El Patio has the best patio (hence the name)... under cover and both heated and cooled for comfort year round. The inside is for sports fans (there has to be 100 TVs!). The food is five stars, and the garlic shrimp is something I dream of (think shrimp scampi but better!). Excellent food and atmosphere. Decent prices. The place was very busy inside and out. Don't let the parking lot fool that you are in a rough place. The customers and atmosphere is very nice. They have live music on the patio often. They have a large patio and a big potion of it is covered so it's nice out there even if it's raining. We were also very pleased their attentive service even though there many people there and about half of the tables inside and out were full. Our new go-to Mexican restaurant! I'm not sure how long El Patio has been open, but we just recently discovered it with our friends. First, the patio area is very nice with plenty of seating and a small stage for live music! There was a band that performed while we were there. They seem to be regulars and they were definitely a vibe. The food was very good as well! Timely and delicious! I of course recommend trying their margaritas as they were wonderful. I've been trying to get to this restaurant for a while. It did not disappoint! It was not busy, so we were seated immediately. There was a 2 for one lime margarita special that was great! I had rocks the hubby had frozen they were very good. The hubby had the 4 enchilada combo I like the cheese, he liked the beef. I had a la carte Chile releno cheese and it was amazing! Unexpected hidden treasure! We found this place on Google Maps and thought the name was cute. With the good reviews, we decided to try it out. We were greeted by pleasant, smiling hosts, and seated immediately. Chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was fresh and delicious. Our server took our orders promptly, and refilled our drinks throughout our meal. It's a nice, comfortable, home-like ambiance. Everyone was relaxed but efficient. You get the sense that they really enjoy their jobs. Mom got the Burrito Lexington, and she said it was "out of this world". She loved the fresh onions and tomatoes, the medium spiciness of the sauces, and how tender the meat was. I got the chicken chimichanga, and it was excellent. The chicken inside was flavorful and could have been an awesome dish all by itself. The rice was spicy and a great texture, and everything was as it should be. Brandon was great, and all the servers/staff seemed to stop by and check on us. We never felt pressured, just relaxed and like they were making sure we were enjoying everything. For a big dinner for 2 adults, the price was very reasonable (~$40). This was a comfy, delicious meal at a small restaurant that exceeded my expectations. Best frozen margaritas in town. The service is the best I've had in a long while. You won't wait to need anything since the staff is always coming by to check on things and the waiters don't just take care of their own tables; it seems they know what teamwork means. The food is great. Best enchiladas around. Fajita taco salads are on point. The rest of the food is pretty standard and won't disappoint. If you like the patio atmosphere they have one, with live music at times, which isn't my thing so I like sitting inside. The only thing I would recommend to them is turn down the volume on the TVs inside a bit, but otherwise everything is spectacular. The service was great the employees genuinely seem happy to have their restaurant. Food is delicious! We will definitely return and come in to eat sometime. It's cute and clean inside. El Patio has been getting rave review on Yelp and some other community discussion boards. With Mexican food being my favorite I just had to check them out so we ordered takeout. I love salsa...so if you don't have a good salsa I'm probably going to knock off quite a few points. El Patio has a really good one though! It had just a tiny amount of heat which I quite liked. I was excited to see they had a Choripollo because not many in town do. It was just ok though. Not bad but not near the best I've had. Everything else was really tasty though. Finally, we added on some takeout frozen margaritas as well. They were nice and strong but I thought they were missing something flavor wise. With all of these great reviews we just had to try El Patio for ourselves. Located off Richmond Rd. in a strip mall behind Chase bank, this Mexican restaurant gets high scores in all the things that matter most. First of all, we were seated quickly and brought chips snd salsa. I think it's important for a Mexican restaurant to have a good salsa, and theirs was really good. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. We never had a long wait for anything we needed. We started with guacamole and the cheese dip, and for our entrees I had the chicken chimichanga and my husband had a chicken dish, the Pollo Guanajuato. The entrees were quite large and very tasty! You know what they say... if I could give it ten stars, I would. Oh, I think I just made that up. You know what else I made up? The saying: I've never met a burrito that I couldn't finish. Well, that particular statement no longer rings true. All thanks to El Patio, the home of my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington. The Richmond Road location is definitely hidden, in the former Life Brew location. With it's red walls, and immaculate decor, it's very modern and contemporary. They opened in the midst of the pandemic craziness, four months ago. As we pulled in I noticed the neon sign scrolling the special of the day, the fajitas. Chicken fajitas is what my husband usually orders anyways, so he was ready to order as soon as the sat down. I had to ask the waiter for a recommendation of the best burrito. The burrito deluxe is what our phenomenal waiter recommended, and his definition keyword was "huge". Huge was almost an understatement. To say his recommendation didn't disappoint, is definitely an understatement. The steak inside was phenomenal and the spices were like nowhere else in Lexington. Everything was flavorful without being overly spicy. My husband is a hard one to please and he was impressed from the moment we sat down and his request for homemade salsa was fulfilled to not one, but two house made hot sauces. read more

I was trying very hard to give this a 5, but I learned from someone if you give a place a 5 that means you will be hard-pressed to find anything better. Their location is a little hard to find, they are behind Shammy car wash which is next to Qdoba. To go through Shammy car wash from behind their building you will drive by their door front. in the back corner behind the International Market. Their sign is not very visible from the main parking area of the shopping plaza. Upon entering warmly greeted, I would say they are very attentive at customer service, I had no problems with drinks running dry, or them making sure there is nothing further they could do for me, and if there were any concerns to please let them know. The place is clean, very modern and clean they have only been open for 5 weeks, It's a slightly different atmosphere than your typical Mexican restaurant and not in a bad way. Where I am being critical is the food came out quickly, hot, and all looked fresh, but and it may be personal preference but I normally expect strips of steak and these were smaller finer pieces and with the oil, they saute in, everything sorta looked the same color. more of a presentation issue. not picture perfect. and steak could use some seasoning I think, the taste got lost in the cooking process somewhere. Papi's and El Patio, in my opinion sit at the top when it comes to Mexican food in Lexington. Granted I haven't tried every place in Lexington, but I have had many and for my taste it isn't even close. I LOVe El Patio's Chicken Enchiladas with queso blaco over them instead of red sauce. One thing I always want and request is that the enchiladas, wherever I order them are served really hot (temperature wise) and they serve them like that every time and they are great. The chips and salsa are crazy good and the wait staff is absolutely awesome. They take large parties and separate bills, which is a pain I know with crazy accuracy. We have two go-to Mexican spots in town, one has a great features menu and the other one has amazing tacos, tortas and the like. We decided to try something new yesterday, and for what it was, it didn't disappoint. The menu is no different than any of a dozen other Mexican restaurants: queso, nachos, fajitas, queso, chimichangas, etc. That said, the quality and portion size was better than any other standard Mexican restaurants in town.
