I ordered a new motorcycle battery online late yesterday and dropped by to pick it up today. The place was very busy, with a line too the door. I watched two obviously new / trainee employees being directed by an a gentlemen who kept them on task, explained not only what to do, but why they should do it that way. (I have trained hundreds of people, and it is very rare to encounter this level of interaction with new staff) The line moved quickly, and I was soon being served., Its rare to encounter good customer service these days. So many places are lacking people who care enough to even do their job correctly, much less people who excel at what they do. A notable exception is Jerry at Batteries Plus Bulbs on south University. Polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I was very impressed. Oh and the new battery? Well it was charged and ready to go, they were the only place in or near highlands ranch who even had several selections in stock. Everyone else was having to order them in from who know where. I have been to this store often to replace the batteries in my key fobs and buy batteries in general and have always had a great experience. Recently when a new car battery was drained when my son left the headlights on in the car and we could not get it to jump I brought the battery in expecting I would have to buy a new one. They suggested trying to leave it on their charger overnight to see if they could get it to recharge. The next day the battery had fully recharged and saved me from having to buy a new battery. As I waited today in line to get a battery for my car fob, one person was in front of me. Not bad, right? I waited 25 minutes to finally get some help. One person at the desk, manager in the back with an angry employee and three employees out the door to "lunch". The line continues behind me - 6 people in line and the manager and angry employee head out to "lunch". Wow!!! Feels like when I lived in Europe and no one cared! I finally got some help... No apology for keeping me waiting... And the clerk helping me made sure we all knew he was leaving in 15 minutes. Called Lucy the manager this evening to give her the opportunity to explain and it was everyone's fault but her own for terrible customer service!! Next time I will take the drive to Littleton store where the service is much better. Good customer service is not difficult with an entire staff of employees... Oh but wait!!! They all left for lunch... Including the manager with a store full of customers. read more

Poor service, won't be returning. I overheard one service tech tell another "It's a good thing her watch is already scratched in case you damage it further." They made me wait a good 15 minutes for a basic watch battery while atleast 6 other customers were helped, I was given no explanation, just excuses and attitude. Drive to Right Time Watches on Co Line and Quebec, pay a few dollars more for a lifetime battery and zero attitude problem. read more

This store has a good selection and you can find what you need but it takes forever. They never have enough employees there, typically just one, and you can stand there waiting even if you know exactly what you need. Jerry saved the day! 3 days before my daughter's wedding I went to charge my video camera and discovered that it unfortunately would no longer hold a charge. I took my old battery to Jerry at Batteries Plus. The staff here are always very personable, and knowledgeable. Jerry assured me that he could order me a new battery with 2 day shipping, but he also took my old battery and worked his magic to bring it back to 87 percent charge! I put all of my confidence in Jerry and he did not let me down! When something went wrong with the 2 day shipping Jerry, was right on top of it, and being a man of integrity ,stepped up and paid for the extra cost of overnight shipping. He even came in early on his day off to make sure my battery was delivered on time! We were able to pick up the batteries on time and video taped my daughter and son-in-law's whole Saturday wedding, and reception! We did not even have to stop to change a battery or recharge! I recommend the Batteries Plus store in Centennial to everyone! They have excellent customer service and offer just about any type of battery you may need! read more

Jerry at store 81 is a complete battery ninja. I brought my SUV in which had a faulty battery, he tested it, and then replaced it in very short order. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Took my Iphone to the Centennial Colorado location to have a cracked screen repaired. Came back 3 hours later to find they had not only failed to repair the cracked screen, the phone was now broken in pieces and no longer worked, telling me to take to another repair store better equipped with more specialized repair equipment to fix it. MY PHONE NO LONGER WORKS! When I complained, they ignored me. When I complained louder they called the cops. I was happy they did wanting to speak with law enforcement about what had transpired. I waited for about 20 minutes outside. I went back inside waiting patiently and quietly to find out when the police had stated they might show up. I had not said a word when the store manager/repair tech told me I needed to wait outside. Absolutely the WORST and LEAST PROFESSIONAL customer service I've ever experienced, anywhere! I highly recommend a repair service named Ubreak-Ifix. They were able to repair the phone properly in 20 minutes. read more

I called on 6/30 and spoke with a sales associate regarding a purchase of 2 6v golf cart batteries for my camper. I explained that I wanted to purchase online to take advantage of the 10% discount. The sales associate confirmed he had the batteries in stock. I mentioned that I only had 1 battery to trade in he said, no problem. He also stated that there was an additional $10 off mail in rebate, but I had to purchase by 6/30 to take advantage. I did just that, and made mention on the online form that I spoke with him and would be in after the 4th of July holiday weekend to pick up the batteries...fast forward to today. I went to pick up the batteries and spoke with the manage Craig. He asked if I had 2 cores to trade in I said, no I had one and the sales associate I spoke with said it wouldn't be a problem. He insisted that it would be a problem and that I would have to pay an additional $12. I took issue with this, stating that the sale associate stated no I wouldn't have to pay that. I asked to confirm that there was mail in rebate paper work for an additional $10 per battery. The manager looked and could not find any rebate offer. I asked what could be done...nothing. Craig wasn't helpful, and refused to honor any of the promises made by the other associate. I asked if he knew him and he said yes, and there was nothing he could do. At this time the other sales associate offered that the core charge was wrong, it wasn't $12 it was actually $16. NICE...now I'm being asked to pay an additional $36 dollars. I asked for a refund and left. Craig isn't cut out to be a manager and his sales associate was more than excited to offer up less than helpful information and support the managers bad attitude and terrible customer service. Here is where is gets better...I called the South West Plaza location and explained what had just happened. I asked, is this a Batteries Plus thing or just a bad manager. The guys I spoke with at the South West Plaza store were awesome! They said that they would not only match what I had been told, but would beat it if possible. He asked me to hold while he confirmed that he had the batteries in stock, came back on the line and said yes we will be happy to make it right. Avoid the Centennial location, make the drive out to South West Plaza. The new manager at that location is awesome. I walked out of the store paying what I had been promised by the previous sales associate, I did not have to pay the additional core fee, he honored the rebate in a straight discount...in addition I left with a handful of LED bulbs at an amazing price. I like Batteries Plus, but the Centennial location lost a $300+ dollar sale as a result of terrible customer service and an overall bad attitude. read more

With the help of one of the associates, I bought two new batteries. One for each garage door opener. One battery was dead out of the packaging. The other worked fine. I have a battery tester to confirm the dead battery. One can say I lost $3, or paid $6 for one good working battery. Other than batteries, they also sell CFL bulbs. The people at the store don't give me a positive vibe. I feel like I'm a bother to them - for stepping into the store. But I go here when it's convenient or have a unique battery to replace. I'm not thrilled with this current experience, so I will go elsewhere for common battery needs. read more

I recently called this location to see if they had a replacement battery for my i phone 4S and they had one in stock. I stopped by the store in a couple of days to get the battery replaced and had to hear the whole speech about how a customer had said their I Pad was working fine when he dropped it off and then it wasn't when they picked it up so the store had to purchase an I Pad for the customer, and now we had to do a full button functional test on my phone before they could work on it, and then sign a waiver releasing them from any liability, and in the mean time having to hear the complaint from Jerry about how he doesn't own a smart phone because its made in China for 5 cents and then sold here for $600. I was then told that since I didn't have an appointment that it was going to be a 1 1/2 hour wait and wouldn't be done at 1PM. I went home and waited until 2PM and still hadn't heard anything so I drove back to the store and it was in the drawer waiting for pickup. I asked Jerry [ the Manager ] what that the Manufactured date was and he said the codes are confusing and I wouldn't be able to figure it out, that was a clue! I brought the phone home and it started out charging at 9% equal to .333 volts of a 3.7 Battery. 4 hours it was still at 9%. I called the store and they said bring it right back I did and they put a new battery in and it started at 53% equal to 1.9V. and it works Ok. There saying is " Your Trust is our Top Concern" well in finding out the Date Mfg. Code I find out that the Battery that I bought said RayoVac on the outside but is actually manufactured by Batteries Plus. I found out that the first battery was manufactured 14 months prior and the second battery was manufactured 8 months prior.Thats false advertising! So for my hassle Jerry gave me $10 off well, if I would have scheduled on line I also would have got $10 off. Then I get the story that our Quality Control sometime misses things !!!! read more
