The manager absolutely degraded me over the phone and treated me horribly even though I had a valid reason and didn't even want a refund -- and never even offered. I just wanted credit to come back as I have spent thousands of dollars here. My loyalty went completely down the drain and I feel disrespected and hurt. It's been a few months since my last visit with Chelsea and I am still so pleased and impressed with how it's grown out. Chelsea is a wizard when it comes to blending my roots with my dyed hair where I'm not at all embarrassed to walk around with my hair a little overgrown. Both times I've gone I've done a lob, both times turned out beautifully. The first time I went they fixed my roots situation and kept my hair a healthy cool-tone blonde. My second visit was the fun one where I got to dye my hair grey/silver. In the 3 years of trying for that perfect color, only Base has been able to get it down pat! The owner does a great job of making sure the atmosphere is laid back, (offers wine / water during your service, has a great pandora station on all the time) while the quality of their work is top notch! I use Krysta as my hair stylist (who happens to be the owner) and I've ever walked out with a haircut I don't love. When I started seeing Krysta, , I complained that my hair never grew past a certain length, and she put me on a routine schedule for haircuts and nearly 2 years later and my hair looks so much better! I had my second great haircut from Krysta yesterday. She spent time with me during our first session to understand what I was looking for as well as helping me understand my hair "challenges" and what I can do about it. I was given a recommendation from a friend for this salon which is blocks from my home. I called to make an appt, they scheduled it and then informed they needed a card on file for cancellations. I told them I am not comfortable with my card being on file at a salon I've never been to as doing this at other places in the past has resulted in my cc # being stolen 4 times in 1 year. I offered to just pay for my service in full prior to the service but I do not authorize them to keep the # on file. I went to Base salon about a month ago for a regular touch up with Jennifer B the "colorist" I had gone to her a couple times before (for silver hair, other times it would turn out OK but the color was never uniform) but this time she decided to try an experiment on my hair (which I had no idea she was doing) I came in (a little late which I apologized for) for my usual toner and she ended up giving me PURPLE HAIR IN FIFTEEN MINUTES! (she could have told me she didn't have time for me and I would have happily rescheduled but she decided to rush) I absolutely hated it, I understand I came a little late but she did everything in 15 minutes NO PROFESSIONALISM, she apologized, not for giving me purple hair or for experimenting on my hair but she apologized because I didn't like the outcome! I was already pissed and was ready to pay and leave and never come back, but she asked if I could stay so she could fix it as soon as she finish on her other client and I reluctantly agreed, she finally finished and sat me down and tried to fix her mistake, when she finished she was trying to convince me that the outcome of her fixing her mistake was great by telling me "it looks so nice and this is definitely in the silver family" when I finally got a good look at it I hated it! It was still purple, the sides of my hair were orange it was patchy as heck and worst of all she asked if I liked it! Of course I said no, paid, and I immediately went home to wash my hair but not before taking a picture of what I left with. I will never go back to this Salon ever again Jennifer is one of the most unqualified colorist, and to think I went in there for all the positive reviews! In my opinion I think that they are fake.
