I never thought I'd see the day when I'd give 5 stars to a Baskin Robbins, especially during a seemingly endless dry spell that involves unfortunate encounters with employees of other businesses treating me like an indentured servant or some random fly on the wall. However, this one employee at the Baskin Robbins on the northern corner of Palo Verde and Los Coyotes knows the true meaning of customer service, and I really wish we had more of him and fewer of those previously mentioned rude workers. His name starts with a K and ends with yrie. I had a Free Welcome Scoop reward on my Baskin Robbins account after I downloaded the Baskin Robbins app either late last year or early this year. It was set to expire in a few days, and I was actually at a different Baskin Robbins location trying to redeem that Free Welcome Scoop reward only to be told their owner nixed the redemption of such rewards at their location. Why?! Not very welcoming if you ask me. As I alluded to before, I wasn't having a good month, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise as I noticed there was this location close by, and it wasn't too far out of the way. Stepping into the ice cream shop immediately evoked memories of my visit to Taty's in Westminster as both are located in plazas that look like they've seen better days. However, the interior was more lively and upkept with about 5 tables by the window for customers to enjoy their sweet treats. Kyrie was one of three employees working behind the ice cream chests compared to just one at the first location I went to. It was fairly busy when I went, but he was ready to serve me as I was walking down the line of ice cream chests perusing the flavors they had. I first asked if this location would honor the Welcome Scoop, which resulted in an affirmative answer. I've been keeping a watchful eye on my sugar intake, and I vaguely recalled seeing a flavor that said No Sugar Added, which I didn't see at the first BR I went to. I simply told him I was interested in the No Sugar Added flavor, and he immediately knew I was referring to the Caramel Turtle Truffle. I wasn't exactly sure what it was, especially with a reptile in the name lol, so I asked him. Instead of describing, he offered a sample on a small pink spoon! After tasting that sample, I was immediately sold on that flavor for my Welcome Scoop. He went and got it for me in a small cup. After scanning my QR code for the Welcome Scoop, I headed to the table on the far side of the shop to enjoy my scoop. The Caramel Turtle Truffle was quite sweet to the point where I wouldn't have known it was No Sugar Added. I would have simply guessed it was reduced fat only as it wasn't as heavy as what I'd imagine the other flavors would be. If you want a sweet treat that's flavorful, but not too sweet, this is a good solid choice. The BR website mentions another flavor that comes with No Sugar Added, but I didn't see that other flavor on this trip. I guess I'll have to visit another location to give that one a try. Pricewise, this location seems more consumer-friendly. A single scoop, believe it or not, was over $1 less than that *other* BR. Not only that, but when I scanned my QR code at the register, I noticed a sign that said on a rainy day, you can get a 2-scoop sundae for 99 cents with purchase of another at regular price. As sweet of a deal that is, I think that'd be way too sweet for me, especially in one sitting, but it's great to know if you're craving a sundae, and it just so happens to be raining that day. I'm also a firm believer that good service makes food taste better, and this was a good example of that. Kyrie's stellar service really impressed me enough that even though my interaction with him was pretty brief, I wish Baskin Robbins corporate headquarters would take the time to realize what a true asset he is to the company. If he continues to serve customers the way he served me as well as the family who stepped in shortly before my departure, I can foresee a bright future ahead of him. But for now, 5 stars will do. Good service and good ice cream. There is some seating inside but not a ton. I love all the choices of ice cream offered. Prices are steep but what isn't these day. Only comment is that the workers could improve on making sure tables inside are clean considering there aren't that many too keep track of. read more

I just can't believe I am writing a bad review on this place that I have been coming for many years but what I just experienced last night literally ruined my enjoyment of this place! Yesterday 09/27/24 around 8:25pm I went with my husband to buy ice cream. We ordered a double scoop (cookies n cream and strawberry cheesecake), one single scoop (strawberry cheesecake) but the guy got confused and got me cookies n cream so I decided to keep that one and still get another single scoop of strawberry cheesecake, and I try a new flavor ( not new for the store but new for me since I usually get the same flavors every time) , I honestly can't remember the flavor but is not listed on the flavors online. So anyway, I decided to get that flavor because it tasted good and also had cashews. Got home and sat down on the couch and started eating and enjoying my ice cream and on the last scoop I was able to eat (I had plenty of ice cream left but after what happened I couldn't eat anymore) I left something hard in my mouth and I spit it out and it was a FREAKING ACRYLIC NAIL! Yes you read that right! I was so grossed out by that, that I immediately went to the bathroom to throw up! I was livid for what I just experienced. My husband immediately called the store and there was no manager onsite, and the employee that answered the phone said the manager was going to be there on Sunday! The employee offered a free ice cream in replace ( let's be honest, that is not the point and a free ice cream wont make it right) plus who is going to eat another ice cream after what I just had experience??? It should be mandatory for all employees to wear gloves when handling food to prevent this! I still so disgusted! read more

How can anyone rate an ice cream shop staffed by a bunch of teenage kids trying to make a honest buck, anything less than 5 stars! Every time I come here, the servers are polite. But most importantly, their freezers are supper cold. So the ice cream cones taste perfect. I've been to other Baskin Robbins in the neighborhood where for whatever reason, the temps on the freezers must be turned down & the ice cream is kind of a soft serve. Hello TOM of Los Coyotes Baskin Robbins, I would like to file a complaint.. first I would like to mention that my family and I are avid baskin Robbins b-day cake lovers and have made it a tradition to buy bday cakes for everyone's bday. As I received horrible service at the Ximeno location I decided to Yelp the next nearest location and it was your location. I noticed that your store closing time was 10pm, so I decided to gave your store a call at 9:47. No one picks up. I called once again at 9:48 and no one picks up again. I was in desperate need of a bday cake for my older brother so I took a chance and went to your store directly. When I got there I noticed there were 3 workers Jennah, Khyrie and a Caucasian girl (couldn't see her tag), who gave me this look like they did not want me to be there. I picked up a Mint chip cake and handed it to them to write "Happy Birthday Brother," the Caucasian girl takes it and starts the process. I was curious as to why my call was not picked up so I made another call while in the store at 9:55pm, I hear the phone ring and no one picks it up. At that point I understand why. As the air becomes more uncomfortable, Jennah then rushes over to finish the writing on the cake. I then received the cake back and noticed that a part of the message was not written on the cake. It was only "Happy Birthday." I was furious at the point because they miss a key part of the cake and it was for my brother. I left in a hurry and told them I'm filing a complaint. I'm no longer sure if I would support baskin Robbins anymore. Please train your workers properly so we don't have issues like this in the future. read more

This is a standard BR outlet. They offer scoops in cups/cones and a variety of shakes, sundaes etc. Their frozen cases also offer pre-made cakes and novelties that you can take home, as well as pre-packed quarts. *IMO though, the pre-packed quarts taste different. I'm not 100% sure, but to me it seems the pre-packaged ice cream is less dense, meaning they pump more air into the product thereby leaving it below "super premium" standards. Just my theory, but if I need a quart I'll get it packed on the spot (which if I remember correctly also costs more than the pre-packed stuff). I really enjoy BR ice cream. They have a good variety of flavors and always have the flavors I grew up with. Ask any employee for a sample and they'll gladly let you try anything you choose. Additionally, the scooped ice cream is heavy and dense and scoops are usually nicely hard frozen (I don't enjoy soft scooped ice cream). They offer smaller/cheaper kids scoops and regular sized scoops. The staff here has always been very friendly and they don't skimp on the scoop size (Cerritos location, I'm looking at you). If you save your receipt and answer their online survey, you can get $1 off any $4 purchase on a future visit. Bottom line, BR is great and my family and I always enjoy coming here to pick up some tasty ice cream. Get my chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip ready - we'll be back soon! read more

Went for a visit this past Saturday for my ice cream fix. Was greeted kindly by the workers, and they gave me a sample of the seasonal pumpkin flavor. But I stuck with my usual scoop, pecan pralines, delicious as always. I was helped by a girl with dark black hair in a clip, and another with a curly bun-- both very polite and did not hesitate to offer samples. Ice cream costs 7 bucks for 2 scoop sundae and I really don't think it was a full 5oz. So with 2 people you're looking at $15 and change which isn't a value and the ice cream is just sort of ok. Stick to the freezer or just go the Vons in the same parking lot. It's hard to be disappointed with ice cream but, this place figured out how to. The extra star is for the staff. Baskin Robbins never gets old. My daughter loves going here, but this place always smells like sewage. The tables are always dirty, each time we go their is around 2-4 employees looking lost waiting for people to come in. Management should be more attentive to the cleanliness of the store. read more

The last time I visited it was just the same with an older gentleman helping us that was hilarious. This location has been around for a very very long time, my mother's first husband worked here as teenager, so I am thinking about 40 + years or so. Amanda helped me and got my ice cream, and I was really excited to eat it- until her shitty attitude ruined it. It took a minute to get her attention as she was glued to her phone, but when I did I wish I hadn't. Her tone was bleak and gloomy, not at all what I would expect from a Baskin Robbins employee. Same features as all BR locations. The people that work here are ULTRA friendly - like the kill you with kindness types. There is water on the counter with cups (thank you) and they yell out hello and good bye when you come in and when you leave. If you have to wait in line more than a minute, they take time to tell you that they will be right with you, and they are fine with you trying two or three different kinds of ice cream before you make your decision. This has got to be my favorite BR of all times. Its the one from my childhood. It's next to a Joann Fabrics. Next to a gas station and dry cleaner. Next to a Duh-Dive Bar. Next to a gift shop that makes the Long Beach Best's list every year. And no one knows it's here but me and a few other locals. There is parking "up in here." And that is usually the killer in all things BR. I've seen shops with demolition derby parking lots and the insurance claim forms flash before my eyes when I even consider a visit. I've been a patron of this particular Baskin Robbins for years. So, I've seen its highs and lows. But, mostly what I've seen lately is higher prices, smaller scoop size, and subpar service. The girls that work here seem sorta unhappy to be there and can, at times, be a little rude. I know high school service jobs suck. But, you could fake smile. Most times I always tip, rarely do the girls say thank you, even as they see me slipping money into the box. For instance. I heard one of the girls last night say, "is that all" to another customer. There's just ways to talk to people and ways not to. That's one way not to. Also, their scoop sizes are inconsistent. Sometimes I get a packing two scoop cup and other times there's not much in it. And for what Baskin Robbins is charging these days, that's just wrong. With competition like Yougurtland around, this stores employees and management need to take note and make some changes. Customer service is good, but this tiny, 1970-style location is in serious need of a makeover. The layout makes for a very awkward and inefficient order & pickup process. Love coming to this Baskin Robbins. The young ladies are all so very nice and helpful. Even when it gets super busy, they remain cheerful and work quickly. This store has an awesome staff! Whenever I call to place an order, they are attentive, helpful, and courteous . Last night they closed early because of the curfew order that came down because of the rioting in Long Beach. At 7, I got a call from the manager or owner that he came back to the store so I could get the ice cream cake I had ordered for my sons birthday!
