Appalling customer service! I needed a new battery for my iPhone. I called and got their voicemail. No one called back. I read that I had to schedule an appointment. Online I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 am the next day, making sure it was for the store in Scotts Valley, including that I needed a battery for an iPhone 13 Pro. The appointment was confirmed by text and email that day, and again the next morning. When I arrived at the store, I was told that the technician would not be in for another fifteen minutes. And they did not have the battery that I needed in stock anyway. When I asked why I was allowed to make an appointment when I did, I was told that is corporate. I bought a battery at this store in November of 2025 for my house alarm system. I paid $60 + dollars for it. The battery should have lasted 3-5 years. In February of 2026 the battery was dead. WOW! Just WOW!!! I'm always trying to support small local businesses and in fact years back I bought a 10 pack of CR2430 batteries from this location. I just went in to buy two of the 10 packs and it was $145.00!!!!!!! . I was SHOCKED. The salesman said they had to raise prices due to tariffs. I had to take a pass and go home and check Amazon. I just paid $17.55 for a watch battery replacement. I noticed scratches on the back when he was done. I asked him about the scratches and he said, "they were already there". It's the first time I have replaced the battery and I'm 100% sure the scratches weren't already there. If he was honest, I probably would have let it slide but he lied about it. Considering that I had a very expensive watch a more or less expensive live watch and they just a regular watch and they were able to accommodate all three of them for the same price. No hassling one fixed price with great customer service and while you wait you definitely look at the great number of batteries that exist for any type of battery Rund apparatus. They also have free car battery testing will they'll replace your battery and install it at the same time that's part of their policy. I needed a new battery for my Subaru. I decided to give this store a try. Next time I'm going somewhere else. I ordered online and was told I would receive a text message when my order was ready for picckup. I never got any message. After 24 hours I called and was informed that someone had tried to call me but my voice mailbox was full - which is totally bogus (we checked again just to be sure). I had to go into the store to pick up the battery (in spite of the web site saying just pull up and wait for them to bring it out). The one sales person was not what I would call friendly, and they could not find my battery. They looked at the computer to confirm the order and then they found it on the shelf. Bought a pop up tent camper about a year ago and it came with a new battery (same month I bought the trailer). I have used the camper about 10 times this summer no issues. the first camping trip I went to with full hook up's...I come home and the battery is dead. Long story short I brought it into to batteries plus In Scott's valley. They tested it at 8vdc...not sure why or how it got that low but they held onto it for 48hours for free and hooked it up to their charger. I took my iPhone in for a new battery, since mine was only at 80% health. They said it would take about an hour to fix, which was great, and warned me it wouldn't be an Apple authored battery so I would get a notification, but would still work, so no problem. When I went to pick up my phone, the person helping me said they cracked my screen protector further (it already had a crack in it) so they replaced the screen protector for free. Awesome- I left feeling great about my phone, although a bit annoyed that the new battery they installed wasn't charged. I went home and charged my phone. Later, while using my phone I though the color looked off on my screen and went to adjust the brightness, figuring that got changed during the battery change. It was then I noticed a notification that not only was my battery not Apple authorized-- apparently my screen no longer was! This means they cracked not my screen protector but my actual phone screen and didn't tell me, and just put on a new screen that is not up to iPhone standards. Incredibly upset about this as my screen is now of a lower quality and off colored. Further, the new battery they installed holds less of a charge than the battery I had them replace! So now I need to pay even more to get an actual full health battery, and get an authorized screen for my phone. Will never go back, and highly discourage anyone else from using them to replace an iPhone battery. read more

The hugest shout out to Batteries Plus in scotts valley. I've mainly used them for iPhone repair countless time's in the past. Today, my husband took in my sons phone to get the battery port changed out because it wasn't taking a charge. Rather than charging me and doing the repair- it turns out it needed a good clean (that I attempted and obviously failed- and they did free of charge) they could have cleaned it and charged me for a port change and I wouldn't have known- instead they were totally honest about the issue, fixed it, and gave it right back. I have to have a lot of batteries for work I normally order through Amazon. No longer- this place is two blocks away and I'd rather give them my business for life. Had a very pleasant experience today with Lance and his wife @ the Scott's Valley location. They are the owners and helped me out with testing the battery to see if I needed a new one. She also tested the alternator to make sure that wasn't the issue. I had a feeling I needed a new battery and sure enough..I did. As one said quantities were limited I called them before coming to the store for pickup. The other battery was listed as in stock so I didn't verbally check that one. The salesperson took them and gave him some generic batteries that didn't fit and nearly overheated our clipper. I normally don't do many reviews however today I was compelled to do so. I'm from Gilroy and was visiting Santa Cruz for the weekend. Unfortunately I had the misfortune of dropping my phone. I was grateful that this location was open on a Sunday morning. I took my iPhone X to have it serviced. The screen was not cracked but detached from original housing. I informed the technician that the screen had been repaired about a year ago. She thoroughly inspected the phone and educated me about the poor craftsmanship and quality of parts used to replace my previous screen. She was honest and hesitant about replacing my screen and suggested I take it back to the previous technician. She even temporarily fixed it until I was able to have it serviced. I would gladly recommended their service to anyone who's in a pinch like I was! read more

Very disappointed as I called earlier in the day to get a quote for an iPhone XS Max screen repair. The employee quoted me $80, but mentioned it could be maxed $100. I show up and Mike does all the testing and is asking me questions about my iphone. The entire time I'm under the impression it will be less than $100. He finally has me sign a document which I did but without telling me or showing me the price. I finally get to see the bill and he's charging me $318.26. I'm very upset at this point so I just informed him it was too much and that I'll be getting it repaired somewhere else. On the side note, I got it repaired for $150 somewhere else. Do not under any circumstances have your cellphone screen repaired at this location. They claim their replacement screens are from Apple, they're not. The screen was of abysmal quality, depleted my phone battery, and stopped working in short order. The most disappointing thing about the whole thing is that I specifically asked - both in my notes and in person - if this replacement screen was an OLED Apple screen. I was told it was. It wasn't. It was a crappy no name LCD. Save your money, save your time, go to Apple. The only reason I didn't was because all Apple stores were closed due to the Pandemic. Don't make my mistake. I went into Batteries Plus with my kids needing to find out how to power a toy car we were given. Turns out the battery that came with it was dying and would take at least $30 to replace. Needing to attempt to charge it was another $30 to get the right charger. The hand-me-down gift was looking very expensive to actually keep, but a very nice, young guy helped to check what was left on the expensive toy's battery life, then convinced me to just buy the charger in hopes of not needing to replace the battery. I noticed the rest of the staff seemed to be very helpful with other customers around me as well. We took it home and tried, but need the battery after all. What I appreciated most was the caring and helpful attitude from the gentleman who tried saving me money. He was really thoughtful and patient. I'll be going back today for not only the toy's battery but to stock up on all of batteries I need around the house and for my dying car key's battery. This is the type of store I am happy to bring my business to. BTW, the guy who complained about online pricing vs. going into a STORE and working with PEOPLE sounds like a real ass. I would have charged him more, too! They clearly told him they didn't have what he was asking for and he still bought something... Then complained about it!!! Warranty? Forget it. I bought a $44 off-brand iPhone battery yesterday, and when I opened the package and unwrapped the battery, the film wrapping ripped the connector off the battery. The connector was apparently glued to the film, obviously not intentionally. I can see that the connector is much more fragile than the one on my old Apple battery. I took all the parts and wrapping film back today. George, the General Manager, told me "No exchanges." I explained that I don't want to exchange it. I want a replacement because this one's packaging is defective. The manager told me "We only exchange working and undamaged batteries." I pointed out that if it were working and undamaged, I wouldn't be here. He told me he tells his staff not to sell this type of battery without installing it because people like me don't know what they're doing. (I am an experienced Electronic Engineer). Then he fumbled and dropped the battery, the broken connector, the film and other parts etc. on the floor. It this point I began taking pictures. An employee behind him began to smile. I guess they enjoy these little conflicts. After he picked it all up, George said when other people try to exchange these batteries after breaking them, he always tells them "No exchanges." I said maybe they ran into this defective packaging too. He said to read the back of the receipt because it says "no exchanges".
