Pork plate with rice, beans and sweet plantain
Jason E.

This hidden gem, nestled between Lexington and Nicholasville off Harrodsburg Road, offers a unique blend of authentic Spanish and Cuban cuisine. The extensive menu is packed with mouthwatering tapas, perfect for sharing - The tostones and fried plantain are always a favorite. They also have a fantastic selection of entrees. The Cuban sandwich is a standout--an absolute must-try. If you're searching for a new local spot to explore, this place is worth checking out. With excellent service and delectable food, come hungry--you won't be disappointed. ---- Esta joya escondida, ubicada entre Lexington y Nicholasville, cerca de Harrodsburg Road, ofrece una mezcla única de auténtica cocina española y cubana. Cuban Style Roasted Pork Plate - AMAZING!!

This is the best Cuban food I have ever had in the United States. Nestled right here in the Lexington area, is this amazing quaint Cuban restaurant owned by a couple brothers that have nocked it out of the park! Wow! Highly recommend the Cuban Style Roasted Pork Plate for an authentic experience that is to die for. Please support local, as this two have something special going on! The service is impeccable!

My favorite part was the fish tacos. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich and the fried calamari which was good too. It's a small place with about 10 tables so might want to plan ahead if you have a larger party. The restaurant is decorated very cute. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

I really liked my experience at this new Tapas restaurant in Lexington. I ordered two tapas items - the Cubano sliders and the pork tacos. Both tasted great and the food was so filling I almost didn't have room for my 2nd taco (but I did eat it anyway!). The atmosphere is great and service super friendly.

Ate here the first time tonight and we were not disappointed. Small but cozy dining room. We arrived early, around 6 pm and were seated served fairly quickly. We were only the second couple there but it filled up while we were there. We got the potatoes, shrimp and pork street tacos from the tapas menu and the Cuban pork plate from the entree menu. All were fantastic! The sangria was pretty nice as well. Definitely will go back!!

Once again, the food was spectacular. My friend that I sent over said that was the best Cuban he has ever had. Alberto is absolutely knowledgeable of the menu and gives every patron the utmost attention. His mother is an absolute magician in the kitchen! I feel enjoy the laid back ambience and the lighting allows for a nice, relaxing, romantic evening. If you don't get out here and keep this place going, you're a bunch of boneheads!

Fantastic Sangria made in house!

Love this little Spanish restaurant! Fantastic tapas! I've been here twice and loved both meals.

What a hidden gem! We got three dishes and each one was perfection...pictured are the patatas bravadas and shrimp ceviche crostone, but we also got the Cuban sandwich. Nothing could be improved upon. Wonderful service as well. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Really enjoyed the food. The sangria was great. Gambas al ajillo needed more spice and wasn't very hot when it came out. I would like to see more Spanish tapas and less Latin American food on the menu. Overall good start and can't wait to see more

The food was fabulous. If you're in a hurry go somewhere else. 45 minute for the paella. Worth every minute. All the tapas were great.

Great food. Unique menu. Bar menu could use a bump! The wine was very reasonably priced.

The homemade sauces are to die for, let's just start there. And second, I'll admit that I've gotten carryout from there two days in a row. I will say that the online ordering platform on Yelp is powered by Grubhub and the prices vary from the dine in menu. The torta here is literally the best in Lexington, and I've eaten them from more local places than I care to admit. The bread was so fresh that I'm thinking it was homemade. The steak option literally looked like it had a pound of beef on it. The melted cheese and the guacamole were fantastic as well. It was like a fat cheese steak sandwich at half the cost of a usual cheese steak sandwich. Oh, and it also comes with an order of fries, which is a nice surprise. I've also had the chicken burrito plate. It comes with two burritos, rice, beans, cheese sauce and guacamole. The guacamole and cheese sauce is sooo good. I think the white queso is a regional thing and I'm glad, it's my favorite. I recommend asking for the cheese sauce on the side so that you can add some to the rice. Thank me later.

I had a summer Friday off and decided today was the day that I tried this restaurant!…read more I am so happy I did, I had a late lunch and was the only one in the place, everyone I encountered was kind helpful. I looked at the menu but already knew I was ordering a Cuban sandwich. They had many favors of Jarritos I was happy before I even got food! I got an amazing sandwich with pork and cheese, and enough for 2 servings. I really felt like I was in Miami where I had my somewhat authentic in the US Cuban. They had a huge take out business, that means the folks working in the offices around them approve. I did not try any of the side dishes, but that is a reason to go back. The location was easy to get to with easy parking, the staff was friendly and make you feel like family. This is a bit of out of the way for me, but I will be back.

The rice and beans were a little bland but well cooked. The Cuban came out fast, but the cheese hadn't really melted at all. The flavors all felt a little rushed, pre-packaged, even. The restaurant is very simple, and features a store of Latin goodies in the back. We will definitely visit again to try the empanadas.

We began googling places to eat and happened upon a listing for The Colombian Corner. "Colombian food? In Lawrenceburg?," we asked ourselves. "Why sure," we answered. This ended up being quite possibly the best decision we've made in a very, very long time. The Colombian Corner is a family-owned Colombian restaurant (mom, dad, 3 brothers) located in a regular-appearing strip mall. It, however is NOT regular. It is unique, local, delicious, and truly a treasure. We were greeted warmly, supplied with complimentary plantain chips and creole sauce, and given a rundown of both the specials and any regular menu items about which we had questions. They also made sure to explain which items could be altered and adjusted to fit any dietary preferences and allergy needs. Juices and sauces are made in house; there are at least 7 salsa/sauces - my favorites were the spicy green salsa and the creole sauce (SO much delicious garlic). I ordered the vegan platter: sauteed mushrooms, corn, white rice, pinto beans, yuca fries, and plantains. SO good, SO fresh, and enough to take some home for lunch the next day. Although The Colombian Corner is about 1 hour away from home, I am absolutely upon and willing to make the trip to Lawrenceburg just to eat here again.

The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and great recommendations. I got the quarter chicken & churrasco steak, and a chicken empanadas (recommended). It had chicken, olives, boiled eggs in it. At first I was confused but with the second bite I was hooked. Also the crust was buttery and has a perfect bite to it. The food was outstanding! Tasted like it was straight from Latin/South America. Which obviously is a compliment coming from a Colombian and a gringa who loves her food with a Latin flair! Steak is medium with a nice char, and the chicken has a seasoning that is reminiscent of the Caribbean. Rice and beans are always a great combo and you absolutely cannot go wrong with the plantains!
