ink work. This place is not trusted, horrible at costumer service, disrespectful. What's even more sad is the owner Nathan caused the drama. Everything slick don't slide, and just cause I let it slide. I've just had bad experiences with other people taking smoke breaks and more worried about talking to others then working on the tattoo. I just wanted to say what a great experience i had getting my piercing today by piercer Seven Pierce. I got a Daith piercing and was really nervous but he helped me calm my nerves with his great professionalism. He made sure everything he was using on me was sterilized and didnt just rush through the piercing. I can honestly say it barley hurt and he took really great care of me. He also gave me very good after care instructions about my piercing as well. From now on any piercing i get i will only get from him, i plan to get a second Daith piercing done very soon. Josh of DV8 gave me my first tattoo in February of this year. I walked in around 9:00 one Saturday night, and hemmed and hawed a bit, and then choose a tattoo. Josh took the pic, completely changed it, and tattooed me. An open red rose, with leaves, and a black tribal-type backing. Josh and the guys in the shop took the time to make me comfortable, and help me get prepared to have ink and needle put to my skin. Throughout the entire process Josh and guys in the shop were great - they joked around, answered my questions, and made this a wonderful experience. Honestly, I'm disappointed that I had a bad experience here. I've came in here before for both tattoos and piercings and never had any complaints. Til now. First and foremost, the staff are great and friendly. Very personable. The work I got done is not the greatest. My husband and I got the king and queen of hearts and the lines are not smooth. The heart doesn't look good, my husbands heart looks like a circle. The whole tattoo was supposed to be thin lines, he went over the Q about 5 times! I should've been worried when he said he couldn't see what he was doing. But I thought he was just joking around. Totally not worth the money we've paid. Now I gotta go elsewhere to have it look decent. I've wrote our artist through fb & email and still no response. I actually read on his fb that he's a professional piercer?! Maybe that's why it came out the way it did. If he would've just said he wasn't comfortable then I would understand. But, he told us yes he could do it and A messed up job was what we got. I love this place! It's clean, the guys are funny and personable but completely professional when it's time to work, and I always feel welcome here. I've gone a couple of times to get tattoos by Nate, and I'll keep going until I'm "done" or he retires. I'm sticking to him as my artist, but all the guys are really talented and I've recommended this place to everyone who's ever asked me a good place to go. And when asked, "Is there a certain artist I should ask for?" I always say, "Go in talk to them about what you want and they'll set you up with the guy who can make it happen." Had my daughters ears pierced here so that it would be done with a needle, not a gun. Absolutely love this place, hands down my favorite shop in the East Bay. First off, I'll start with negative. There's only 1 negative really, and that is that the place is tiny. Also, just a heads up, they don't have a piercer anymore, only tattoo artists. Now, onto the good stuff. So far, I've gotten 2 tattoos here. One from Nate (the owner). His apprentice was supposed to tattoo me, but was feeling a little under the weather, and he sat right down, pulled out his equipment and gave me a great tattoo. My second, which I got done yesterday, is probably my favorite tattoo so far. It was done by Patrick. They've got a good group of guys in there, they don't mind chatting if you're waiting around or getting tattooed, and all of them are amazing artists.
