I have never felt so sure about giving a 5 start rating as I do for Natalie and Bat Haus. We had our daughters wedding there on 9-17-2016 and the whole experience was wonderful. Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful, but Natalie was there every step of the way, alway accessible and helpful. She was even there, the morning of, helping us decorate! She is genuinely interested in making sure the experience is the best it possibly can be. We have received so many compliments about how fun the wedding was and how awesome the space was. The Bat Haus is a true co-working space with an amazing community of creative people. And the owners, Natalie and Cody, couldn't be cooler. And its right off the L Train. You could throw a rock from the Subway stairs to this place. The issues i've had at other co-working spaces is the amount of table space I need. As a freelance video editor schlepping around a ton of hard drives I find their tables to be sturdy and spacious. Also their conference room is a great place to have a meeting and hash out ideas. Did I mention they also have a back patio you can hang out in if you need some fresh air or a break? The Bat Haus has saved me from a life of working in my underwear from my apartment. And as great as that sounds its the bane of most freelancers existence. The only question is why didn't I know about this place sooner? read more

We just got married in Bat Haüs! It was a blast. It's a unique space for a wedding that feels very ad hoc, with a hip vibe, but is actually very well suited to a decent size wedding and reception (we had about a hundred people and didn't feel cramped at all). Natalie's a pro at setting up events, including weddings, and will recommend a caterer who's used to the space. There's a small outside space, and rooms upstairs for the backstage work to happen (and for us to hide). The surrounding area is covered with awesome Bushwick Art Collective street art, which is great for wedding photo backdrops. It's also very convenient by subway. Natalie set up some hanging lights strung along the walls and across the room, and we added a few of our own decorations. If you can, I'd suggest hiring one or two extra people to help clean up at the end of the night, and maybe help set up at the beginning. read more

Bat Haus is a beautiful spacious location in which my baby shower was held. We had about 100 people and we were all able to fit pretty comfortably ( except I had set my tables too close to each other and it was a bit difficult for guests to get in and out of their seats-- we only realized this when the guests arrived). Cody and Natalie were wonderful, reliable and very accommodating in everyday). They went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly for my baby shower event. Booking the event was hassle free and Cody was able to work with me via email to answer all my questions and concerns; and got back to me quickly. Although we fit about 80 people, not everyone had a seat though. The kids were able to fit by a window bench/seating area. Initially, my guest list was about 100 people and I was informed that there wouldn't be 80 chairs and that they were able to provide 50-60. about 80 showed up and sure enough, Cody and Natalie was able to provide what they stated they would and even more (about 70ish chairs). The chairs were a mix of office style chairs and folding chairs. For the baby shower, my husband and I didn't really mind the office chairs; however they were a bit bulky and if all the chairs were folding chairs, it could've saved a lot of space for the place. There was a second floor where there was a microwave and a mini heater to heat up food; there was no stove top. My family had burners and we did not really utilize the space upstairs. There were a few kittens upstairs ( waiting to be adopted) but they did not bother anyone downstairs because the door was closed. On the day of the event, Cody and Natalie were there to help move things along; and even helped us with moving some hairs from upstairs to downstairs just so we could have a few more extra chairs. For $50/hour, the price and space could not be beat! The style/place is even bigger in person. The colors of the place was earthy: sturdy wooden tables , plants and the lighting was a nice touch on the ladder decor. The ladder was perfect for some of my baby shower decor (see photos). We did not get to use their large screen for this event; however if we do need a big enough space for any other event, we will definitely try to take advantage of that. Their speakers sounded great in the large space as well; however we given an option to bring our own. The only little negative was the garbage bags provided were not large enough to fit their garbage bin... However we were able to make it work with the smaller bags they had. I believe they ran out of the larger black bags. Finally, their weekend flea market is pretty great as well! There were a few vendors selling clothes and jewelry among other things. The taco place next door is a plus. read more

Prompt with replies. Helpful! Second the space is awesome. I had a Caribbean theme and I was able to fit 50 people plus a band. They had a cute outdoor space where I was able to put the food. First of all Natalie is great, she could accommodate visits and she was flexible to allow us to store stuff before and after our event, compatibly with other events schedule. The place is very good for small events (my wedding was 60 people), we were able to get a catering company that provided awesome food and we purchased the alcohol for everyone without spending a fortune, as opposed to the most typical wedding venues that force you to use their vendors and overcharge you for everything. We setup a bar and the catering was able to cook upstairs, away from everyone's sight. By investing in some decorations on Amazon we could create a pretty nice environment and the neighborhood is really cool, especially for pictures or afterparty. The weather was bad so we couldn't really use the backyard but overall people had a lot of fun. read more

From beginning to end, Natalie, the owner made the experience so easy that I knew I would just have to leave her the best review as soon as possible. Amazing space, amazing space coordinator! We had a post-elopement party here for about 100 people, and it was everything we hoped it would be and more! The space is quite large, but the string lights make it warm and cozy feeling. An amazing blank canvas, and Natalie helped us every step of the way with planning and support. Great for co-working and events! Discovered it through Drink+Draw. It's a quiet (charmingly lit) office-type space during the day, with conference rooms for taking calls or having meetings. Cute yard in the back for lunch or calls, and great events some nights (and apparently weekends, too?) I go to Drink+Draw every weds night, and launched my small business out of this space before I had an office location. Super nice staff. read more

My fiance and I were searching for a venue for our wedding "reception." But we weren't really thinking of it as a reception, more of a party, bash, celebration. I came across Bat Haus online, and was excited because it is a block away from my apartment. We were, honestly, a little unsure when we saw the space, because although it has a great vibe and energy for a party, we were not sure if it was a little too raw for our celebration. But then we met Natalie, and we were hooked. Natalie was so incredibly helpful, professional, reasonable, friendly and easy going that we simply felt Bat Haus had to the place. She helped us every step of the way. She was always happy to let us stop by when we needed to take measurements, show the lighting people what it looked like, let the caterers see it, the band, etc. When I got stressed out, Natalie always made me feel like everything was gong to work out. And it did! We had a wonderful, memorable party! The space transformed beautifully, and with the garden and open front doors, it felt breezy and not cramped, even though we had about 130 people! I can't recommend Bat Haus enough! It was a perfect venue for us because Natalie gave us the freedom to follow our vision and the support we needed to make it happen! We used Bat Haus as a venue for our wedding, which approximately 100 guests attended. As far as inexpensive spaces, you won't find a better deal in Brooklyn! The location right next to the L train in Bushwick made it really easy for our guests to get there, and parking on Starr street is plentiful. Bat Haus's owner, Natalie, was also hugely helpful in planning our event and lending an extra hand during set-up and clean-up. She was extremely accommodating to our needs, and graciously allowed us to visit the space multiple times before our event for planning purposes. The space is also furnished with several long tables and a few dozen chairs, which cuts down on the cost of rentals. If you're looking to plan an affordable wedding in New York--something that many others told us was impossible--you should book the Bat Haus! You can really make the space your own, and with 100 guests it didn't feel too crowded at all. The space also has an outdoor area, which was great, and is air conditioned. Although on a summer day when the temperature was in the high 70s, the space stayed very cool and we didn't need the AC. read more

This place is gem! It's close to the city, the space is great, and the backyard area is a huge added bonus (there's also a grill out there where we were able to keep much of our food warm!). My husband and I rented this space for an intimate wedding party, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to host it in. Natalie is also a real pleasure to work with -- she's responsive, friendly and extremely helpful. By the time we got to Bat Haus to start setting up for our event, she had already cleared the main area for us, saving us some much needed set-up time. When looking at other potential spaces, we kept getting met by owners with an endless list of stipulations when renting, but Natalie did a great job at making us feel truly comfortable in hosting our event the way we wished. All in all, we're extremely happy with how everything turned out, and will definitely think of Bat Haus should we ever need to rent a space again. Thank you Natalie! read more

We came here for a kid's birthday/Halloween party and the space here is pretty decent. Good lighting and the large windows help bring in extra light naturally. There is a small outdoor space out back. Not much you could do with that space other than smoke and mingle. The interior space is quite long. think of the entire space as one big rectangle. The only thing I disliked about coming here was the neighborhood and it's parking. Parking was difficult and the people in the neighborhood were jerks towards us when we went back to our car. It was pouring rain and some guy double parked his car an inch away from my driver side door. I couldn't enter and I also had a baby to bring into the car. I honked until the driver came back to his car only to find myself in a huge argument with this moron in the rain who believed he had the right to double park and block my driver side.
