Really cool, intimate vibe. Can't seat more than 30 people I would say. You'll head upstairs immediately and there's a small number of tables and then a handful of bar seats available. I'd suggest a seat at the bar so you can see all the cocktails getting made and converse with some expert bartenders. We had a great time. The cocktails were great, definitely creative, some twists on classics, and because it's such a small venue the service was quicker than I would've otherwise expected. Would definitely return!
Nice dark vibe for a date night cocktail. I like their selection of gins and other spirits and the service was friendly.
Such a gem! As a Gin lover I stumbled across this little bar. Funny enough, I ordered a coconut Negroni which was delicious. A great place for the guys to hang, or bring a friend!! Immaculate vibes. I loved the bartender and service was consistent and fun.
Very cool spot hidden in an alley in seattle. If you like gin, they're full of it! Our cocktails were well balanced, and I really enjoyed the spicy ness of the peppercorn in mine. Service was attentive and drinks were quick! We arrived right after they opened, and were sat right away. But this place is tiny! So if they fill up you may wait a bit.
We loved everything about BT&G! The whole vibe was on point for a speakeasy. Very laidback and social. We were immediately welcomed by a very knowledgeable waitress whole knew her way around different brands of gin! The drinks were top notch as well. This may be my new favorite hidden gem!
Lowkey speak easy with an extensive list of gins (and other spirits). Friendly bartenders with approachable attitudes and good recommendations. They have everything from sweet, bitter, balanced, whatever you want and how you want it. Inside is small and first come first serve. The later it gets the less chance of finding a seat. Last time I came in, I was an early bird (Around 7:30pm on a week night) so was able to find seating.
One of our friends found this little gem of a speakeasy for us to visit, and thankfully we went because it was such a cool experience! When you get to the location, it's an apt building and tells you to go around back. This is when, I'd say the experience starts, bc as you walk around, you end up in an ally at a back door that could seem to be considered to some as a bit sketchy! But we were committed to the cause! So in we went, and were greeted and seated promptly. Definitely more of an original speakeasy type vs the fancy dolled up ones you see all over IG, which made this that much better! We were seated in a dimly lit room that had some great music going that was a very chill, yet upbeat vibe. Joe was our rad server for the evening, and was great at recommending some cocktails for us based on our alcohol preferences. I opted for the old fashion which was a great choice for a delicious nightcap. If you find your way being in downtown Seattle, definitely give it a go and enjoy!
Have been wanting to try this place for awhile some friends and I happen to be in the area for dinner and one of my friends suggested stopping in here for a night cap. We had a table downstairs dark space but so much character. The tim ceiling and lighting as you walk into the entrance. We loved our server so knowledgeable about the cocktails and the brands if gin. was great assisting my friend at selecting the perfect gin for his negroni. Attentive and friendly let my friend have a taste of the Gin she suggested for the Negroni on its on which we appreciated.
This place gives somewhat speakeasy feels as it can be fairly easy to walk past this place without noticing, especially when it's not busy. It's located in the alley between 1st and 2nd Ave, and on a warmer day, you will be walking past rancid trash to get to the destination. The unfavorable exterior transforms into a somewhat classy and traditional ambience inside. The bar has upstairs bar and downstairs table seating, so take your pick since it's walk-in only and they take no reservations. I went here on a Tuesday after dinner around 7pm and I was surprised to find I was the only one there. I opted to sit at the bar for more interactions with the bartender and see their craft. I got the Aria de Capo which drinks like a dirty martini but a bit more citrusy from the lemons used. I was open to try and know it wasn't really my thing, but it's better than a traditional dirty martini. I also got the Mama and the Judge that is sweeter and more balanced. It's more tropical and much easier to drink. The straw they gave was very fragile so be careful, but the bartender was nice to give a handful of straws to pick in case the straw breaks midway. Service is good as the bartender had a good balance of having conversation versus making drinks and doing other housekeeping stuff. Overall, this is a decent bar in Belltown, a timely classic. I'd like to see more gin based drinks in the menu given this named as a gin bar, especially given the wide selection of gins on deck!
This was our first time at a speakeasy and this was a great introduction. We were taken into a dark and sketchy alleyway to find a wooden door. The bar took me back to the Shrek 2 movie. Made me feel like I'm at a small, traditional, old-timey, classic, prohibition-era bar but also the ambience of Shrek. It was so cool. The bartender really took care of us and gave us great recommendations, even for those of us who don't like gin. The vibes, drinks, and everything was perfect to end the night. We were very lucky to be placed at the bar because I do believe that is the best place to be.
Unpretentious speakeasy with great cocktails in Belltown. It is tucked away in the back alley of 2nd Ave. We usually stop here for drinks after dinner. The drinks are always great and the bartender is friendly. I had the never heard of escanaba from the menu and my boyfriend described what kind of drinks he preferred, and the bartender worked his magic. Both our drinks were well balanced. This would be a great spot for a date night or solo date.
This place is hidden in an alley way. You'll know when you're at the right place when you face the other direction and see a parking lot. They have happy hour from 5-7pm and seems to be daily (or at least on Saturday which is when I went) and includes $9 menu cocktails. Although there are a couple levels this is a really small space. I feel like it'd be rough to come here with a large party of 6 of more. Even with four it was hard to find a spot during the busier times. I was just by myself and had to stand for most of the time I was there because there just wasn't a ton of space or seats. They also don't take reservations so you may have to wait a bit. You'll also probably have to wait outside since there's no space indoors to wait. My first drink was the death star ($9) which was equal parts strong and sweet. It was a delicious cocktail and I'd highly recommend trying that. My second drink was the dapper as f*** ($9) which was dry and had a bitter aftertaste. I preferred the death star much more. This is a great speakeasy and I will be back! read more
TLDR; small speakeasy with an intimate vibe. Very small so come early if you don't want to wait. The entrance is in a back alley. I heard that the entrance is kind of difficult to find but luckily we came with a friend who has been here before. He walked us right to the entrance and we were seated immediately. It's a small space, with maybe 3-4 tables on the bottom floor, connected to a more private room. We didn't check it out because another group was already in there but it seems like if you come with a bigger group, that space would be perfect. Upstairs didn't seat much either. It took awhile for the server to see us but when she did, I ordered an Atticus Finch. Not too bad...for some reason the first sip tasted like it was pure alcohol but after that, it tasted just fine. I also tried a bit of the Nantucket Mongoose and I liked it better than the drink I ordered. Reminded me of cucumber water, super refreshing. It's a cool space and I think it's a nice stop if you're bar hopping around. I wish I got to try more speakeasies in Seattle so I could have something to compare Bathtub Gin to. read more
This place was not easy to find as we scootered our way through Seattle, we parked our scooter thinking we were right next to the place but we actually had to walk down an alley where there was a garbage truck driving by. When we walked in a waiter greeted us right away and took us downstairs. We sat down right under the stairs and due to spacing and Covid no one else was seating in the same area as us. There is a bathroom right downstairs and there is another room if you walk further inside. Our drinks were fabulous and this place really has a speakeasy feel to it. We also ordered olives which we asked the waiter for his recommendation and to my surprise the olives were very good and tasty. I would definitely go back to this place when I am back in Seattle. read more

Maybe should be the best kept secret of Seattle but, what a time! So small but love the ambiance. If you can , sit at the bar, especially if Jack is bartending! He'll gladly serve you a gin on the rocks or a craft cocktail from the menu, but he takes his craft seriously. He is an artist and will make you a customized cocktail curated specifically for you. He'll ask curious questions to get a feel for your taste and you will NOT be disappointed with the customized beverage you receive. We learned he does this by watching others receive gorgeous drinks, asking what they are, and hearing their answers of "I'm not sure, he made it just for me!" The photos I've posted are our three individually curated cocktails made to-order. I love this place, a very intimate find. read more

The funny part is I seen people just standing in line to get into this place. (At the time I had no idea what it was. I just wanted to see what people were standing in line about.) This place was a vibe. It's TINY inside tho! So get there early, or you will be waiting. lol read more

5/5, very cute speakeasy in belltown. We stopped by before a concert at the showbox and will certainly be back. I loved how the door man gave us the history of the speakeasy as we entered. I ordered a mock tail and it was incredible! My wife got a cocktail and also loved it. There's hidden money and notes in the book case as well - which was so fun. read more
Nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. Truly a Seattle gem and a must visit!! It's a speakeasy and it's properly hidden in a alley you otherwise wouldn't want to walk down. The door is marked with a small plaque that says "bathtub gin and co" Once and if you find it your in for a treat!! It's a small place that only hold about maybe 30 people max. It's split into a upstairs bar area and a small downstairs area with just a few tables. My wife and I sat downstairs and were able to enjoy the most delicious cocktails. You can either order from the menu or simply tell the waitress what type of things you like and let the bartender create something for you. I ordered from the menu and I wasn't disappointed at all. My wife had the bartender create something for her. Unfortunately she didn't like it at all, but the waitress was nice enough to take it away and replace it with something else. The place is quiet which is great. Makes it nice for a date or out with friends. The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant to be around. I highly recommend this place. I will be back as soon as possible. read more

Who goes to Bathtub Gin & Co and orders something that's not gin? This great little speakeasy bar is a experience to remember. Drinks are strong - although not sure how well I can remember how my cocktails tasted. The server is hard to pin down but she shows up eventually. Expect a wait for a server or try to order at the bar. I ordered a couple of gin cocktails because a, I'm a gin girl at heart and b, the bar is called Bathtub GIN. I started out with one of their signature gin cocktails but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. It may have been the Dot Dot Dot but I'm not sure. I did end up getting a Tom Collin's afterward - but obviously but first drink wasn't SUPER memorable - just your typical gin cocktail. Overall, I would love to come back to try some more of their gin cocktail creations. They will have to come up with something special next time so it's a bit more memorable, though. read more

Found this place by chance on our first night in Seattle - we ended up staying for hours! Dan was such a great bartender! He was friendly, fun and made DELICIOUS drinks! We ordered from the menu, and did bartenders choice and were so pleased with every drink. He also made us an extensive list of every other place we should visit while in town - from upscale dining, to karaoke, to Korean food, to dive bars. Dan's service and delicious cocktails were the highlight of our trip. Please go get drinks from him and please tip him well. read more

The ambiance at Bathtub Gin was really nice. All the service members including the host, server, and bartender were great. Cocktails were really good my favorite being the doting dottie. It can get warm in the summer with it being such an intimate place but the refreshing cocktails make it worthwhile. read more

Yes, you will wait in an alley to get in. Yes, even in that beautiful Seattle rain. It will be dark, it will be noisy, and it will be one of the most original bars you go to for cocktails. We had a blast here! Very gin joint like and is really quite beautiful and classy inside. Candle lit and intimate and the drinks are fantastic! We had been bar-hopping all day which is the only reason we didn't stay longer but what a treat! I can't wait to go back next time we are in town. read more

Love this place. It's super dark, which I kind of love. Service is good. I haven't ordered any food, but the drinks are nice. I'd recommend for a small group (4). Going back to the underground vibe and low lighting: if you like to dress up and be seen, this isn't for you. Since I love fashion, this isn't my go-to place for fashion inspo. But I do like it for chill vibe. Not for rowdy groups. read more

How different. How cool. How sneaky. My boyfriend had this place bookmarked prior to our visit to Seattle and we were able to swing by one night after having dinner close by. We weren't completely sure where this was exactly so thank you to the one person who posted a tip on Yelp saying where to look. When we got here the door was closed and there was about 5 people standing in front of us, up against the building. There was no sign outside to say the name of this place so we kind of just assumed that the line was for this speakeasy and we just waited to see what was gonna happen. Eventually we saw a man open the door and ask how many in the party up ahead and then close the door again without much of a word and that's when we knew we were at the right place. The guy mentioned it could be about 20 minutes before we were able to get inside, but we ended up waiting only another 5-6 minutes before we were able to enter so... try waiting at your own risk? It's like a body out, body in policy so maybe avoid coming with a large party if you're trying to get everyone in at the same time. The inside was sort of dark yet cool because the lights were dimly lit and it created this quiet, sneaky atmosphere for my boyfriend and I. Maybe if he wasn't my boyfriend then I would need all that darkness, but HA. I loved it. What I did have a problem with, and I'm sorry if you were the one working this night, was the fact that the bartender took forever with our drink orders and then with our drinks and then with the checks. It was hard to pin point where she was exactly because we saw her go upstairs then downstairs and repeat so everything just took a while. Drinks were decent, but I wish service was better. read more

Wow this really is a speakeasy in both good and bad ways. Of course, the whole semi secrecy thing is cool esp with the alley entrance. However, the interior is so small and the seating feels so squished together. It's a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, the drinks were pretty good and our server was nice. A pretty okay place in general. Nothing horrible but not great. Also be prepared to compete for the restroom. Where I was sitting, there was only one. read more
I'll be honest, Bathtub Gin was a mission to find! Well worth it though. The outside isn't much to look at, but the inside is awesome! Dark, cozy, intimate and multiple levels! The bartender, Jack, was super chill and served delicious cocktails. We visited on a Monday night, but be prepared for it to get packed later in the week/end. Highly recommend! read more

A cute speakeasy tucked away in a random alley. The drinks were really strong and presentation was also very nice. This is a good place for an intimate date night or if you just want to hang out with friends. King, the guy outside the door entrance was kind and welcoming and showed us around the place and told us about the history of Bathtub Gin. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance. Just be wary of no reservations and the small seating capacity. read more
