Needed a new car battery. Shopped online. Decided on batteries plus because I got 18% discount for signing up for their email... was supposed to get a discount and the $22 core deposit. Secured the discount at the store when I got the battery installed. They did not give me my core deposit back. Even after I said something about it. The guy gaslit me saying that's what he did when he had me run my card was give me a refund on my credit card for the discount and core charge.. so I was like "whatever your math doesn't add up, but $22 isn't gonna break me so I just left. I got home and did the math again on a calculator.. and sure enough I was right. I was exactly $22 over what it should have been. Battery works fine and it was installed and ready to go within 15 minutes. Only complaint is screwing me over for the $22 core charge. Ps. My watch battery was dead. I went to the Hollywood Fred Meyer, but the jeweler there could not fix it. I was pretty frustrated about possibly having to drive downtown. However, I was directed by the clerk at Fred's to try the batteries plus. When I got there I received efficient and prompt service at a fair price. The person who got me a new battery explained to me that they only work on watches that are less than $500 in price. Although this made me feel a bit class conscious, because my watch was not expensive, I still thought he was friendly and chatty. It was a good experience. read more

Came in yesterday to pick up fresh batteries for my smoke alarms. Over the years I have been here a few dozen times. Never thought a store that focuses on batteries and bulbs could stay in business, but turns out when I need these items, I do stop here! It's convenient, I pull right up, tell the staff what I need, they hand it to me and I'm on my way. Yes, sometimes the prices are a bit higher, but for the convenience, I'm ok with that no,us they give you. 10% off coupon and they often have really good specials on AA & AAA batteries, the ones I use the most. What an unexpected surprise this business and it's staff were to me today! Recently, I lost the spare key to my Toyota. And while I was out running errands today, I noticed an advertisement in their window indicating that they make car keys and key FOBs. I decided to give them a try. I walked in and I was immediately welcomed by Jeff who then assisted me. He looked up my vehicle and explained that they could make either for my vehicle and he gave me the prices. I thanked him for his help and told him that I wanted to think about it since the FOB was about twice the price, and I wondered if I could get by with just the key. He suggested I think about it and thanked me for coming in and handed me a flyer with a coupon for 10% off. Next I called the parts department at the Toyota dealership. Sadly, the assistance was less friendly and the FOB was more than 3 times the price of the one at Batteries + Bulbs. Yikes!! I quickly returned to Battery + Bulbs, and was greeted by Rob who was also very friendly. He told me it could take up to 45 minutes to make the key FOB that I decided on, so I just took a seat in the store and pulled out my phone. While I waited I saw several other customers come in with various needs and requests and every one of them left happy and satisfied. How often do you see that? Rob was finished in about 20 minutes, and I was on my way with a new FOB that was identical to the one I already had from Toyota, except for the Toyota logo on the back of my old one. But that's probably a good thing though, since it would remind me of the money that I probably wasted at the Toyota dealership over the years taking care of my 2 vehicles there. Batteries + Bulbs is definitely a business that I will be calling upon again for my additional needs; batteries from my remote controls to my cordless power tools, and even car keys. I had already decided not to pay $20 for a quick battery change on a $2 battery. But I did want to buy a battery! One employee was explaining the entire concept of electrical batteries to a customer with an auto battery. Seriously. The other person wouldn't take 30 seconds to ring up my purchase before going to the back of the store looking for a lady who left her watch for a battery change. Since I'd been in the store for 10-15 minutes already, I left, ordered my battery from Amazon, and just spent all of 2 minutes putting it in my car key. Before Pandemic, I was shopping for some Antique style toys (made with wood) for my Darling Husband for the Holidays. I located the Jacob's Ladder which makes a joyous "Click Clack" sound when you rotate the first piece of wood... near the front door to this Batteries Plus Bulbs located on Northeast Broadway. We have purchased many of our replacement front Windshield Wipers for our older Prius here as well. The counter clerk was courteous and efficient. And there is a smaller parking lot... should you require parking. We have also bought light bulbs here in the past as well. There are usually a few of the button type batteries... if you are looking for the flat ones. During one trip I noticed that the 2032 batteries weren't available... but, I was told when I asked that the new shipment would be arriving within the next five days. There were also some Genius metal puzzles (those are the kind with two or three pieces that interlock or slide/ fit together)... I had already bought some... but it's good to know that you can also buy Genius metal puzzles at the Batteries Plus Bulbs. It's been over five years since we were shopping here for anything. I recommend writing down the specific letters and numbers on your button size batteries. It's waaaaay easier to find them on the shelves that way. read more

Here we are, on the way to the shore and without a charger for the camera. Well, we can't have that. Only problem was that the camera was really new, and Panasonic loves to change their battery spec every single bloody time. So Camera World says no, Fred Meyer's just chuckles at us; but at least they recommended Batteries Plus. Not only did we get a charger and an extra battery, but these guys really knew their stuff. I have no idea what kind of geekery goes into knowing about batteries. I myself am fond of a different flavor. But our host was knowledgable to the point of absurdity, something I look for in a good EE nerd. He was also very nice to open the packages and double check that everything worked for us. He didn't want us getting to the coast to find our charger didn't work. That was really a nice move. After getting home and checking online, prices all seem fair and their stock is well above par. I went into BPB today to have the battery in my Iphone replaced. After speaking to people at the downtown Apple Store (which will be summed up in a different review), I decided on BPB because they offer a good warranty on parts and labor. Since there are so many cheap batteries out there, I figured the added cost of labor would be worth the added confidence that their product was backed by a larger company than Joe's Fly By Night Battery Replacement (apologies if that's actually a real company (for more than one reason)). Anyway, I made an appointment online the night before and received a $10 off coupon which made the service a little more reasonable. Once inside I discussed the issue with a couple of the guys, who obviously had experience with similar issues and also a similar dislike of the language that Apple uses to basically show you the door. "Overconsumed" battery? What is that? Before opening the phone up, which Apple was afraid to do, we discussed symptoms. And then the guy was like "well the only way to know is to take a look" Again, something Apple didn't want to do because of liability. He got it open, no problem, found that the battery was indeed enlarged, replaced it and closed the whole thing back up in a few minutes. I was there for only 36 minutes total. The actual switch just took a few minutes and much of the rest of the time was spent speaking to the knowledgable and funny outside sales rep. She is part of the family that owns the franchise. If you ever need bulbs for your commercial business, you should call her, although, sorry I didn't catch her name! Long story short, good work, fair-ish price, knowledgable staff, no attitude, and reassurance that the back their work and products. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that the appoinment I went to the trouble of making wasn't obviously in their system. But that didn't matter today since I walked right in and got helped. read more

Twice I've been here. Great Service, very functional store with personal technical help added. 1st time was to try and rescue a drowned phone. The advice was great. It was not fixed here, but the fella behind the counter took his time to work with me- 2nd time in I just was looking to replace some headphones so I could field calls while driving. The young man showed me what they offered. It was a nice simple set $9.99. I went for it and they really seem to work out. I am very specific about headphone buds and how they fit in my ear ----so whether it's a nine dollar purchase or a 40 dollar purchase, they have to fit a certain way. Excellent Customer Service-I took my iPhone in for a screen replacement after it took a tumble. The very pleasant manager let me know that it was an after market product but since I had heard good things about their screen replacement- and the price was less than at the Apple store I went ahead. The phone worked fine for a week then the screen lost all touch capabilities rendering my phone useless. I took it back to Batteries Plus and the very pleasant manager gave me a full refund with no hassle. While I can't recommend screen replacement there I can recommend a company who values its customers and does what it can to make it right. read more

Batteries Plus was close and open which were our only criteria at the time. Glad this was the case! Sales staff was super helpful, even loaning me tools and helping me figure out exactly how to connect the new battery (Audi TT, battery is in the trunk and there are a few non-traditional connections required). The customer service representative "Rob" gave me professional service with no hassle. The process Took less than three minutes and he informed me that it was "on the house". SWEET! He spent maybe ten minutes cleaning the space where the back goes, so there would be a good seal, then he wrestled with a teeny gasket till it was all better. BONUS: No Charge!! Go there now. I found the customer service to be a no frills affair, but there really isn't too much small talk that accompanies battery purchases, at least the majority of time there isn't. Been going to this store for many years. Every time the counter employees have been knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. I have replaced batteries in batteries backup units to watches. A few years ago they replaced my "Tim Allen" power drill battery pack. Today I brought it in thinking it was toast and I needed a new one. After inspection they thought that maybe the main unit might be getting a little corrosion on the connections and suggested I clean them off, try the battery pack again and see that solves the problem. And it did! Point being, they weren't just trying to sell me something, they were trying to help me solve a problem. This is how you earn your customers trust and appreciation. I went there looking for a Power Adapter for a Bluetooth Device, after going to RadioShack. I was greeted, but the helpfulness stopped there, the guy there didn't even check his adapters, just said that he didn't have it, and that I needed a special one with more power, which makes no sense at all, you match up the Voltage and Amperage and then the plug size. Then he changed his mind and said that I needed a charger style power adapter. Obviously he doesn't know much about electrical mechanics, or what customer service is. He argued with me for about 5 minutes. He told me to go to some other store out in Beaverton somewhere. He NEVER even tried to find an adapter for me. LAST TIME I EVER GO THERE. PS My mom had bought the expensive 10 year batteries for smoke detectors, and 1 of them didn't even have a charge and took it back for an exchange with the receipt 1 day after she bought them and they wouldn't exchange them, in fact they accused her of running it down. Saw the store while running errands and thought I'd pop in to see about my sluggish-starting car battery. A guy brings out a tester to confirm mine would die soon but had this odd way of explaining the process that me feel like I was in a carnival game. But OK, let's go look at your batteries. They only carry one brand and when I asked why, he went off on some story about other brands making their batteries in Mexico with bad lead. I asked "Isn't lead just lead?" And then he went off on another story how they just recycle lead from other batteries, that if you looked inside my dying battery it would be all chipped with pieces broken off. When I suggested it seemed highly unlikely anyone would just lift out my "chipped and broken" lead and put it in new batteries, he cold-stared me and asked "Do you want the battery?".
