I've been wanting to try this place due to there always seems to be quite a number of cars parked out front. The interior is really nice and decorated. The servers were very nice. However, the food is expensive. More than it really should be. I placed an order to go and thought everything was going along ok. Much to my surprise when I get home the order was messed up. Exceeded my expectations twice. Not only is the service amazing, but the food is maybe some of the best local mexican food i've ever had. All the meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly, not overdone, the cheese dip is soooo good,Even the presentation is good. The wait staff is very friendly and personable. I even dropped my water on the ground and offered to clean it up and our server was so sweet and said it was no trouble and she would clean it up. Although the prices are a little higher than other georgetown mexican restaurants, it's completely worth it in my opinion. My review several months ago has significantly changed. Our first note of the price hike...called in two dinners....burrrito and chicken fajitas single order. $55. Nope! They went in and saw a very reduced menu with prices increased by at least $5 per entree. Everything averaged $20 and NO SOUR CREAM OR GUACAMOLE included in dishes that normally come with it. $2 for a tiny side of sour cream. They are nickeling and diming is along with increased prices. Is the food wonderful, yes. But with no ground beef or aka carte I'm not sure how a family could go here. I went to Tres Amigos before a night out with a large group. We had a single server to cover a group of about 20 but he knocked it out of the park. Food and drinks were all correct and came out in decent time. The menu is huge and food was great, about as good as you'll get for dine in Mexican in Georgetown. I tried their margarita flight with 4 different flavors. It was fun to try but because of the nature of a flight, they melted more quickly than I could drink them so probably wouldn't go for those again. They were a little sweet for my tastes too, though plenty strong enough! Overall, this may be my new go to Mexican when I'm in Georgetown. read more

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in town, highly surpassing the rest. The super friendly atmosphere the second you walk in really makes you feel like you're entering someone's house after being invited over for dinner. The staff really make you feel like a family member rather than a customer. Our server Maddox was incredible, he made us laugh and feel good about it being our first experience and his recommendations that we ate were the best thing we've eaten in a while! The decor in the building is very minimal while still resembling a Mexican restaurant without being so overpowering. A full bar with great selections and TVs to watch the game make it worth while staying a little bit. Don't even get me started on the food! Everything we have tried since it has opened here in town has been impeccable, it TASTES like it was made with happiness. You know what I mean? Like the food tastes great because the cooks might love doing what they do. We came here instead of one of the other Mexican restaurants and we were not let down from point A to B. "Wow" is an understatement for this resultant hidden in the heart of Georgetown. It's clean, friendly and the food is fantastic! My wife had tradition steak tacos that the steak was so tender and seasoned to perfection. I had the chorizo chicken with cheese. As you can see from the picture, they take their time to plate each item like it was a 5 star restaurant. This dis was so incredible that it will be hard to try anything else. The owners come from other Mexican restaurants in the area and what they told me last night, they took the best dishes from around the area and made them better with fresh ingredients and a labor of love. They are inviting all of the YELP community to try them and also want to have a special "elite" event. When I realized I would be moving to Georgetown, I thought I knew where the best Mexican place in town was. I was wrong. My brother and sister-in-law introduced my fiancee and me to Tres Amigos. Very upscale atmosphere (not something I find terribly important but worth mentioning when it happens) and excellent service. I found the Chicken California and fell in love with it. It was incredible. This was our go-to place for ourselves or when we went out with others. Always excellent. Recommend if you're planning on going to Tres Amigos that you give more weight to the recent reviews (anytime after April/May 2023) as those will give you a better picture of how things are now. Our last trip to Tres Amigos was quite a letdown. Same upscale atmosphere and same, for the most part, great food. The menu was given a very drastic overhaul with my brother's favorite dish being one of the casualties. And the prices skyrocketed - not just inflation but in the 'what were you thinking, ya greeedy [censored]??" level. We're paying more to eat out these days everywhere we go but the price hikes aren't that bad. Pre-hike meal of $24 now costs $31. Not here. Before the menu overhaul and price hikes our tab was around $35, now - for the same meal - it's closer to $70. Nope. Not doing it and can't recommend it to others. We've noticed most everyone else in the area seems to agree with us too. The parking lot used to be packed and now you will have zero problems getting in and getting seated because they have alienated their customer-base with the changes. read more

I went for my 4th time today and to my surprise, they were serving Menudo! The service, as always was excellent, the margaritas were delicious, and the hot sauces never disappoint. I enjoyed the flavor of the Menudo, however the tripa seemed quite a bit undercooked. Very chewy and rubbery. The waiter said it wasn't on the menu yet, so maybe they are still trying to find out the best way to cook the dish. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience. read more

I would give this place 10 or a million stars if I could! wish there was one in Lexington but I will drive to Georgetown to eat here real talk. I'd freakin live there if I could. Vibes were top from the moment we walked in it smelt clean like the counters and tables were freshly cleaned. Food smelled amazing from the parking lot. Best queso you gotta try it. I ordered the carnitas and it was chefs kiss delicious no joke, it was tender and juicy with tortillas on the side so as not to get soggy. They took it up a notch by putting fried plantains on the side. Esthetically pleasing dishes and drinks. But what really took me to heaven was the rice. Most places, it all just tastes like the same plain old rice but here, NO SIR they must put extra seasoning or something in it because I was like HOLD UP what is this SORCERY?! My friend is a vegetarian and they had plenty of options for her as well. She had the spinach quesadilla and looked delicious and massive. I wish I could give a better ranking, but I can't. The food that I got at Tres Amigos was, by far, the blandest Mexican food I have ever eaten in my life. By a lot. It started out with the salsa and chips. The chips were cold, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce with no extra seasoning or heat whatsoever. And it was served in this tiny little square whatever that looked like it was more suited to dipping sushi into soy sauce than for serving salsa. It was so small that I had to break the chip into thirds just to fit a chip in it to get some salsa. I ordered a vegetarian fajita dinner which came with guacamole, rice, beans, and pico. So I thought it was a fair price for that many side dishes. Only the servings for the side dishes were ridiculously small as well. 1/4 cup or so of refried beans, roughly the same (maybe a bit more) rice, but only a tablespoon max of guacamole on a mound of shredded lettuce. About the same with the pico and sour cream. And the dinner only came with 3 6" flour tortillas which was nowhere near enough. The veggies were served hot, but they appeared undercooked to the point that they looked more like scorched raw veggies. And they were as bland as the salsa. Literally no seasoning, heat, or spice whatsoever. Any 2-year-old could have eaten it with no difficulty. I expect a certain amount of robust flavor in a Mexican meal, but this was just a plain oatmeal version of Mexican food. Definitely not traditional Mexican food as advertised. The food didn't taste bad, it was just meh. There were plenty of fajita veggies served, so I was able to take enough home for a second meal. I will definitely have to add some spices to it to make it taste remotely close to the flavor of what I consider to be traditional Mexican food. The salsa was flavorless. The side dish portions were small to tiny. The main dish was OK at best. The service was adequate. The price of the meal was high for what I received. To be honest, Taco Bell food would have been at least as good at half the cost, and definitely have more flavor. The only reason I gave this restaurant 3 stars instead of 2 was the portion size of the main dish which was large. Bland, but plenty of it. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly enough. I cannot help but think that there must be a better "traditional" Mexican restaurant at this price point in Georgetown. read more

Not only were we told that we couldn't order a la carte quesadillas or tacos by themselves, but they had also raised the menu prices considerably in the time that we had last eaten there. Generally, prices were in the range of $16-$21 while a cup of cheese dip is $8. Although the food is above average compared to the rest of the Mexican restaurants in Georgetown, KY, it was not worth $55 for two people. read more

We have eaten at every Mexican restaurant in the area and Tres Amigos is by far the best. They had a slow start due to Covid but are fully staffed now. The service is impeccable and the food and drink selection is extensive. The food is very nicely presented and is good and hot from the kitchen. The portions are more than generous. But the real deal is the taste! The flavors are complex and have just the right seasoning. You can tell the dishes are created individually and not mass produced. So each ingredient in your dish will still maintain its individual flavor as intended. We have eaten here about 8 times and each time the experience has been outstanding! read more
