I went in knowing how busy they are this time of year. I only needed to drop off a part to have ordered but expected to have to wait a bit to my surprise, work was halted, and I was attended to right away. I explained what happened and why I was ordering the part. Instead of just taking down that information, they took my part in the back and worked on it on the spot and I'm up and running much much faster than I ever thought I was going to be. My 212cc "Easy Start" pressure washer had become impossible to start after a couple of years. Westinghouse 3400. I called at lunchtime for an estimate to restore it to easy starting. Whoever answered was super helpful: he told me (without prompting) that it probably was the carb and on this model they just replace it as it's too small to clean and too cheap to replace with a new one. Indeed, it was! New carb (fully adjusted and with gaskets & misc fuel system parts) was about $30 on Amazon. Got it next day, put it in and WONDERFUL: it started on the first pull! Thanks SEM; you are top on my list. ps: lesson #2 is, don't put any fuel in this sort of engine if it has any ethanol- now I believe in TruFuel for clean pure gas, available from Home Depot. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this shop was so off-putting that I feel compelled to warn others. My wife and I brought our lawn mower in for a simple repair, and from the moment we stepped through the door, the owner treated us as if we were an unwelcome intrusion. He barely looked up from his desk, gave curt one-word answers, and never once offered a greeting or even a "thank you" for choosing his business. Additionally, the front office was plastered with partisan political posters and bumper stickers--totally unrelated to lawn care and making the space feel like a political campaign office rather than a professional repair shop. Do yourself a favor and take your mower elsewhere. Unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience and walking into someone's personal political soapbox, steer clear of this establishment. read more

We had a basic repair that had to be done under warranty. Took the equipment to Small Engine Masters and they fixed the issue for free without even having to keep it, so zero wait. Brought in snowblower tires for repair. Gruff guy took them back without saying much. Waited until he came back to ask if we were ok with a type of repair. He left again without communicating how much time we'd be waiting or how much the repair would cost. The store dog entertained us while we were waiting. In and out, asking for scratches behind the ear and pats. Friendly and adorable. Made waiting better. Took a long time for the guy to come back. And then we found out how much the repair would be. He was more communicative after the repair was done. While I wouldn't give them five stars, they did repair the item. And the cost wasn't astronomical. So while they aren't warm and fuzzy, they seem to know their stuff and that would be most important. read more

I found out that my snowblower was dead on as the storm was rolling in. I called a few places and mobile people. They all said they were too busy for obvious reasons. Called Small Engines and the guy said to just bring it on in. He almost sounded surprised that other people were too busy. I wasn't expecting to have it back anytime soon. I'd waited too long to run it so I'd resigned myself to shoveling the driveway. 3 days later I got the text to come and pick it up. Chatted with the guy a bit about life and whatnot. We both served in the Navy. I was also happy to hear that they offered a military discount. All in all, I probably saved a couple of hundred dollars going here. Most of the other people were quoting trip charges and hundred dollar assessment fees. I avoided all of that hassle and saved some cash by going up the road to Small Engine Masters. This small (but professional) business has its act together - very organized. They often have a 2-3 week backlog but they have a way to get your job expedited if you're in a hurry (additional fee). Terrific. I brought them my UTV work truck it was smoking. They fixed it and unfortunate the same problem. Started up again. They responded quickly And sent there guy to pick it up. They did repair it and it cost a little bit extra but upon returning it the region been pulled backwards in the windshield had blown out. He took immediate responsibility and ordered a brand new windshield which probably cost as much is the entire repair.They kept communicating you want to come and brought it to my house and installed it. This is a great place for your small engine repairs. We took our old two stage, Toro snowthrower here as it most likely needed a new carburetor as it would not run properly and was leaking fuel. We dropped it off on a Thursday afternoon around 4:40 p.m. We were expecting a large snowfall by Saturday afternoon, but knew we wouldn't get the machine back in time to use for the upcoming snow fall. We were given a 7-10 day turnaround. We received an email the very next day, Friday, at a little after 1:00 p.m., stating our snowthrower was fixed, running, and ready to be picked up. We were totally surprised!! We went and picked it up, and were told that they made an extra effort to get everyone's snowthrower back to them before the snow storm came in. Talk about great customer service! We brought our machine home and it started up like it was brand new again. We couldn't be happier! The price was spot on, and the service was great! I will be bring my single stage snowthrower to them as well, as it too needs a new carburetor. We have definitely found our new small engine repair shop. No need to look any further. They know their stuff and definitely strive for customer satisfaction. It's great to have a business like this so closes to home. No need to travel far to get out small engines repaired.
