Went on a Friday night with a reservation. We were seated in a timely manner and our server was quick and attentive. A noticeable difference from what is sometimes a much slower service. I ordered the chicken piccata and I think with any really sauce heavy dish, angel hair can be a gamble because the temperature of the sauce combined with the weight of the sauce I feel can sometimes cause such a thin pasta to get too soft? Same for the light breading on the chicken, it gets a little soft and everything feels quite one note but I recognize that this is a preferable outcome for some! (Read Bon Appetites article on the phenomenon "Crispy Gone Soggy") The flavor was good overall, it was lemony and tangy, perfect level of salt, the sauce wasn't too thick or thin. I think for me the pasta was a hair too soft and the chicken, while moist and perfectly cooked, had absorbed more sauce than preferable, causing it to lose any textural difference it might have had prior to reaching the table. From recommendations to desserts, we told her our picks and she steered us right into these - 1. Phenomenal! We got take out from here & let me tell you it did not disappoint. My husband devoured the Chicken Bruschetta instantly. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and was craving the viral best Caesar salad wrap in Charlotte! However, the craving hit me on a Sunday, when the wrap is only available lunch time thru Saturday. That don't stop us for getting our Caesar fix! Our First dine in experience! I did take out here a while ago. But it was one of those days that I skipped a review in my experience since I was just hangry. Lol. I've been meaning to bring the husband here for dinner. So we made plans to dine here Friday night. I made reservations to be safe. Since I saw when I picked up the food that one time. It was packed! I was surprised when we went to check in with the host that it wasn't too crowded and the bar was somewhat empty. So we just sat at the bar. Which was great. We got a great view of the bar and the restaurant set up. Our bartender was great and friendly. I had a glass of wine and my husband had Miller lite. .We started with the rice ball. And wow it was big! A prefect start to dinner. I had the flavorful pesto pasta and I added a meatball. Super yum! I had to take half of it home. My husband loves fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. He was impressed! He finished it all! Also it was nice that the pasta came with a side. I chose a side salad. Super fresh! And the prefect size l! My husband would have liked more of their Caesar dressing for his salad but overall it was good. They do have home made desserts here if that's your thing. Made reservations a couple hours before visiting Basilico on a recent Friday night. They were very busy, I will note, and I was thankful for the rez. However, I wish that our table was not at the very front of the restaurant right in front of the host/hostess stand because the area surrounding the host stand is practically nonexistent so any waiting customers are basically standing at your table. This friday night they had a live performer singing and playing guitar so if that's not your thing, avoid Friday nights. We placed a calamari order for our appetizer but I don't recommend you doing so. The calamari was so chewy and barely any seasoning detected on the batter. The complementary garlic knots were welcome but they barely had any garlic seasoning! I ordered the bruschetta chicken - which does not come with any noodles or sides - and my bf ordered the chicken piccata. He was disappointed that the piccata was so soupy but said it was edible. My bruschetta chicken was delicious and I didn't even miss the noodles. They should add some balsamic glaze to really set it off. read more

I came here for the first time on a Sunday in May trying to get their Caesar Chicken Wrap but found out they only serve it at lunch Tuesday-Saturday. I came back that Tuesday after placing and order over the phone. Their parking lot no matter what day of the week is always jam packed. But when I went in to get my order there literally was no one in there. The hostess said it's due to the doctor's offices in the same shopping center. The wrap was the delicious but the fries didn't hold up well for me. The house-made Caesar is so good and doesn't contain eggs. I went back a month later to get it again. This time I placed it online & got to see the many side options they have and joined their rewards program. We arrived around 8 PM on a beautiful Wednesday evening, excited to finally try this place after seeing it on TikTok. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match the hype. After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes without any acknowledgment from a server. The waiter assigned to our area (Troy) completely overlooked us, despite actively serving the table right next to us. I eventually had to get up and ask for assistance, letting two staff members know we had been waiting. They apologized, and someone who appeared to be part of the kitchen staff stepped in to help. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our meals all at once to try to move things along. While the food itself was fair, the service continued to fall short. Complimentary bread that other tables received early on didn't arrive at our table until we were nearly finished eating. One of our side dishes was forgotten entirely, and our drinks sat empty for long periods. What stood out most was the inconsistency in service. A waitress named Rachel was attentive, friendly, and clearly on top of her tables--I actually had to ask her for refills since our server was absent. It's disappointing because we intentionally chose this restaurant for a nice evening out, especially on such a perfect 84-degree night. If you love authentic Italian then you must try Basilico-Italiano. I chose to go on a Sunday for lunch to try their homemade lasagna. It is made on Sundays only. Appetizers are also half price from 12-4 on Sundays. My 6 year old can make a meal of meatballs, so we started with the large order of baked meatballs. When they arrived I could not believe they were the size of baseballs and beyond exceptional. Probably the best meatballs I have had at a restaurant in Charlotte. Our server, Michael paced the arrival of our plates perfectly and was attentive. The restaurant itself was cozy and reminded me of the Italian restaurants were have been to in NY. My Mom and I chose to share a small order of bruschetta and a small harvest salad. Both were fantastic! Finally we all split a small order of lasagna. While the food is usually good, if you get takeout, expect to wait beyond their expected ready time. Pad on AT LEAST 20-30 minutes to their estimated time. I've never placed a takeout order that was on time. Also, most times the order was wrong (Missing items, completely wrong items like chicken instead of veal). My advice is to pad your arrival time by 20-30 minutes and then check your order before you leave. Otherwise, when the order is correct, the food is good. read more

"Cozy, warm, and inviting" could not be FURTHER from the truth! Came here for lunch on Saturday. Upon entering we were greeted with "do you have a reservation", no we did not. The host proceeded to say he would need to ask if we could sit down (with multiple empty tables in the dining room). We then asked if we could sit at the bar, (with multiple empty bar stools at the bar) which he would also have to check on. What?! It's the bar! We were (after a few minutes of discussion between staff members) then granted permission to sit at the bar. Upon sitting down the bartender informed us that "if we order food, it would be a while due to the kitchen being backed up with in house orders and go to orders". We went ahead and ordered the lunch specials (which should be quicker, because they're the specials, right?!). While we waited for our food we watched the entire staff do nothing, essentially. We observed the host turn customers away, with empty tables. Watched the host play on his phone, rather than roll silverware, which was by the door balanced in a high chair. Observed the dining room be left unattended, no staff in sight for multiple stents of time. Saw the bartender turn customers away from sitting at the bar. Observed the bus boy walk from dirty table to dirty table without ever cleaning them. Never saw one to go order be picked up, or placed at the bar, nor the front. The garlic knots were in a tub at the other end of the bar, the cook would come out to get them, cook them, and send them out to tables. Our food finally came out, but everything wasn't hot. The wraps came out lukewarm chicken, and our sides were cold. When the bartender eventually came back to check on us I immediately asked for the check. This was by far the craziest experience I've ever had. I've never been to a restaurant where they actively turn customers away! We will never return. read more

It was a beautiful night. The restaurant was busy & lively with musicians playing. Our drink order was taken right away & garlic knots brought to the table. The sauce for the knots was very good. A slight delay on straws, but no big deal. I ordered the Cavatappi & Sausage with a wedge salad & my daughter ordered the Ziti in vodka sauce with fries. The wedge salad was very good topped with bacon & onion. Both main dishes were very good. We did not get the fries until after we were done eating & got another basket of knots. The fries were really good too. Due to the issues & delay we got a dessert on the house: tiramisu. It was amazing. Overall a solid place for a nice meal. Staff was friendly. We eat at this restaurant regularly. I forget to take a picture every time! The service is always excellent. We come with our kids and they're always so accommodating. The atmosphere isn't super kid friendly with the dark lights vibe but nevertheless they're always open for us bringing the toddlers! It's always packed when we go. We get pretty much the same time every time we go and it never fails. The garlic knots are delicious. Chicken parm is a classic. Chicken bacon Alfredo is so good, in fact I just finished my leftovers from last night which prompted my reminder for this review ;) the kids Alfredo my kids eat every time, which is saying a lot for two picky toddlers. I love the portion sizes for the cost, it's really worth it! The pizzas are great too, there are so many options. I've gotten the salmon before which is what I usually get because it's sooo flavorful and well cooked, but most recently I got the vodka pasta and it was fantastic.
