The customer service was accidentally Hilarious!!! but still very professional!. I came to pick up an order for my mom she loves B&BW & the wallflowers she really wanted the other locations didn't have them all so I hoped on the train to get them all here!!. The lady in front who I thought was a customer was the manager training a young lady on online orders!! I got my stuff well I picked up the wrong bag & went to the side to check why is it so heavy. April, April I heard from afar! Girl Did you take my bag, me & the manager laughing the whole time I was surely about to walk out she was like girl I was about to hunt you down. I'm calling you like you owe me money I agreed we laughed while I was walking towards the exit . . We talked some more then I left. This Bath & Body always has every item I need in stock!! I never shop at B&BW because I react badly to most scents, but I had a gift card so I thought I'd try it. After testing a lot of scents,, I bought 2 body sprays, and 3 travel size hand creams. They are all awful. Seems like they use a base scent in all their products and no matter what the scent is, the base scent comes through. I hate throwing them out, but probably will. Or, I may take them back. I don't even want my money back. Ugh. read more

Yet, the suave Walker talked me into trying something new & happy happy go lucky, they were on sale. It seems I only get my coupons when I order online, yet lucked up on some good discounts. Plus, who wants to pay for shipping when you can walk into the store & get your goodies & take a smell or two? Maybe not 100% change, yet trying something new is always good. I am all about the packaging and colors. I could walk around just looking at all the pretty displays. The soaps are great. They used to be six for $15, now they are six for $18. Keep your hands clean is fun with all of the choices in hand sanitizers and covers (request....get cow covers!). The employees are nice. They offer help but don't stalk while you look. Came in here to exchange a candle and lotion we got as a christmas gift for a different scent. While an employee was helping us check out at the register, what must've been the manager came over and reprimanded the cashier infront of us for letting customers exchange the scent without checking with her first. She told her with an attitude that she would let it go this "one time." And then went off somewhere else. Then when the employee was bagging our items, she used two bags instead of one and that must've set her off again because she came back to the register and bagged it instead of letting her do it. Not sure what triggered the fuss to begin with but this left a negative impression of this store. read more

Typical B&B works store-lots of bright colors, testers on display, and all- around good smells. It was their semi-annual sale and, while it's been awhile since I've visited during this time, I was kind of disappointed in the pricing of items. No real "sales" to be found on regular sized lotion and sprays. It was more like sales on hand sanitizers and candles. They did have decent pricing on the mini lotions and sprays so I left with a couple of those. Staff was friendly but not stalker-like. I will definitely plan on returning since I really, really like the warm vanilla sugar body lotion although I have found a new favorite too-life is a peach. read more

I had an ok time shopping around until when I got to the register. There was an male associate that rubbed me the wrong way. Sliding my items out the way when they weren't interfering with what he had too do, it just came off as passive aggressive. Not a good location at all. Store is bland and poorly stocked. Employees are rude and think they are something special by working at that store? Which confuses me immensely, needless to say I will not be returning here i dont like this bland poorly run location with nasty employees. The store manager Lizzy at Pentagon City is rude and definitely displayed racism toward me during my visit today. As she was ringing me up, I took out my phone to pull up the promotion for the lip glosses to show her. After displaying a puzzled look while looking at the email, I assisted her by pointing out the in store code. She quickly returned my phone to me and denied my promotion, stating that she doesn't accept IG (Instagram) promotions. I informed her that what she's looking at is an email sent to me from the company, not IG. She looked again and stated that she can't find the code, again I pointed out the code to her. She returns me my phone again and scans her paper noting the promotion. I asked if she's already aware of the promotion, why give me such a hard time? She proceeded to check me out and asked if I wanted my receipt printed or EMAILED. If you are of color I strongly suggest not supporting this location! I will never buy another item from the Pentagon City location. read more

I'm not usually a fancy soap type of person but their christmas season line of soap really got me hooked. They smelled so good!! This store had many many options from soaps, lotions, antibacterial, candles, etc and I was surprised to find it so organized. They had a lot of good sales as well. This place loses a star because their sales people were not very friendly here. The staff did not smile and did not say "thank you" after ringing me up at the register. It is no wonder this store has a low rating. The worst customer service. I have worked retail in the past and we were not permitted to hold things for an employee that a customer wanted to purchase. An employee did that right in my face knowing that it was last one of the item. Then I wanted a price adjustment on an item and the employee lied to me and told me it wasn't marked down further (had to go to another location to complete it). Thirdly I wanted to exchange a wall flower and they refused because they said I didn't have the receipt from when I bought it 3 months prior (not consistent with BBW policies). The employee told me she spoke to the manager over the phone and I needed to call customer service. I called her bluff and called customer service right then and there and the customer service told me they spoke to the manager Judith who just 2 minutes ago was only available over the phone according to the employee. The customer service of course told them to exchange it consistent with their policies. After spending over $500 in BBW, you seriously are going to be petty about exchanging a Wall Flower!!! I also bought items for myself and my nanny and wanted an extra bag to put her things separately but I was told I couldn't get another bag because they gave me cello bags??? This store is sad and in a washed up struggling mall location. Good luck keeping this location viable with this kind of service. I will never visit here outside of SAS because they always have good inventory because of low traffic through the mall. read more

I visited the Pentagon City location in Arlington, VA on Sunday December 08, 2019 at approximately 2 PM. This was a Christmas shopping trip for my eleven year old daughter, which was also her first on her own experience where she would be spending her own money. Needless to say she was super excited about spending her own money. Upon our arrival we were asked if we needed any assistance as usual by the greeters near the door. We informed them that we were just looking and deciding on what we wanted to purchase. My daughter and I walked around, she made her selections and we headed to the cash register. We were called to the register that Nia (Cashier # 3368271) was operating. Upon our arrival to her register, she did not greet us. She began ringing up my daughters purchase. We asked her if we could use a coupon that we had on an app, her response was very curt and she replied "we don't take third party coupons from that app". When we inquired why she said that "it has to be downloaded from your email". That was acceptable if that was the policy. She then proceeded to make a snide remark saying "Is it 7 o'clock yet?" We paid for our items and she flicked the receipt at me. She didn't say thank you, have a nice day, nothing. She just called the next customer. I decided that her attitude was disrespectful and that my family would not patronize a store that allowed its employees to be that disrespectful. I then asked another employee that was cleaning up a spill if we could return our items, she said that we had to get in line and walked behind the counter. From my assumption she went to warn Nia that we were returning our items. This other employee stood behind the counter and watched as we returned our items. I told Nia that I was returning my items and she let out a loud sigh. As she began the transaction she commented to the other employee that "They working my nerves today". She processed the transaction and told me that I couldn't make my return with Apple Pay and I had to insert my card. Another employee told her that she was incorrect. I tapped my phone and the transaction went through. Again she flicked the receipt at me and didn't say thank you. Nia and the other employee began to snicker as my daughter and I walked away. While leaving the store I immediately made a call to the corporate phone number to make a complaint, however I was disconnected due to poor reception in the mall. I took my daughter to Victoria's Secret to purchase 6 body sprays instead. The customer service there was excellent. I am very disappointed that my eleven year old had to witness and experience this lack of respect, because Bath and Body Works is one of her favorite stores. *** Side Note*** I used a coupon code from that same third party app and was able to get $8 off of a potential purchase! I stumbled across this store trying to waste time because my phone was being fixed upstairs. I just so happened to come in while they were running their "Buy 3, Get 3 Free" sale. The staff was beyond nice. One of the staff members (I wish I could remember her name) introduced me to a lot of new products. I ended up doing the "Buy3, Get 3 Free", bought new hand sanitizers and some Shea Butter infused socks (which are AMAZING). I will definitely be back. read more

I just had the worst experience in BBW at Pentagon City. There was a 50% off display for Gift sets and so I grabbed one for a family member. I had smelled the fragrance and felt it would be a perfect for for her. I was planning to see her tomorrow and was excited about giving her this gift. Wellll... when I got to the register the associate rang up all my items and the set came up as full price. I inquired about the discrepancy and was told that the set I had chosen wasnt a part of the sale. I then pointed to the display where 4 other sets of the same kind had been merchandized. The associate then repeated that it was a mistake and mentioned it to another associate working in the store. I asked if she would honor the price as it was listed and she said she would not. I asked for a manager and she made me aware that she was the manager. She just stood callously in front of me as if I was trying to get over on them as we both stood still looking at the display that had the item with the wrong price listed. I had some other items that I was going to purchase as well and at first I just told her to take the set off and I would get the rest...but then as I watched her, she wasnt apologetic at all. Her nastiness cost her the entire sale. The discount was about $7.00 and even with the discount I still was about to spend over $50 in the store, as a matter fact I wanted to...but I just couldn't. I couldn't support a business that in that moment appeared to not value it's customer. I gave all of it back and told her maybe next time...but I know there won't be a next time. This was my last time purchasing any thing BBW of Pentagon Centre. Customer Service is the most important element of shopping...I may want an item, maybe even need it...but if I am not treated with respect when spending my hard earned money...I have learned to keep my money. read more
