I really enjoyed our visit to bass pro.at checkout Ghana was incredibly helpful, she informed us on a promotion they had this wasn't widely known and asked if we wanted to go Back and add more! We originally came for binoculars and left with everything else, from clearance rain coats, to dog toys, to a hunting scope. 2-3 employees we worked with were incredible, including Ghana at the check out, and the gentleman in the archery/optics section. We however did not enjoy the man at the credit card booth who was rude when I said we were all set. He pushed the envelope further and my sister even told him my dad had the card (he was present) and the ma did not relent. I love this place! Whenever I shop here, I spend way more money than I should, but the quality is unsurpassed! My favorite casual pants were purchased here, three pairs of them! This is simply just a fun store to wander around in. Walking through their fishing area made me wish I was regular fisherman! The selection is by far the largest I've ever seen outside of LL Bean. On the upper level, they used to have a nice little snack bar type of eatery, but sadly during my most recent visit, I discovered they had closed it down. Their prices are somewhat pricy, similar to LL Bean, but the quality, as I said, is virtually unsurpassed and on par with LL Bean. I like to wait for sales to get the best deal. There is an enormous amount of parking, since this is located at Patriots Place. If you get hungry, there are tons of restaurants of all types and cuisines located at the other end of the Shopping a center. read more

they had some good value clothes. they have some jingoistic clothes that are not helpful and encourage poor public discourse (and several are outside of US flag regulations, but if you are patriotic and hypocritical, who cares?). They have religious themed or religious annotated candy. They offer deep discounts if you get their credit card. The folks were friendly but all white males. I was just in the shoe section at foxboro bass pro shops. The xtra tuff boat shoes said 104 the women working said you have to pay 140. We told her the price is marked 104 she then changed the price right in front of us. Terrible service! I also beleive its against the law! It also says best price guaranteed on a bunch of signs around the store. Seems thats a false statement. If you want to buy a couple surf kit fishing rod set ups and bait, DO NOT TRUST the NON-Fishing sales staff advice. One would think the kits marked "Surf" fishing would work with kit sold together, correct 3oz weight, etc, but unfortunately each time we rigged up with the same gear sold together in the kit by Bass Pro Shop and recommended by the staff, the line broke bc the test was too low for the same kit. Obviously these people were NOT hired for their fishing knowledge, only their diversity. read more

We use love visiting this store. Especially being an avid outdoorsman. We live an hour and a half away and we use to make a day out of it. Shop and eat at the Bluefin restaurant. But since the restaurant is permanently closed (it closed before covid) its not worth our while and fuel to shop there anymore. Sadly, it looks like we will be doing the dreaded online shop now. It's the Same thing at Cabelas in East Harrford also. In my own personal opinion. It's a big mistake to close the restaurants read more

A fun place to visit, even if you don't need anything in particular you can easily kill some time walking around, and watch the turtles! We must've stood there for 20 minutes watching the turtles on the log under the lamps! Slipping and sliding off, crawling all over each other and then trying to regain their spot on the log! Probably the biggest Bass Pro Store I've been to. Two levels of tons of gear, including boats, off road vehicles, camping gear, clothes, and of course tons of fishing gear. There's also a huge fish tank as well which was pretty cool. The clothes and shoes and some gear is on the first floor. The stairs to the lower level is in the middle of the store and you can see what's on the lower level from above which is nice. Fishing gear for days on the lower level. I was here to buy some outdoor gear but it looked like they had every and any fishing rod that you might need. From starter fishing kits to the professional rods and all of the accessories as well. Reels, hooks, weights, etc. The outdoor section was pretty small but they had all of the basics, tents, chairs, sleeping bags, hammocks, outdoor cooking gear, etc. Great store and location for anybody that needs fishing gear. We very much enjoy visiting this store. Although I am not even remotely interested in hunting or fishing, this store has a fun, unique ambiance to it. I especially enjoy the aquariums and waterfalls. It's a nice place to be able to bring one's dogs, as the store is pet-friendly. It's also an excellent place for people to work on training with service or therapy dogs, as they'll encounter a number of different situations in one place. I take a group of our dogs for the annual Santa photos, and it's always been a fun experience! Their Santa is very friendly and realistic, and the store is so nicely decorated for the holidays! There is a nice crackling fire and seating area near the front, and several Christmas trees, including one huge one to take pictures by. My only suggestions would be to add a more extensive selection of pet supplies (perhaps focusing on travel and outdoor products for dogs, check cords, dog life jackets, etc.) Also, if the store could make one embankment/landscaped island in the parking lot covered with pea gravel or crushed stone instead of mulch, this would be a much better "restroom area" for people bringing their dogs in. I don't like to walk my dogs on mulch, as it can contain toxins, and it's messy to clean up. read more

Took off the minion shirts myself and my wife hand made earlier in the day, placing them along with our giveaway items from the event. We parked our carriage with its belonging and ours in the carriage parking area at the Blue Fin Lounge as we have done before. We enjoy lunch and come pack to find the carriage tossed around, our 1 mug, 1 trick or treat bag, and Caylyn's (on the right) shirt GONE! Some dirtbag looser ruined our daughters day! Literally picked up a full setup for their child and took off! I ask the girl at the host stand "o sorry" and she walks away! I go to front desk girl asks security. Guy comes out (missed his name) "yeah the cameras are aimed the the photo area can't see that spot, leave your name it turns up we'll call ya" then walks off saying no more starting a conversation with someone else!!!! WE ARE ABSOLUTELY IRATE AND DISGUSTED WITH THIS!! I get it park your carriage at your own risk and so on... But to brush off someone who's personal property was stolen like I lost the days newspaper after a 3 1/2 year olds costume and day went up in smoke and ruined is disgusting. You know maybe a we can look at the photo area during the hour you went in the lounge, make an announcement, anything... nope. Not a single thing! So utterly heartbreaking disgusting day too to bottom. We then left before trick or treating in the store seeing only 1 had a costume. Just pathetic... no effort to help what so ever. I'm sorry someone wasn't stealing a boat or fishing rod but damnit my daughter was devastated and beyond confused to what happened. A dog had urinated on the floor and no one cleaned it up for at least 20 minutes. Customers were walking through it. They had called for someone to clean it but did not block off the area in the mean time. Also I ordered an ATV for my husband left a deposit and then was notified 3 days later they couldn't order one. I had to call to be reimbursed the deposit to my credit card. read more

I recently purchased a $200 rod here. I asked if they could put the new line on my new rod. I asked specifically if it was the correct line for the rod and was told by an employee that it was and it was all set. After purchasing everything I left and attempted to go fishing. Whenever I cast the line it gets all tangled up. I tried to fix it by getting it wet and rewiring the line. No luck. I call bass pro shops in hopes to get some type of assistance and refund, I was told no they can't give me my money back but I can drive 4 hours to bass pro shops for them to do it all over again. Yes, you dont go there to browse for something you might want. You go there because you want fishing stuff. or hunting stuff. or guns. Or archery. or camo, or what not But the selection n everything is huge, from side arms and fishing poles to ice fishing huts. If you are an outdoorsman, avid or amateur, you HAVE to go there. And to make it all great, do to their sizes, prices cant be beat! I have purchased several things there, and pricing is always about 30-40% less than other places. (yes, some might say that big box stores kill small local shops - well, the small locals have to adapt then. Compete with service or what not - but we wont get into THAT argument now. Since I am pro-big box!) anyways... The other great thing? In house brands. Even cheaper than the name brand stuff. Shotgun padded case with shoulder strap for $15? sure! Stink bait and fake worms for fishing for $.99. awesome! Hand warmers for the Pats game, only $1.25 - great! We trek to out to Bass Pro Shops once a year to take a picture with Santa. The kids love it, my husband and I love it. Only the Grinch wouldn't love this place. There are enormous fish tanks, at least as big as the ones in the aquarium in Boston. While waiting to see Santa my girls did crafts & played with Lincoln Logs. After they jumped in a ball pit & played some shooting games (not the kind of thing we have at home but it fits the atmosphere here). The photo is free. Santa is delightful. When you first enter it immediately has that outdoor vibe and decor, wood, stuffed wild life, large water fountain and everything you would need to purchase for outdoor activities. They have an area where the kids can shoot targets, a large fish tank, and an outdoor path you can walk. They have a few boats you can climb on to experience, which were so lovely. This place is fun - fun - fun. It's the best around the holidays seasons. They do a great job with details. We went last week and it was like a winter wonder land. The amount of attention they give to decor and design - obviously someone has a good eye. They have different stations setup to entertain the kids. You can easily spend an entire day here - their prices??? You have to check and compare - especially their clothing. I haven't eaten at their restaurant yet - but looking forward to it. read more

There's a lot to like about this store...and a lot that irks me also. First, I'm an avid fisherman, I love to "stock up" on fishing supplies before the open-water season starts in the Spring. Bass Pro Shops is one of the places I like to shop. They have a great selection of fishing gear, but unfortunately, they do not ever totally satisfy my fishing needs. I still dropped over $350 bucks there today though. Store was super crowded with a lot of people who obviously were not into fishing or the outdoors (Sunday, 1st weekend of March). The problem was it was so crowded, it made walking up and down the aisles an adventure. People even had their dogs with them, I saw one canine drinking out of the trout pond. Hey, I guess it's like the place to go in the winter when the zoo is too cold to walk around. The "sales staff" wasn't much better. Most were standing around BS'ing with each other. I did find one gentleman who brought me to a specific rod I was looking for. So I can't say that all the staff at BPS are knuckleheads, but a lot of them seem to be. Also, they were out of stock of a few items I was looking for. But like I said above, BPS never seems to satisfy all my fishing needs, I end up getting everything else at Cabela's or LandBigFish.com I am looking forward to the new BPS opening in Bridgeport, CT sometime next year.
