This beauty store was okay. The two gentlemen that were working there the day that I visited were so funny and nice. The store had a decent variety of hair, skin, makeup, hygiene, essential oil, nail/hair salon, and male/female grooming products. It also sold wigs, stockings, trouser socks, bathroom accessories, skin whitening products, butt lifters, decorative tights, bandanas, turbans, nipple covers, fashion accessories, and sexy lingerie. A heads up: their fashion accessories, stockings, and trousers are from the '80s -'90s. Throwback in time. I was surprised to see that they were still on sale. Came here looking for some blonde-toned clip in human hair extensions and was pretty excited to go because it seemed like they had a decent selection. It was ok. But the main thing is that I currently have 3 toned hair on the ash side and wanted to bring the blonde out a little more during special occasions- hence, the blonder-toned hair extensions. The guy I got kept insisting on giving me warm toned brown hair extensions. Didn't matter what I wanted or what I had to say, I kept getting talked over. Well he talked me right out of the store because I didn't get to see what I wanted anyways. Went to Sally's Beauty Supply right after and without saying a word about what color I was looking for, the representative picked up a set of extensions and said "This ash-toned blonde would look really good on you with your current hair color." Thank you, Sally beauty supply- they knew way better. I wish I could give this place more stars but at the end of the day, they didn't make me feel like I could get what I wanted there. read more

I visited on a weekday and there was plenty of parking outside. I loved that the employee wore a mask and was willing to help me find basically everything thing I was looking for. He was super knowledgeable and made sure to show me all of my options. I also love that everything was reasonably priced. Much better deals than what you would find at a retail chain. The men that work at this store watch you very closely. Whenever I'd walk in, I'd instantly notice that I was being watched and followed around. It made me very uncomfortable. It was my first time there and I wanted to take my time and review products. He would not leave. He stood in the next isle and literally stared at me and followed me. These guys are okay, the same price at Amazon. However, after 3 years there, I went there and the cashiers brother followed me around to the hair dye section. African american women do NOT like be followed around, like I was going to steal some $12 Loreal hair dye. This small beauty supply is OK if you need specialized hair products, especially clip-in hair. I do like their good selection of NYX make-up though. Nail supplies are severely lacking, but if you need a basic OPI color, you'd be fine here. I love this place!! Forget getting extensions anywhere else--this place hands down has the best prices and selection. It looks like it caters to African American clients from the outside but the selection spans the gamut. I got human hair blonde clip-in extensions for a fraction of the price at other places and even online. It is also the only place that has a huge selection of dread beads and accessories. I got a ton of super cheap, durable beads that have helped keep my dreads freshy fresh. The Armanian dude that runs it is pretty chill and helpful, too. Ask for the pretty girl discount. read more

I love this place! I was desperate to find a beauty supply store near my home. This place doesn't turn up on Google searches or maps but trust me it exists and is worth the trip! The store is compact but they have a huge selection of hair, skin, and makeup. They have the biggest selection of NYX makeup/products I've seen (more than Ulta). Their prices for NYX are the best too. I was also impressed at how much merchandise they were able to fit in the store. If you can't find what you are looking for just ask! The two salesmen were beyond helpful and courteous during my first visit. They even offered to order anything I needed if it wasn't already in-store! Don't schedule a hair appointment...Poor customer service from the stylist..I scheduled an appointment to have cornrows put in ..drove 35 miles and the stylist said she can only do it if I used synthetic hair..Which is crazy! I have had my hair conrowed several time with human hair..then she tried to talk me into getting a full weave.. and when I told that's not what I wanted.. she refused me service...Unbelievable! Called and asked if they had any wigs with transparent lace. He interrupted me and said "ma'am we have over 700 wigs here! Many different kinds! Synthetic, human, full lace, long..." Ok that's wonderful! But it's a bit far and would like to know if they have a specific kind I'm looking for before I waste my time going out there. So I respond by explaining further, "Great! So you know how there are different colors of lace for the wigs or frontals? I really want the clear transparent and not any shade of brown. Do you know if you-" He goes "like I said, we have many different kinds of hair! Our hair is mostly virgin. Best quality. Very good. But there are some others. Virgin is better. You can bleach or dye to whatever you want." Hm okayyy I did want blonde so that's actually nice info, but I was asking about the LACE. I tried again. He insisted on talking about the hair. I'm a die hard fan of Crystal's. I was a customer at the store in the shopping center. I've been around for many years and for good reasons, Yes it's a small establishment, but it has a gigantic beautifully molded atmosphere geared to bend over backwards for it's Guest, yes I said guest.That's how they treat the women and men who patronize their establishmment and I have had my hair done on many ocassions in addtion to shopping there, I love that place. I'm surprised to see only one review for they have a pretty large following. All staff is great people with beautiful personalities. What's so great about Cystal's is if a guest is not pleased, which is rare, staff will not heistate to right a wrong I've have witnessed that. I'm just trying to say how they go beyond to please their customers. I like to thank the staff for the patience and care they use in dealing with their customers.
