All the chicken fajitas it was completely inedible

I haven't eaten at La Isla in Lawrenceburg ky in a minute, that was when the food was edible! Tonight we ordered chicken fajitas and omg, peppers onions and the chicken were all overcooked and under seasoned! We also ordered the queso with chips both tasted old/stale. So they raised their prices for dry unseasoned tasteless food, yeah we will not be eating there any time soon. Question did they maybe change the cooks, because even the rice wasn't cooked properly . Had to give a star

Not bad. Bathroom are old, worn and dirty. Ok customer service. Salsa was thick and lacked flavor, chips were alright. Nice interior decorations but nothing more worthy. Too many other places in the world to eat to settle for average. It wasn't bad, but not memorable either. I'd pass and try somewhere else.

increíble todo !!! Trying to find something close to home for lunch and somewhere we'd never been. So of course I turn to Yelp. I mention La Isla which is right up the road. We pull in and they appear to be fairly busy. Walk in an immediately get seated. Get a minute to look at the drinks available which is like all other Mexican restaurants. Our drinks come right away and we are ready to order. We didn't have time to get a conversation off the ground when our food comes out, it had to have been 5 minutes or less. I'm still amazed at how fast the turn around was. The food was fresh and hot and yes yummy!! We've never had this fast service for anything. La Isla is definitely my Mexican restaurant of choice when in Lawrenceburg.

I asked if they could change the bean one to cheese, so I had 2 cheese. After a couple of bites I started not to feel good. (I am DEATHLY allergic to peanuts). After not feeling good I went to the hostess at the front door and looked at the menu a second time to make sure enchiladas had no peanuts. I asked the young lady is there any peanut and what the enchilada sauce is because I'm deathly allergic and the bites I ate made me feel really uneasy. She looked at me and told me just not to order that one or get green sauce because she is unsure (after I told her I already ate some). I asked her to find out. She did and came back to me and told me they didn't have enchilada sauce and they put Mole Sauce instead and she said that it DOES have peanut. KEEP IN MIND I TOLD HER I WAS NOT FEELING WELL FROM THE FOOD. NO one did anything after that. My brothers, who were with me, asked for the check immediately because they said they had to take me to the emergency room. Still no urgency to get the check. Brother had to go up and pay. After paying and trying to leave. They stopped us and told us that we have to wait because they gave us the wrong receipt we paid for. I HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND THAT WAS MORE IMPORTANT.. NO sense of urgency at all. Long story short 4 emergency room hours later. I feel better.

Felt like trying something new and this had the "new" label on it. It was enormous. Way more than I could handle. Contains shrimp, scallops, chicken and chopped steak. The cactus leaves were delicious. It was delicious but more of a two serving dish. Good date night meal. The chips were crispy and the salsa is also great. The sweet tea was also amazing.

The music was so loud I could not have a conversation with my partner. To make matters worse, there was a small vacuum being used. They had only been open for 40 minutes! Could the cleaning have been done BEFORE you opened as not to disturb your guests? Please as managers, sit at a booth with this going on and see if you need to adjust the music and stop vacuuming during open hours. Get a broom. Too much. I do enjoy this restaurant and really look forward to going each time. Not anymore.

They offer plenty of other authentic Mexican plates as well, so there's something for everyone. I came in as "new in the area," and over the years the atmosphere has shifted into something rarer: it feels like you've been folded into the orbit of a family business that genuinely cares whether you leave happy. The food is consistently fresh and made with the kind of attention that's hard to fake. The classics hit every time--tacos on simple corn tortillas with cilantro and onion, a menu that goes well beyond the basics, and all the little details that make it taste like someone's cooking for people they know. But here's the real reason I tell people to go: the birria de chiva. If you're having one of those days where everything feels heavy, go sit down, order the soup, and let it do its work. It's rich, comforting, and somehow resets your whole mood in the first few bites. I've tried a lot of "comfort food" in my life--this is the real thing. Addendum: the recent patio addition and the bar are wonderful.
