Typical Bashas' location. Staff appeared friendly, it was clean and the shelves were well stocked. Basha's definitely isn't the cheapest grocery store in the area, but it's less crowded than a Fry's or Target. One thing to note is that the store is very dark inside. read more

I usually don't go to Basha's for my refills since they don't have a drive-thru, but after the outstanding service I received from this team, I'll be transferring my prescriptions from Fry's right away. Came here to order pizzas and cash some lottery tickets. Our pizzas were not even in the oven 25 minutes later, after being told they would be ready in 15. The guy at the front wouldn't cash any lottery tickets over $100 total... Why sell lottos if you can't cash them? How is this place even still in business with this kind of sub par service? Every time I come here, I have to ask myself "why?" I like the barbecue place in the strip mall and at times after lunch just wanna pop in and get a few kitchen staples. Somehow, they managed to have virtually nothing in stock, and no one available to answer any questions. For example, we drink fairlife milk; and a recent visit this week they had absolutely none in the case. I want to ask the customer service desk, but there was nobody there. I am at a total loss of how this location stays in business. Seems that they often are out of stock and items, and there is no help to be found to answer any questions. I requested a specially decorated cake for my daughters cake smash first birthday. I originally talked to one older lady who wrote down my order but told me to come back to talk to the decorator for custom design. I mentioned to her I wanted red on the bottom. I then came back following day and spoke to the decorator and showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She said no problem and was very helpful. I picked up the cake (very quick service) and it was pink instead. It was still so adorable that I didn't even mind the color change. It was a hot pink and the exact swirly design I asked for. I really like shopping here in so many ways. I love the selection, quality and the layout of products. Cashiers are very friendly. It's usually pretty empty even on the weekends which is nice. The Walmart near me is always a zoo even during the weekdays. My only complaint is the deli. I've dealt with a few girls in the deli that all have major attitudes. They act like it's a problem to serve you and they don't smile or say "thank you" or "have a nice day." I went there a few days ago to get 4 fried chicken legs. The girl said that she only had two. Great local grocery store! Pharmacy is extremely good, always double checking on allergy interactions and keep us notified and on top of refills. Grocery store is organized and clean, butcher is excellent and always willing to help with special cuts. Deli counter has excellent variety, and bakery ALWAYS comes through in a pinch with great cakes at the last minute. Produce is fresh and there is a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Definitely recommend this store, excellent staff in every department and management always willing to do special orders. read more

I just visited Bashas to do some grocery shopping. I bought $50 in gift cards and was supposed to get a free Bashas gift card for $50. When I went to the manager and told him that I didn't get the $50 free gift card he said that it had to be done in one transaction and I couldn't get the gift card. I feel like if I had left the store they may not have wanted to honor it but I had not left the store and had just paid for my groceries. The employees are super friendly, and will recognize you (I used to go in A LOT), the produce area had a great guy working there who is always willing to help. But, now its seems like if I need a quick run to the store for the forgotten ingredient, I will go to the further store from my house because I don't want an expiration problem. *** Lately, this location has slacked on expired or rotten foods being out. First off, I go to the deli/chinese food hot area and was ignored whilst I looked to see what I wanted. The person behind the counter was slouched down reading something After seeing the prices are a lot more than Safeway or you average grocery store. Going down the candy isle made it easy to not be tempted since the stench of the meat/seafood dept was wafting down towards the front of the store. Produce quality was ok but prices not clearly marked and when they were the prices were too high. I always remember prices when I get up to pay. I bought two of the exact same thing at a reduced price. 1 came up the proper sale price and the other the regular overprice amount. The brick oven pizza is actually really good. I ordered one on the recommendation of a new neighbor and I wasn't disappointed. Fair price too. Nice bakery as well. Just hang a big sign on the door saying "WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS!!!" Attempted to make quick trip for a few items last night (about 7:30pm). The store is apparently in the process of getting remodeled. The lights in the parking lot were dimmed, and there were not lights on at either opening of the store. One of the doors was even blocked with shopping baskets. At first I thought perhaps the store wasn't even open, but I proceeded to go inside. The whole store is in disarray due to the remodel; however, what worse part was the customer service!! The cashiers both had the chain across their isles which forced me to have to use the self-service (which I hate because invariably something doesn't ring through). The clerk that was supposed to be supporting self-serve kept walking away, which meant all 3 times that the scanner failed I had to wait for her to return. The 3rd time it happened, so was standing over at a regular checkout sorting something, and I am pretty sure she knew I needed assistance. I finally called out to one of the young men (shopping cart boy) and asked how I could get some service. He came over to reset the scanner and proceeded to get called out for "standing around" by the woman who SHOULD have been helping me. Very frustrating. If you don't want business while you remodel, then close up shop! Don't treat the few customers you have left this poorly. Bashas is NOT competively priced at all, so it's customer loyalty more than anything that brings people in. It's sad that now that the Eddie is gone that the business and service is quickly going to ruin.... read more

So through the Covid pandemic I periodically go to Bashas at this location early in the morning. In April when lockdown began the older, white haired lady with the grotesquely long fake nails (she is a checkout person) was whining to me about how she could not get her nails done and how unfair that was - you know while we were trying to curb the virus so it would not kill the immune impaired. But she told me her nails were more important to her than anything. I was repulsed by her selfishness and that her nails meant more to her than perhaps infecting someone and then they die. How disgustingly selfish is that? So I have not been there since April and this morning I needed some groceries so I thought maybe Bashsas mgment had put more safety precautions in place however - i begin to shop and at the back of the store I see a man, an employee of Bashas walking down the back aisle NOT WEARING HIS MASK - ( all employees and customers are to wear masks according to the sign on their front door) - he had His dangling around his neck and when he saw me he quickly put it up against his face. It made me angry to see that he did not care about customers safety OR the BASHAS policy even though his is employed by BASHAS. HIS NAME IS DAVID P. So, I finish shopping and get to the register and low and behold, David P is my cashier. His mask is way too big for his face - was not covering his nose and had a wide gap between the mask and his face the entire perimeter of the mask so basically IT WAS PROTECTING NO ONE. What is wrong with these people that they don't care if they infect us???? I asked for the manager who argued with me and said " he's wearing his mask!" and I said, i had worked in the healthcare field - and that is not the correct way to wear a mask. The manager - don't know his name was wearing his mask but he thought it very important to argue with me and protect his employee who may be infecting folks throughout the store. I am disgusted so I told the manager, who doesn't care that I would not be shopping in his store again. I DON'T WANT TO DIE BECAUSE SOME ASSHOLE REFUSEs TO COOPERATE WITH MEDICAL SCIENCE AND MEDICAL RECOMMENDATION. I'd recommend training Cheri on customer service :) when my mother came in today and asked for change and it seemed like we were bothering poor Cheri. My mother asked for something simple, change and certain bills. I understand that you can't promise certain bills, but maybe she should learn to say that :) it instead she told my mother "you're being difficult" and kept trying to give my mom the wrong change and walk away. I was nice every time we asked for the correct change. I only became irate when Cheri decided she was done dealing with us and just walking into the back, while we were still trying to ask her for something. Went to this Basha's (Power and Chandler Heights) for the first time and was having difficult time with online coupon. I do NOT have a smart phone and load my coupons onto my card from home and then go shopping. For whatever reason, it wasn't working on one of my items and the manager was called per my request and was less than helpful. For a generation that is so tech savvy, it would be helpful for stores to understand that not everyone functions that way. I would rather spend more and go to a different store than to return my business to a store who clearly doesn't value the simple things like Not having a smart phone. read more

Here's the deal, I would really like to support Bashas as they are a locally owned AZ supermarket and I like the nostalgic feel of their stores, comparable to Stater Bros (for all you Californian transplants). However, there is one thing that really stands out that is so troubling, that it can't be overlooked. MANY, MANY, MANY items on their shelves are expired...Even on bottled and canned items that typically last long period's of time!! I'm not talking about just by a few days...in some cases, months past the expiration date. This isn't a one-time deal, either. This happens EVERY time I go to Bashas. I even stopped bringing the expired items up to the register because there were so many, plus I feel like the staff just doesn't care (or is in on the conspiracy). Also, the produce is usually cheaper than the other stores, but you often have to sift thru old produce to find that one good fruit or veggie...The old saying of "you get what you pay for" is true here. The only reason I still go to Bashas is that they have some of the more nostalgic (heavens forbid still within date code) items that you can't get at Fry's, Albertsons or Safeway. While my beef (no pun intended) with Bashas is over expired products, my experience isn't all bad. I think Bashas has the best music soundtrack playing thru the PA than any other supermarket. They also make the tastiest donuts, even when compared to the big name donut shops. Watch out for their large pizzas in the bakery...they really are HUGE and you can often score one on sale for only $5 bucks. Bottom line, if you shop at the Bashas on Power Rd in Queen Creek, make sure you check the expiration dates!!! read more

We ran into a problem at the register and waited 5 minutes before someone to check it out at the main computer, not our register. We remained unacknowledged. Then walked up to a now avaliable cashier's register. This lady smugly remarked, "There's a guy over there fixing your problem." We remarked "he just got there and didn't say anything. Okay." I was really hopeful that this would be a great grocery store when I moved into the area, but I was wrong! 1. The staff is non-existent and when you do find them, they don't smile or acknowledge you in any way. 2. The self-pay machine ALWAYS gives me issues 3. The choices of organic and natural foods are ABYSMAL. Unless you want highly processed crap, stay away. 4. They are going through a remodel, so things are spread everywhere and the store is a huge mess right now.
