Within an expected back alley, you will find a wooden door with a small plate with the name"bathtub Gin" on it. If you are lucky to find the doorway, you should knock to enter this speakeasy. This speakeasy is the gateway to a relaxing environment that has an occupancy of 39 guest. Upstairs you will find a small bar with a single table for two. In the basement you will find more tables and a back room which holds more guest. For refreshments, if you are a gin fan then this is the place to stop for a drink or two has they have a long list of gins. If you are not a gin fan, there are plenty of other drinks to wet your whistle! We had great service on a Sunday, but during holidays, especially Halloween the place gets packed. You may want to secure a reservation during peak times. Lastly be careful in the area.

Nice dark vibe for a date night cocktail. I like their selection of gins and other spirits and the service was friendly.

Such a gem! As a Gin lover I stumbled across this little bar. Funny enough, I ordered a coconut Negroni which was delicious. A great place for the guys to hang, or bring a friend!! Immaculate vibes. I loved the bartender and service was consistent and fun.

We loved everything about BT&G! The whole vibe was on point for a speakeasy. Very laidback and social. We were immediately welcomed by a very knowledgeable waitress whole knew her way around different brands of gin! The drinks were top notch as well. This may be my new favorite hidden gem!

Very cool spot hidden in an alley in seattle. If you like gin, they're full of it! Our cocktails were well balanced, and I really enjoyed the spicy ness of the peppercorn in mine. Service was attentive and drinks were quick! We arrived right after they opened, and were sat right away. But this place is tiny! So if they fill up you may wait a bit.

Lowkey speak easy with an extensive list of gins (and other spirits). Friendly bartenders with approachable attitudes and good recommendations. They have everything from sweet, bitter, balanced, whatever you want and how you want it. Inside is small and first come first serve. The later it gets the less chance of finding a seat. Last time I came in, I was an early bird (Around 7:30pm on a week night) so was able to find seating.

One of our friends found this little gem of a speakeasy for us to visit, and thankfully we went because it was such a cool experience! When you get to the location, it's an apt building and tells you to go around back. This is when, I'd say the experience starts, bc as you walk around, you end up in an ally at a back door that could seem to be considered to some as a bit sketchy! But we were committed to the cause! So in we went, and were greeted and seated promptly. Definitely more of an original speakeasy type vs the fancy dolled up ones you see all over IG, which made this that much better! We were seated in a dimly lit room that had some great music going that was a very chill, yet upbeat vibe. Joe was our rad server for the evening, and was great at recommending some cocktails for us based on our alcohol preferences. I opted for the old fashion which was a great choice for a delicious nightcap. If you find your way being in downtown Seattle, definitely give it a go and enjoy!

Have been wanting to try this place for awhile some friends and I happen to be in the area for dinner and one of my friends suggested stopping in here for a night cap. We had a table downstairs dark space but so much character. The tim ceiling and lighting as you walk into the entrance. We loved our server so knowledgeable about the cocktails and the brands if gin. was great assisting my friend at selecting the perfect gin for his negroni. Attentive and friendly let my friend have a taste of the Gin she suggested for the Negroni on its on which we appreciated.

This was our first time at a speakeasy and this was a great introduction. We were taken into a dark and sketchy alleyway to find a wooden door. The bar took me back to the Shrek 2 movie. Made me feel like I'm at a small, traditional, old-timey, classic, prohibition-era bar but also the ambience of Shrek. It was so cool. The bartender really took care of us and gave us great recommendations, even for those of us who don't like gin. The vibes, drinks, and everything was perfect to end the night. We were very lucky to be placed at the bar because I do believe that is the best place to be.

This place gives somewhat speakeasy feels as it can be fairly easy to walk past this place without noticing, especially when it's not busy. It's located in the alley between 1st and 2nd Ave, and on a warmer day, you will be walking past rancid trash to get to the destination. The unfavorable exterior transforms into a somewhat classy and traditional ambience inside. The bar has upstairs bar and downstairs table seating, so take your pick since it's walk-in only and they take no reservations. I went here on a Tuesday after dinner around 7pm and I was surprised to find I was the only one there. I opted to sit at the bar for more interactions with the bartender and see their craft. I got the Aria de Capo which drinks like a dirty martini but a bit more citrusy from the lemons used. I was open to try and know it wasn't really my thing, but it's better than a traditional dirty martini. I also got the Mama and the Judge that is sweeter and more balanced. It's more tropical and much easier to drink. The straw they gave was very fragile so be careful, but the bartender was nice to give a handful of straws to pick in case the straw breaks midway. Service is good as the bartender had a good balance of having conversation versus making drinks and doing other housekeeping stuff. Overall, this is a decent bar in Belltown, a timely classic. I'd like to see more gin based drinks in the menu given this named as a gin bar, especially given the wide selection of gins on deck!

A speakeasy is a MUST when traveling. This was hidden in an alley which my friends and boyfriends were all skeptical of but I was sure of it! We entered through the wooden door after knocking and was immediately seated down. The area was simple and cute. The drinks we got were STRONG but we still enjoyed it. Wish we saw the bar upstairs though!

Unpretentious speakeasy with great cocktails in Belltown. It is tucked away in the back alley of 2nd Ave. We usually stop here for drinks after dinner. The drinks are always great and the bartender is friendly. I had the never heard of escanaba from the menu and my boyfriend described what kind of drinks he preferred, and the bartender worked his magic. Both our drinks were well balanced. This would be a great spot for a date night or solo date.

We popped in here for a quick drink after dinner on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation, but around 10pm there was no wait and we were able to head right in and grab seats at the bar upstairs. The place is small and has a cozy, speakeasy feel with dim lighting and an intimate vibe. I had a Hugo spritz, which was refreshing and light, and then we were on our way. It's worth stopping in for a drink if you're nearby but I wouldn't go out of your way.

    Is there a dress code?

Not at all. But the place is nice so you want to wear something appropriately, casual smart I would say

Is it 21+ or is 20 okay?

It is 21+. A gentleman sits right at the door checking IDs

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

I underestimated the attractiveness of Happy Hour where many drinks are $1 to $3 off. The place was full and became even fuller (and louder) by the end of our meal. This bar is hopping with many regulars, alcohol-filled, with multiple screens televising sports. When we went in October, the food menu says the food is discounted 25% off during certain late hours. The current online menu doesn't say that anymore. Not sure if that deal is still available. Our server was easygoing. Note they charge 3% for credit card use. The Food: SRB Burger, $22 - 3 Stars Menu: Painted Hills beef, burrata mozzarella, basil aioli, arugula, pickled onions, hand cut fries Per the menu description, this burger sounded great. Unfortunately for hubby, this burger has the exact pet peeve that he dislikes the most - where the patty is small and tall (he calls it ball shape) compared to the bun. The patty diameter is significantly smaller than the bun. He literally hates that. I had to tilt the camera much lower to see the patty inside. On the plus side, the fries are great. Grilled Shrimp Club, $24 - 3.5 Stars Menu: bacon, lettuce, tomato, house made guacamole, roasted chipotle aioli, hand cut fries This club sandwich is very good except for the one thing that the menu didn't specify - the bun. They use ciabatta bread, which I find doughy, thick, and overwhelms a sandwich. That is my pet peeve for a sandwich. Neither of us is betting well on this night. They are probably more of a 3.5 Stars overall. We find their prices to be high, especially since they additionally charge a credit card fee. When we went, the cost was $21, $23 respectively. The prices are now $22 and $24 per online menu. I would not return for food only. I would return for a bar vibe.

I would love to have a nice bar to patronize, but the bar food menu doesn't match bar food vibe. I am curious what dinner would be like here. Whoever owns this bar and whoever is curating this menu is absolutely a music head. No debate. And here's your gentle PSA: please pass that love of music AND hip-hop history to your waitstaff. Because what happened to me... was personal. There are three drinks on the menu that basically scream, "someone in here grew up on hip-hop and never emotionally left the 90s." We've got: ATLiens Aquemini 2 ____ a Butterfly (fill in the blank, but if you know, you KNOW Kendrick Lamar, 2015) Now listen this is not "aqua-mini." This is Outkast. Andre 3000. Big Boi. Southern rap royalty. It is pronounced Ah-kwim-in-eye The waitress looks me dead in my soul and says, "Oh, you mean the Aqua-mini." I was transported out of my body. Now here's the issue: I would've let it go...if a Kendrick Lamar song wasn't also on the menu. Because why are we confidently mispronouncing Outkast while casually referencing Pulitzer-level rap on the same drink list? At that point I realized I was surrounded by people under 34 who had never had to wait for TRL, decode a CD booklet, or defend Southern rap. No one in my group shared my emotional breakdown. Not one gasp. Prices & Drinks (important part): Let's talk about the $18 drink situation. I paid $18 for an Aquemini and received...vibes. Not buzz. At $18, I expect at least a whisper of alcohol. Instead, I got decorative hydration. My husband's Blueberry Smash? Better. More flavor. More personality. So now I'm sitting there thinking: I paid premium pricing for a drink I had to defend and pronounce correctly myself... and still left sober. Food: I was a little hungry and ordered fried shrimp (not on the online menu) The shrimp was fine. Just fine. The dipping sauce tried its best, and I respect that effort. Why is everything either wagyu, mussels, duck, or something you need a culinary degree to pronounce like gruyere but I can't just get a basic bar plate? Wagyu sliders, chicken bites would have been nice because I don't usually go out thinking, "Tonight feels like Wagyu and mussels at the bar." Service: I'm from Los Angeles, so I'm familiar with urban sketchy with a side of vibes. The activities near the parking spaces was very sketch. I was with a group of 8, including my husband so I felt protected by numbers. Inside, it was a Friday night but surprisingly empty. The music was loud enough to feel like a party, but quiet enough that you could still hear each other. We tried to rearrange seating to accommodate our group and the waitress said "I'm not walking around you, so keep this aisle clear." Which was fair, but also, there are gentler ways to say "I need this walkway." Or tell us the better way to set up seating in the empty bar. I didn't have a second drink frankly because I was never asked. Most places I go the waitress will come and ask if I want another drink.
