I had heard that the food was good and the cost was reasonable. I go there with the wife It was kind of different when we walked in didn't see any employees. We did see some guy sitting at a table across from what looked like the kitchen area. They have a bell on the door so it makes noise when the door is opened. So we stood there a few minutes and nobody ever came out to see or greet us. My wife said hello in a louder than normal voice the guy that was playing on his phone told the kitchen that someone was here but by this time there was no way I wanted even take a chance on this place. Nobody at all eating the food at 6 PM I mean not 1 person so I decided we would go eat somewhere else. I wonder if this place is here for another reason instead of serving food. I've been to this restaurant a few times and each time, I am extremely satisfied with the food. I find myself craving their chicken shwarma sandwiches regularly. They very neatly package carryout orders and even when you dine in they make the food look beautiful, specifically the meat hummus. The restaurant is always empty when I dine in, but I like that because you dont typically have to wait very long for service or for food. There was one time I recall having a male server who was not very tentative to us, but the food hit the spot so we didn't mind leaving him a mediocre tip for mediocre service. read more

Food is well seasoned and tastes great, from their American food options to their Middle Eastern specialties. Only issue for me was the chicken was a little dry but the seasoning and flavorful rice made up for it. Will eat there again. read more

The lamb, beef and chicken shawarma are absolutely perfectly roasted and distinctly different in flavor from each other. Incredible. The hummus and garlic sauce has probably too much garlic for most people, but it's always that way at any good Mediterranean restaurant. Delicious as well. The breads were perfectly soft and the rice was subtlety herby and buttery, it truly complimented the entrée. The Fattoush salad was great, everything fresh, oil and herbs, ground peppers and light poppy seed/nutmeg, cucumber, tomato, etc. Service was quite friendly and punctual. We use to like the place well enough and it was local. The last three times their food was not as good. They are doing something different with the garlic sauce. It is far too strong. I like garlic but not when it burns my mouth and throat. The service was the worst part. The screwed up all the orders then got an attitude when told we did order fries. Horrible place , I'm middle eastern and I know about middle eastern food ... the hummus was defiantly can products not made in house . We ordered vegetarian grape leaves tasted so bad and old ,tabboli had no tomatoes in it .. the chicken and meat shawarma combo were cooked together horrible food really nasty . I made a complaint about the food to the server which he says he was the owner , his response was we cook according to the area we in .. didn't quietly understand his view ! Instead trying to correct or to offer something else instead .. didn't even have the curtsy to take anything off the bill , we left the place still hungry . My first time eating here was a terrible mistake that won't be repeated! Normally, I love humous, but theirs cant be classified a that, it was coarse, overly garlicky, and otherwise unedible! I know middle-eastern food, an theirs was the worst I've EVER had! The falafel most likely came pre-packaged from the freezer, tasted like burnt cardboard, the chicken was dry and probably reheated, the fattoush was lettuce and burnt pita bread with lots of oil and seasoning. I cannot fathom how this place gets so many good reviews. I have looked forward to trying it so took the plunge and got a groupon. Went yesterday for my birthday and we wont ever go back. My boyfriend got the club sandwich and it was the tiniest portion I have ever seen. Doesn't come with fries or any sides. I got the lamb kabobs and honestly it tasted more like beef than lamb (I do know and love good lamb). The hummus was ok but nothing grand, and the pita it came with was very flat and flavorless. Our waiter never came back to check on us or refill drinks. I had left my groupon up on my phone while I went to the ladies room. Came back and he was saying it had already been redeemed. My boyfriend said the waiter had picked it up and hit the back arrow and somehow it showed it as then redeemed. I explained that I had left it up and open and only purchased it 2 days prior. He said he would go ahead and take it off the bill for us. I felt rather accused that we were trying to pull something over on him. I love trying new places and I really do love leaving good reviews. My boyfriend and I went to this place today. We are in the area once in a while and decided to give it a try as we are die-hard lovers of Mediterranean food. First of all, all the places we go to offer free garlic and bread before you get your meal and they did not. We ordered hummus which was very bland in flavor. We then ordered our meals. His came with a lentil soup which he said was very sour. I ordered a wrap and he ordered a chicken tawook meal with rice. The garlic paste was disgusting as it was a mixture of sour and sweet and had the taste of curdled milk. I took two bites of my wrap and was done as I could only taste that HORRIBLE garlic paste. We thought the man who waited on us would get the picture as we didn't each much of our meals at all. We even refused a take out box. We weren't going to complain as we are just that type of people, but I refuse to pay over twenty dollars for crap food ever again. I'll be going to Shish Garden in Woodhaven or Southgate from now on as I KNOW it is good EVERY time. Save yourself the stomach ache and go elsewhere. read more

EXCELLENT! Five of my friends went for a breakfast get together to Bashar's and the food was delicious, and the service was perfect -- friendly and efficient without being annoying! All of us ordered something different, some having breakfast, some lunch, and all of said the same thing, "Yum! We are definitely coming back here!" Clean, comfortable, and wonderful service! For those that want to know, alcoholic beverages are available, I'm just not sure what kind: beer and wine, or full bar -- not sure. read more

Very disappointed. My husband and I tried this restaurant last night because we live in Flat Rock (used to live in Dearborn) and were hoping for a good close take out Mediterranean food place. I read the reviews here and decided to suggest it for dinner. Big mistake. We ordered small hummous and deboned chicken for two with rice and fattoush salad. The hummous was inedible - we both tried it then threw it away. It tasted watered down and the texture was mushy and gross. The fattoush salad had good flavor but way too many onions - it was difficult to pick around them. The deboned chicken was just okay - it was moist but nothing special. The rice had no flavor but was also edible. I was just really disappointed for a place that totes good Middle Eastern Food - next time we will try other places. read more
