Went here tonight on a Monday night and had a great time. Had a little bit of a wait outside with just one group ahead of us. Tables are first come first serve. There is no waiting list. You must wait outside the door in line to get in. There is maybe seating for 8-10 small parties total inside if I counted correctly. We waited about 20 minutes to get in. They did come outside to take our drink order and bring us drinks outside which was really cool and I especially loved that the server even came out to check how our drinks were after we got them outside. The ambiance inside is dark and music playing in the background but quiet enough that you can hold a conversation with the other people in your party. This place is hidden in an alley way. You'll know when you're at the right place when you face the other direction and see a parking lot. They have happy hour from 5-7pm and seems to be daily (or at least on Saturday which is when I went) and includes $9 menu cocktails. Although there are a couple levels this is a really small space. I feel like it'd be rough to come here with a large party of 6 of more. Even with four it was hard to find a spot during the busier times. I was just by myself and had to stand for most of the time I was there because there just wasn't a ton of space or seats. They also don't take reservations so you may have to wait a bit. You'll also probably have to wait outside since there's no space indoors to wait. My first drink was the death star ($9) which was equal parts strong and sweet. It was a delicious cocktail and I'd highly recommend trying that. My second drink was the dapper as f*** ($9) which was dry and had a bitter aftertaste. I preferred the death star much more. TLDR; small speakeasy with an intimate vibe. Very small so come early if you don't want to wait. The entrance is in a back alley. I heard that the entrance is kind of difficult to find but luckily we came with a friend who has been here before. He walked us right to the entrance and we were seated immediately. It's a small space, with maybe 3-4 tables on the bottom floor, connected to a more private room. We didn't check it out because another group was already in there but it seems like if you come with a bigger group, that space would be perfect. Upstairs didn't seat much either. It took awhile for the server to see us but when she did, I ordered an Atticus Finch. Not too bad...for some reason the first sip tasted like it was pure alcohol but after that, it tasted just fine. I also tried a bit of the Nantucket Mongoose and I liked it better than the drink I ordered. Reminded me of cucumber water, super refreshing. It's a cool space and I think it's a nice stop if you're bar hopping around. I wish I got to try more speakeasies in Seattle so I could have something to compare Bathtub Gin to. read more

The white lady with a beanie was an a** and was not kind. Then 1:42am she comes to our table after paying our bill she says we need to leave. You all close at 2am??? At that point the group I was with was unsatisfied and just ended up leaving. She was an ass and I'm mad I tipped that much. I wished I'd tipped von directly the money, not the white woman. Von (sp???) was amazing and apologized on his colleagues behalf, but nah, my night was ruined. She was terrible and I can't believe she gave us a ginger beer. Von was dope! He was attentive, engaging, and overall good vibes. He knew his colleague was having a bad day, so he sort of warned us. I'm disappointed in tonight's experience. I'd had great experiences here in the past and was excited to pop by around 6 pm last Wednesday 1/4. For a speakeasy style bar, the bartender could not have been less enthusiastic about helping suggest a cocktail. I described what I was looking for but was cut off as soon as I mentioned an ingredient they didn't have, instead steered towards something off the written menu which was fine but not what I was craving (if I'd wanted something off the menu, I would have ordered it). Tried to be a good sport about it, but then I witnessed some pretty rude conversation with other patrons as well (bartender condescendingly told them "no one in Seattle is going to carry" Bulliet bourbon- laughably untrue (though I understand it's been canceled for good reason- still not everyone knows this and there are better ways to communicate that to customers). I'm also "over" QR menus in general but especially in a place where the ambiance would be best served keeping it dark and moody vs having everyone on their phones. read more

This place was not easy to find as we scootered our way through Seattle, we parked our scooter thinking we were right next to the place but we actually had to walk down an alley where there was a garbage truck driving by. There is a bathroom right downstairs and there is another room if you walk further inside. Our drinks were fabulous and this place really has a speakeasy feel to it. He'll gladly serve you a gin on the rocks or a craft cocktail from the menu, but he takes his craft seriously. He is an artist and will make you a customized cocktail curated specifically for you. He'll ask curious questions to get a feel for your taste and you will NOT be disappointed with the customized beverage you receive. We learned he does this by watching others receive gorgeous drinks, asking what they are, and hearing their answers of "I'm not sure, he made it just for me!" It's split into a upstairs bar area and a small downstairs area with just a few tables. My wife and I sat downstairs and were able to enjoy the most delicious cocktails. You can either order from the menu or simply tell the waitress what type of things you like and let the bartender create something for you. I ordered from the menu and I wasn't disappointed at all. My wife had the bartender create something for her. Unfortunately she didn't like it at all, but the waitress was nice enough to take it away and replace it with something else. The place is quiet which is great. Makes it nice for a date or out with friends. The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant to be around. I highly recommend this place. Drinks are strong - although not sure how well I can remember how my cocktails tasted. The server is hard to pin down but she shows up eventually. Expect a wait for a server or try to order at the bar. I ordered a couple of gin cocktails because a, I'm a gin girl at heart and b, the bar is called Bathtub GIN. I started out with one of their signature gin cocktails but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. It may have been the Dot Dot Dot but I'm not sure. I did end up getting a Tom Collin's afterward - but obviously but first drink wasn't SUPER memorable - just your typical gin cocktail. Overall, I would love to come back to try some more of their gin cocktail creations. They will have to come up with something special next time so it's a bit more memorable, though. read more

Found this place by chance on our first night in Seattle - we ended up staying for hours! Dan was such a great bartender! He was friendly, fun and made DELICIOUS drinks! We ordered from the menu, and did bartenders choice and were so pleased with every drink. It's a speakeasy vibe so I'm not going to violate that with photos. This place is intimate, historic, unique, tucked away, everything you'd want in an unpretentious cocktail destination. Date night? Had it on my Yelp list for several weeks and stopped in right at opening to snag a small two seat table. Service was prompt and incredibly helpful in helping me decide on a drink. I opted for the Diamond Hands, not just because of the name, but I absolutely loved the beverage. I hesitated because grapefruit is such a loathsome flavor (normally!) but the server's empathy and "I'm with you, grapefruit is ick, but it's what makes this drink WORK!" Encouraged me to try it. I was so moved by the liquid art that arrived at our table that I realized it was one of the rare instances I enjoyed drinking a cocktail. It truly shined with the artisan craft of cocktail making and I give my kudos to the artist behind the bar and the person who put these ingredients together. How different. How cool. How sneaky. My boyfriend had this place bookmarked prior to our visit to Seattle and we were able to swing by one night after having dinner close by. We weren't completely sure where this was exactly so thank you to the one person who posted a tip on Yelp saying where to look. When we got here the door was closed and there was about 5 people standing in front of us, up against the building. There was no sign outside to say the name of this place so we kind of just assumed that the line was for this speakeasy and we just waited to see what was gonna happen. Eventually we saw a man open the door and ask how many in the party up ahead and then close the door again without much of a word and that's when we knew we were at the right place. The guy mentioned it could be about 20 minutes before we were able to get inside, but we ended up waiting only another 5-6 minutes before we were able to enter so... try waiting at your own risk? It's like a body out, body in policy so maybe avoid coming with a large party if you're trying to get everyone in at the same time. The inside was sort of dark yet cool because the lights were dimly lit and it created this quiet, sneaky atmosphere for my boyfriend and I. Maybe if he wasn't my boyfriend then I would need all that darkness, but HA. I loved it. What I did have a problem with, and I'm sorry if you were the one working this night, was the fact that the bartender took forever with our drink orders and then with our drinks and then with the checks.
