They don't do food BUT the couple who now own Her Little Bar also own a bunch of the restaurants nearby (Her Thai, Met Him At A Bar, and the recently opened The Night We Met). There are other great options too and whatever you go for, you can eat it in the bar. There's a good selection of drinks and the cocktails are solid. We already have a solid pub/microbrewery but this is a great bar with a different vibe. A bar has been in this location for years but we really love this new incarnation. The corridor between Wilshire Blvd and W 9th is becoming a great pocket for food and drink with good people looking for BS free good times and the Her Little Bar crowd, staff and management are a great example that. Sean delivered the flaming drink while singing a Doors tune. Elvis in Hawaii arrived on a platter with an Elvis head on it. We tried a plethora of cocktails offer the night amongst six of us. I'd say a good half of them tasted watered down, as if the ice was melting too fast. And they are usually over filled with ice, for presentation. You can also order food at the table, which comes from the hot dog restaurant below the tiki bar, so that's a nice touch to add a little sustenance to your drinking. Drinks come out as ordered, but the bar is usually full so they can take a while to get to the table. Just an FYI. I am absolutely furious and extremely frustrated with my recent experience at this restaurant! To be honest, I rarely post reviews, but what happened was so outrageous that I can't hold back. If you ever consider dining here, I strongly urge you to avoid using their Valet service at all costs. I made the mistake of handing over my car due to the lack of parking, and what did I get in return? A broken window and my personal belongings stolen! Can you even believe it? When I confronted the Valet service about the incident, they had the audacity to deny any responsibility, refusing to acknowledge the problem. But that's not all - they made promises to fix the window, took down my VIN number, and shared their contact information, only to completely ghost me afterwards. It's beyond infuriating! I then turned to the restaurant owner seeking some resolution, but he shrugged off the whole situation, claiming there was nothing he could do about it. What's even worse is that he admitted he didn't want to confront the Valet service because he feared losing their partnership, even though their irresponsibility tarnished the restaurant's reputation. As a customer, I find this response completely unacceptable. The top priority for any business should be ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of its customers, but in this case, that was clearly disregarded. To add insult to injury, when I asked the owner to at least talk to the Valet company on my behalf, he outright refused, insisting they wouldn't cooperate anyway. It's appalling to witness such a lack of accountability from both the restaurant owner and the Valet company. In all honesty, I trusted this restaurant, believing they would take responsibility for the Valet service they hired. However, they merely washed their hands of the situation, leaving me with no resolution or compensation. It's simply unbelievable! To protect your car and belongings, I strongly advise against visiting this place. The people running this restaurant don't seem to care about their customers' well-being, and they're happy to let thieves and liars ruin your experience without any consequences. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this disaster of a restaurant. There are plenty of other establishments that value their customers and take responsibility for their actions. read more

I recently visited Basbusa restaurant and I have to say, it was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The atmosphere was cozy, inviting and beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and comfortable seating. When it came to the food, I was blown away. Every dish was cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and amazing flavor combinations. The hummus was silky smooth and the eggplant was amazing. But my favorite dish by far was the baranzino fish it was a big wow What truly sets this restaurant apart from others is the attention to detail and the passion put into each dish. The chef Sigal and staff truly care about the dining experience and make sure each customer feels valued and taken care of. I had the pleasure of celebrating my friend's 30th birthday at Basbussa Restaurant last night and it was an absolute treat! The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant were both fantastic - the lighting was just right and the music playing in the background and dancers created a lovely ambiance. But let's talk about the food - it was simply amazing. Its Mediterranean dishes are bursting with flavor! My personal favorites were the cheese borek, Cesar salad, cauliflower with yogurt, hummus with pita bread, and branzino fish. The lychee cocktails were divine! To top it all off, the service was excellent. Our server Z was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I had reservations, ordered appetizers, drinks, food and in the middle of my dinner she rudly comes to my table and says YOU HAVE TO LEAVE, YOUR TIME IS UP!!! My dinner had just arrived and she wanted me to leave because its been 2 hours. Nobody told us that there is a time limit for this restaurant when I made the reservation and nobody told us about the 2 hour limit when we sat down. The atmosphere at the place is truly amazing and very enjoyable. The space itself is beautiful, well-organized, and clean, making it very pleasant to sit and spend time there. The staff was also very kind and attentive, which definitely adds to the overall experience. We were a group of six people and ordered a wide variety of dishes, and some of us enjoyed the food more while others enjoyed it less. Unfortunately, the food was less to my personal taste. They have belly dancers and a live dj Thursday-Sunday. Usually places I've experienced with live entertainment have such bad quality food and just good drinks (if that). But that's not the case here. I visited this place yesterday with my girlfriend and had a terrible experience. The service was unacceptable - they forgot to bring water, then the lemon, and overall seemed careless. When my food finally arrived, there was a hair in it. Completely disgusting. I ended up not eating at all and left hungry. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

It was uncomfortable. He was trying to rush us out from the very beginning. Anyway, we were all having a great time, enjoying the music and food, right before, Shane, the manager, came to our table and told us that there is another reservation outside that needs our table and our table ONLY. We had ordered tea that didn't even arrive yet, and our waiter didn't bring out the bill yet either at this point! I was very uncomfortable by his comment and told him that our tea hasn't even come yet. Mind you, the other tables around us (non-Persians) were there way before we even got there, and they did not tell them to leave. He did not come up to us once, twice, or even 3 times. The 4th time, the owner came up to us and told us we have to leave!!! It was extremely embarrassing at this point because others could see what was going on and we didn't want to cause a scene. So we left. The whole thing ruined our night and soured our once enjoyable evening. I understand this place is running a business and they want to make money, which in their words, they are not trying to make money off their time limit, but rather want everyone to experience the "fun" at Next Door because there are "not a lot of kosher restaurants in LA with this experience," but come on. You can't squeeze your customers to pay $400 for dinner then harass them to get out once your 2 hours is up. The way they handled it was very unprofessional, rude, and honestly shameful. Very low class move. I don't recommend coming here unless you want to spend a lot of money and get kicked out (if you're Persian). They are racist and their whole management is extremely rude and arrogant. Every person no matter who they are deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. This place is not it.

The menu selection is also very good, even for vegetarians. There was a specials menu this weekend, which added to the choices. Great, so far. The food itself was mixed. The seasonal Tortelloni Mais was excellent. Moist, chewy, delicately flavored and the portion was good. The Penne Arrabiata was good, not memorable. I alway choose gnocchi when it is on any menu and these Pesto Gnocchi were properly light. However, unlike what is done in Italy, they were drowned in the pistachio pesto -- see my pictures. This may be because Americans think all pastas should be inundated with sauce. In Italy, most people (I among them) prefer "pasta sciutto", "dry pasta". Just a light touch of sauce to elevate but not overwhelm the bed of pasta on which it should sit, delicately. There was a great dessert menu and we chose two that were quite good. However, the Pistachio Tortino clearly had a heavy dose of almonds (and aren't in the description) in it. Almonds big-foot whatever they accompany and so there was no way for the delicate pistachio to emerge. The lattes were good. I think the prices are reasonable. Yet, no one asked us if we wanted bread and condiments, for which we were charged as we noted when we got the bill. The bread tasted days old -- nothing memorable. Simone and Miguel were excellent caregivers. Simone is from Italy and I always appreciate having someone from the old country to oversee a meal. All the people who attended to us were friendly and professional, and that was a real pleasure. I hope Via Alloro can up its game and make the changes that are implied here to match its cousin across the street, owned by the same group and chef. These are small tweaks that should be easy to implement and certainly would make sense, given the fierce competition from other BH Italian restaurants in the area.
