I ordered fish tacos and there was beef fajitas inside the tortilla with the fish. When I brought it up with the waitress her response was "Don't worry, we won't charge you for the beef". I asked for her to clarify and she said she would only charge me for the fish taco plate and not the beef portion... the beef that I did not order! What a bizarre response. I said I would like the tacos comped from the bill. It was not a flavorful combination and certainly not what I ordered. The manager was called over by the waitress and he said the same thing. "Don't worry we won't charge you for the beef.... But will still charge for the fish tacos. I really thought I was not understanding their response. Their chips and salsa was really good and fresh. They had even hot sauce option for the sauce that was good ! We ordered enchiladas and I really did not like the black bean and the cheese tortilla but the rice was decent ! Tried the spinach and the veggie quesadilla! That was good and very filling! The salad that came with it did not really feel fresh at all! I was excited for it but was not the best :( My friend loved the vegetarian burrito. Very good Mexican restaurant in Jett. If you're not looking for it you'll drive right past it. But don't. This place has really good food and even better service. First of all, they'll let you order lunch at lunch on a weekend. I'm not sure how or why that's going out of fashion at some of these restaurants, but thankfully these guys recognize lunch time even on Saturday and Sunday. And you won't need any more than the lunch entrees. They are more than enough to feed even the hangriest (misspelling intended) of you. The tortilla chips are super thin and tasty...some of the best I've had. The salsa is very good as well. I went with the El Mexicano, which includes Chili Relleno, a tamale, Mexican rice, and refried beans. I would definitely recommend this meal. The chili relleno is excellent. The tamale, while not the best I've ever had, is quite good. And the refried beans are very good, without the aftertaste you get at so many restaurants. My wife ordered the Jamaican Pollo. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the flavor of this dish is super tasty and original. I would recommend this dish as well. As I mentioned above, the service here is incredible. Let me preface this by saying I grew up in a Hispanic house, so my standards are pretty high when it comes to Mexican (or Tex-Mex) style food. I want to point out that this is just the Tex-Mex style and not actual Mexican. When I got there, I got seated right away. We had decent service throughout the night. The margaritas are a bit weak for my taste, but I really like tequila. The chips were normal and the salsa was able to have a subtle smoky Chipotle flavor--which I happen to find unpleasant, but that really is just me. I do not enjoy Chipotle flavor in anything, so the salsa is just not my thing. I saw that tortas were on the menu and I had not had a real torta style sandwich in so long. The only one on the dinner menu was the steak torta. It came with a side and they gave me fries. The steak itself was in one big piece and it wasn't fork tender so it really needed to be cut before adding it to the bread. The steak lacked flavor and seasoning. It game with lettuce, tomato and huge onion slices. There was also cheese and maybe mushrooms on it, but the sandwich was still dry. I asked for mayo to put on it. This was not the torta I was used to. The reason for the one star is when I went to the restroom, a server was in there. She went to "wash" her hands and just ran them under water. No soap. I've eaten here several times and it's by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in Frankfort! Love, love the salsa! I could eat it with a spoon :) We've also always had good service. The steak fajitas, the Ricki's carne asada, the pollo con arroz y chorizo, even the tacos...you cannot go wrong. Miguel is a top notch guy and he only hires the best staff. I took myself on a little date here. Ate on the patio on a beautiful day. I was seated quickly and they start you off with some chips and salsa, which appear to be fresh-made, delicious. I ordered the catfish platter, it came with 4 catfish filets, they were a bit thin, but that made them super crispy. It also had 4 hush puppies and a large amount of French fries. The hush puppies were very tasty, but a bit over cooked. The fries were fried to a light crispness, but were not seasoned. I had to ask for salt and pepper. I finished with the Flan, which is made in-house. It was a perfect portion for one, the caramel was light and sweet, the custard was thick and creamy. I will certainly be going back! read more

They also overcharged one of us didn't even get food and it was still very expensive. My personal experience was terrible. Both times I went I wouldn't go here ever again because it was overpriced. Went here with some friends to hear a band play. The food was your normal Mexican,good but nothing special. How ever at the end of the night I went to settle up my tab and the waiter had put everyone in our large group on the same one. I was able to pick out our food and drinks for the wife and I. But the last couple to leave was stuck with an extra $100. No knowing who owed what or if it was still owed they went ahead an paid it. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Usually I come to Miguel's and they do a great job, but today was the worst. My group and I came to the restaurant at around 5:30pm. We were waiting on two other guests to arrive but decided to get appetizers and order without them after waiting awhile. Whenever the appetizers came out, the quest was cold and had to be reheated and it didn't have any flavor along with the guacamole that was ordered. Once our food came out, my order was wrong and I notified our waiter, Elder. He came out with the boss (older woman) and she asked what my order was so that it could be fixed and told me it would be out within 10 minutes. Eventually the rest of our party arrives (2 guests btw) and I still hadn't received my order. Elder (the waiter) comes to take their order and I asked him about my food and said "I've been waiting for almost about 45 minutes for it to be remade. If it's not ready or being made, then I don't want it anymore." He said "let me go check." Once he comes back to the table he said "They never remade your order and can't make it because they're working on a party of 45 people." I then asked to speak to the boss (woman) and Elder said she can't come because she's cooking. I then asked to speak to the owner and asked if the older man standing at the door was him. He said "that's not the owner. He's a customer." My friend decided to go see if that's the owner and when she told him I'm having a problem with my order the owner replied "that's her problem not yours." I gather my stuff and go to speak to the owner and he says "You sent the guacamole back. What was wrong with it? Your food was being made but you didn't want it and all of our staff are working on the large party, maybe if your guest weren't late this wouldn't have happened. There's nothing I can do." I then said, "My friend sent the guacamole back and that was her order so it has nothing to do with me. The waiter told me my food wasn't made and couldn't be made. If my order was in the process of being remade I would have taken it. I come to this restaurant often and like coming here but today this was poor service." The owner still didn't have anything to say and didn't try to make anything right. Also, while I was waiting on my food to be remade, Elder didn't clear the table of cups or chip but serviced everyone else around us. I'm very disappointed. read more

Just passing through and happened upon Miguel's. Salsa is fresh with a hint of heat. But the enchiladas! I hadn't seen the meat and veggies on top of the tortillas before, but wow! Not very busy, super friendly staff. My husband and I took our two little ones (2and3yrs old at the time) and the staff helped entertain and played with them a little which was very heartwarming. I don't remember what my husband got but he always asks the waiter for their favorite dish and so that's what he was served and was not disappointed. The server we had kept disappearing out the front doors where everyone that wanted to smoke was standing so that you had to walk through it when you came in. I really don't know why some of the low rated reviews on this restaurant. My girlfriend and I stopped here on our way from Lexington to Louisville a few nights ago. There were only a few tables seated. They had an NBA game on all of the big screen tvs scattered around the place. Our server got to us quickly and was very friendly. My girlfriend got a salad and carnitas, I got a large burrito. Our food reached the table in a matter of minutes and tasted very, very good. We are probably even a bit of Mexican food snobs - we've tried hundreds of places and make sure to try a new one in every city we ever go to. We judge them against each other simply because we love Mexican food and believe we have determined which restaurants make TexMex well, which make authentic Mexican well, and which do neither. And we both came to the conclusion without needing much discussion at all (although after trying each other's meals) that this place is pretty freaking good. Her carnitas were incredibly thick cuts that were very tender and flavored incredibly well. My burritos were spectacular - the beef had virtually no grease, which is rare in a Mexican restaurant. But when there's no grease, you taste the actual flavor of the beef. And theirs was seasoned in a very unique and surprisingly awesome way...almost more like a taco seasoning like you would've gotten on a taco burger at the old Taco Tico. Our server was very friendly and attentive, all of the food was clearly very fresh and very well prepped, cooked, and presented, and service was fast. We will definitely stop here again on our way between the two cities. I was recently here to listen to my dad's band play on the patio. I decided to order some food and grub on some chips and salsa while we waited for them to start. I was not overly impressed with the food, however they were super busy and running around like crazy to get orders taken and fulfilled. I LOVE the patio. That space is big, decorated nicely, and provides just the perfect amount of privacy to enjoy your evening without remembering you are right off a main road. They have a nice stage area for the band and even a small dance floor to get down on if you so choose. Trust me, loads of people are out there for the dancing. I am giving this spot 4 stars because of how impressed with the patio I was on my recent visit. And, Frankfort is my hometown and I always have a great time hanging out with my family. read more
