As…read moresomeone who has moved quite a bit (including 2 cross country moves) I am pretty good at giving a moving company all pertinent information relating to my move so we can move, pun intended, as quickly as possible. While the movers (including the owner) did show up on time, that was about all they did correctly for my move. It took them almost 4 hours to move the large pieces of furniture from my 1 bedroom apartment (with an elevator) into the truck. I had already moved all boxes and small items myself to the loading area prior to their arrival. The movers had NO EQUIPMENT, not even gloves, to carry anything or expedite the process. When we arrived at my new location (2nd floor walk up in JP) They seem to take their time moving things in (I moved more in then they did) and when my couch needed to be hoisted up, the owner seemed to be upset with me. He told me time and again during the day about how they know how to move people in Boston. "This is our business. We know what we are doing." Yet, they had no equipment and were unprepared to hoist anything. The total move took 8 hours! Then the owner made it seem like he was doing me a favor by coming back 2 days later and hoisting my couch up. Not only will I not use them again but after the near $1000 I spent, I actively recommend against them!

This really should have been a two day job, the crew and we were exhausted by the end of the day. I'm not really upset about the cost difference because I knew what their hourly rate was. The crew really wanted to get it all wrapped up for us by the end of the day instead of stretching to another day because they had another job the next day bright and early. The booking office is really putting their workers through the wringer and I don't appreciate that. The crew was kind and delicate with our items. They were being gracious and offering to do whatever we wanted with regards to helping pack remaining items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and organizing things at the new house. I may have taken note of their time for these things if it hadn't been clear by noon that this was going to already be a very long day. By 10pm I was just happy to have everything remaining that we own in the garage. So I did enjoy the crew, but if you go with this company and have a lot of stuff then you need to do some legwork yourself to get an accurate estimate. I had a three bedroom 1700 sqft house with a large basement and garage and it took 15 hours and cost $4k.

The movers made contact when they were en route to my location, and showed up on time. All three of the movers introduced themselves, and post my tour of what they needed to move, they went to work. Our move was sizeable 3bd apt in a house to a 2bd smaller townhouse. They disassembled, reassembled, and arranged furniture in the most effective configuration. If moving is a stressful event, these are the guys you want pulling into your driveway. HUGE smiles, greetings, friendly! All put me at ease immediately, and we began the process. Sam explained all the billing to me, and we headed into and around the house to tour all the furniture and boxes they were to load up and move away. From the first second (NOT an exaggeration), they dove in, and boxes were being moved in almost a seamless fashion. A bit over an hour later (maybe closer to an hour and a half), they were on their way. They arrived - again - all smiles, checking in with me: how was I doing? And we toured the new house and explained where everything would go. They hustled, delivering boxes and furniture to all the designated rooms. They asked questions if they were unsure. AND for me, probably one of the biggest, most helpful moments, we negotiated for them to assemble my youngest's bed. I could not have done it. They worked tirelessly (well, maybe they were tired - but their assurances and smiles belied any weariness or frustration) and assembled the most complicated bed I have ever seen! Courteous and communicative at first, then the objective fails:…read more-Tore wires off the side of my house with truck, looked at me and said "oops." -Tore screen door, initially denied then said it was "irrelevant" and "twenty dollars to fix" -Disassembled bed frame in the yard -Stood on recycle bins and meter to reattach wires -Damaged wall and never acknowledged Edit: yes, we did speak on the day of the move and money was taken off which may have been acceptable if we weren't still discovering damage days later. I have no doubt you asked if I directly witnessed the wires coming down. Company name should be Plausible Deniability.
