    Dubai chocolate cookie
    Huyen N.

Located inside UTC. It's still one of my favorite places to get cookies. Not only their classic flavors but their seasonal ones are usually good, too. And, of course, friendly staff.

The Classic, The Cocoa PB, The Doodle, The Pink Lady, The Dubai, The Dubai Brownie, Midnight Blossom

Cookies: In general, the cookies are big in size and packed with "layers" (not actual layers) of flavor The Classic (8/10) - perfect plump cookie with a touch of salt. i love a salted taste on chocolate chip cookies. it had a lot of chocolate chips too! The Cocoa PB (8.5/10) - loved the peanut butter chunks in the cookie! the combo between the cocoa and pb somehow balanced each other out very well. The Doodle (7/10) - it's like a snickerdoodle and very cinnamony. felt like fall flavors which is perfect in season right now. The Dubai (6.5/10) - super sweet and definitely for those who have sweet tooth or love chocolate! half of the cookie is covered in melted chocolate sprinkled with pistachios. HUGE cookie though. The Dubai Brownie (7/10) - had a crispy pistachio cream at the top and a drizzle of what i assume is white chocolate. this one's super sweet in my opinion so if you love sweets this is great for you. i loved the texture of this one a lot with the mix of crunch and softness. Midnight Blossom (7.5/10) - i love berries so this was great for me. it also had white chocolate chips and wasn't as sweet as others. it had a balanced flavor and taste. Service: Super friendly, conversational, and helpful staff here! Ambiance: Very bright and small store that's minimally decorated but still cute. Pretty clean and has a big window where you can see the kitchen. Lots of people will make a stop from this store when I visited.

Cute little cookie shop located on the outside of the Westfield mall. Service was great, and the cookies were amazing! I do wish there was seating available to enjoy the cookies. Inside was clean and well maintained.

Batch & Box @ UTC LA JOLLA Parking is available for free for the first two hours. Passing by Batch & Box made me walk straight in, the smell was UNBELIEVABLE. My boyfriend and I walked in and they were pretty busy with only two staff members available. There was samples on the far left side, not sure why it was hidden from the room of customers walking in, it was more in the corner and was self serve. Customer service could've been worked on, no one greeted or really asked if we had questions. It was like just blank stare awaiting for people to order then leave. We decided to get the their most popular cookie that had I believe was called the pink lady? Not too sure. But it was the only one that spoke differently on the menu, it had raspberries and white chocolate chip inside. Taking a bite was magical, I loved EVERY single bite, it was warm and so flavorful. The price of each cookie is about $5. Overall, I will definitely be back to this place. It is pricey for just a cookie, but this is way better than any cookie i've ever had. So flavorful and unique! Hopefully the workers will be friendly and greet next time, especially to the first timers!

Cute small cookie store next to Blue Bottle in UTC. We were drawn by a sign attracting a dubai chocolate cookie and came in to order a single cookie of that. Price is pretty high for a cookie, I believe $5-6 for a single. The cookie had a chocolate dough and pistachio katalfi filling. Crunchy and very unique!! We ate it with our coffee. They have other unique cookies , recommend trying them out.

Gourmet cookies! We love the rotating flavors but also the staples as well. It's nice to just walk in and out whenever we have a sweet craving. A bit pricey per cookie, but worth it! We prefer this place over Crumbl.

The same as the batch & box in Del Mar, delicious as always. I finally got to try the Dubai Chocolate cookie and my kids wanted the frosted sugar cookie (which would be my last choice but they love it). I love Dubai chocolate anything, and while this was just as good as all the other flavors, I just prefer the original chocolate chip or the gentleman (double chocolate chip). Slightly crispy edges but perfectly soft on the inside. The staff were friendly, patient and helpful as always and it's clean and simple inside. I like that you can see into where they make the cookies. It's located on the outside perimeter of utc mall so perfect for picking up cookies on your way out. One of the best cookies!

Got the Classic, Dubai, and Snickerdoodle cookies for the 1st time. I liked Dubai best. The Classic is good. The Snickerdoodle is alright. Let's just say I finished the Dubai in no time. Appreciated the Classic. I only ate half of my Snickerdoodle. I gotta try the other flavors next time. Love the service at this place. Very welcoming crew. The Ambiance is great too. Nice and cool inside the store despite it being really warm outside. I will definitely come back to try the other flavors.

Ordered 4 dozen cookies and everyone was raving about them! These were the best cookies I've had and ended up ordering some for my company's meeting. I started off by ordering 2 dozen online but added on another 2 dozen when we realized there would be more people. There was a miscommunication on their end and the driver ended up only delivering 2 dozen, but I called and they were super quick to fix the issue and had one of their workers deliver the second half! I love this place and will continue to come by and buy cookies. I was introduced to this from the free birthday treat they had and it was so delicious!

One of our fave cookie spots. Better than crumbl and comparable to levain. Our fave cookie is ther wonder cookie but too bad they haven't had this in a while! Came on a Sunday night towards closing. I say better to come earlier coz I feel like their cookies aren't as fresh and has been sitting on the counter. We got their half dozen but didn't realize or was told that some of the cookies were $1.50 extra so some of em can be $6-7 which is pretty steep. Overall solid cookie. Just some things that can be improved on

I am always up for a good cookie! FOOD: We got the classic chocolate chip cookie and let me tell you if you like chocolate this is the cookie for you!! The cookie is very chucky and a big flavor bomb. I love the sprinkles of sea salt on the top. Just a good yummy cookie that will hit any chocolate chip lovers spot. I will say if you like a cookie with light chocolate this is not for you. SERVICE: Simple grab and go cookie spot. AMBIANCE: Looked modern and clean. OVERALL, will I be back? If I am in the are yes but I would not go somewhere specifically looking for this place.

Tried Batch & Box for the first time because the Dubai cookie caught my eye. Dubai chocolate is something I've been curious about so I decided to give it a try. The store was clean and very cute. The packaging for the cookie is really nice if you order larger amounts. They put it in a box so it would make a good gift to give to someone. The cookie is huge and very decadent. I had to split it with a friend, I don't think I could have finished it in my own. The pistachio filling was pretty interesting. I was expecting a soft mushy texture, but it had more of a crunchy texture to it. It was good for satisfying my curiosity, but I'll probably give the other flavors a try in the future.

My husband and I stopped here after grabbing a coffee at Blue Bottle next door. Their cookies looked amazing so I had to try one! The one I had tasted like a gingerbread cookie, is really soft and cinnamony but a little bit too much like a gingerbread cookie, it just felt like a holiday cookie maybe not best for all season. Overall it was really good in TC cookie, was it worth the price I'm not too sure. But I'm glad I got to give it a try!

The surprise favorite was the caviar bread: salty, fishy, briny topping on crusty bread that somehow just worked SO well. We also split a croque monsieur which was warm, cheesy, and perfect to balance out all the pastries. I wish they had real cutlery (vs only plastic disposables) for dine in customers. Our family shared all these goodies and a plastic knife was no match for some of them. Overall, really good quality pastries and breads, worth the early lineup. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Hard to find many other places. They also have tea and coffee, and my husband and I LOVE their hojicha latte, which boasts a nice earthy-to-sweet ratio. If you want a grounded flavor without getting another coffee, try the hojicha latte! This is just below the price for an Extraordinary Desserts cake slice, which is not only bigger and more complex, but also made fresh. We noticed the crepe cake slice we got had that dusting of ice sparkles, indicating it was frozen and defrosting, and additionally, as it defrosted, the more it started leaning. Would definitely come back and get that again. The store is pretty small, so you get the baked goods togo, but if you can't wait to get them home they do have tables outside so you can enjoy them.

Lines are always better with a friend and even though we all arrived before opening there was still a healthy line. I was really excited, to finally get to check them out, I saw on their socials that a new chef had taken residency and that they came with some Filipino flair. As a fellow Filipino I definitely wanted to support. I ended up ordering a lumpia roll, ube butter ensaymada, a halo halo tart and a egg sando sandwich along with an iced matcha with honey, with tip my total was $48, which isn't horrible considering these are meant to be higher quality pastries. My girlfriends and I found a table and decided we would share, I shared my egg sando sandwich and the lumpia roll, while they shared their ube butter ensaymada and the turon kouign amann. My matcha, was a horrible, it was a muddy green and really lacked any matcha flavor, my friend didn't like her matcha either and she had the miso caramel matcha. I didn't even finish my matcha and I can really take one down. We joked about how we should have opted for the orange juice instead. Now for the pastries, I was really underwhelmed by them, the ensaymada was just fine, I honestly cannot remember the taste of it, it lacked something. The egg sando sandwich, the filling was plentiful and flavorful BUT the bread was dry, was that potato bread? The texture was off for me and I ended up just scooping out the filling and eating it like that. Where the sando had a good amount of filling the lumpia roll lacked it, it was so sparse I figured it would be more like a sausage roll so I was taken aback by how little there was in it. Flavors were fine, the pastry was buttery but I just wanted a little more. The one pastry we agreed was better than the rest was the turon kouign amann, the crunchy bits of sugar was so reminiscent of turon but the filling, for me was like uncooked banana bread batter, that threw me off entirely. It was better, but not the filling. So overall, I would say it was okay, I guess for the costs it just didn't meet my expectations.

This review is for the rolled banana croissant . Every time I visit I always order the rolled banana croissant and it never disappoints!!! The round croissant is cut in half, piped with delicious cream that is perfectly sweet that goes so well with the caramel sauce and bananas, perfect combo! If the bakery reads this review, it would be even better if there were a few more banana slices inside or caramelized banana on top, IMO. One more thing, it would be awesome if you opened on weekends. Today I ordered the banana and creme brulee rolled croissant and the banana was better. I was the only customer so ordering was simple. There are 3 tables in the store and a few outside the store. I'll be back when I have another sweet craving.
