Las Mulitas

Food was good. Scenery was good. Service was poor. Need to work on the service. Sat with empty drinks and empty chips for a long time. Even after our waitress left to go get us more. Finally had to get another waitress to get our waitress.

We stumbled upon this place while visiting other shopping establishments. The amazing smells coming from within lured us in. It was a Friday night around 7:00ish. We were immediately greeted and sat. The salsa is brought out to you already poured in a bowl. I'm not fond of this, but I've noticed many restaurants are now doing it this way. The salsa was sooo good! Could tell is made fresh with fresh ingredients, even my 11 year old commented how fresh it tastes. Chunks of onion and tomato- not runny or bland- perfect spices. Our food came out at a descent speed and was hot. So yummy and nice portion size ( see pics). Prices are average. Service was nice. Would absolutely come back and plan too!

We were invited to meet some friends at Garcia's for dinner. Of course you can't go wrong with good company for dinner. When we arrived we entered the restaurant knowing that some of our party were already there as my husband recognized the vehicle we parked next to. We were greeted at the entrance by two male employees and told them we were there to meet some friends. The dynamic duo tried to set up a location for us to eat. They didn't comprehend that we knew some of our party were already inside. Fortunately in their search for a table they came across a female employee that knew exactly where our party was seated. Whew! After being seated the server took our drink orders. Nothing too difficult, an unsweetened ice tea and a water. After the final two members of our party arrived and were served their drinks the server returned to take our food order. My husband ordered the Chile relleno dinner and I ordered the Taco salad with ground beef. Other members of our party had been to Garcia's before and Fish tacos seemed to be the dinner of choice. When served all the hot dinners came out first and I was told my salad was being made. No problem. Unfortunately I was less than impressed with my salad. There was NO meat of any kind. The lettuce chunks were way too big to stuff in my mouth. There were a number of strips of carrots that were three or four inches long and too chunky to cut in half. There was one small scoop of sour cream and guacamole on the top but otherwise the salad was quite dry and flavorless. I poured some left over salsa from the chips on too to make it edible. I think I ordered the wrong thing. The other dinners looked like they were all enjoyed but I did notice the gentleman across from me putting fork full scoops of salsa on his fish tacos. The waitress towards the end grumbled about her long working hours for the day so she wanted payments to be as easy as possible. Since I was seated at that end of the table I'm not sure if I was the only one that heard her grumbles. We were an easy group of diners that had not made many demands on her time. The best part of dinner, good company. Second best, good fresh salsa. After that I'm being generous with my rating based on others enjoying their dinners.

Lunch chorizo & chicken

Typical Mexican menu with lots of choices. The chips and salsa was delicious. Salsa had a great flavor, pretty mild but yummy. Had a late lunch and the service was quick and great. Waters were always being refilled, food came out quick! I got the chorizo & chicken lunch special and my friend got the shrimp tacos. Both were served with rice and beans, the rice has corn mixed in. Chorizo, chicken and cheese was yummy! Can't go wrong with that combo!

The people who waited on me were very nice. However, a few employees were loudly arguing in the background one woman in particular was yelling so loudly it was very awkward. It sounded like an argument over margaritas. Finally my food came everything was ok until I saw something weird on my plate. Upon further inspection I discovered it was a metal shaving. Yum.

Frida Sangria!

Friday night date with my hubby. We sat on the patio with the sun behind us and were quite comfortable. The Frida sangria was fruity and refreshing. Our server Marco brought plenty of lemons for Hubby's iced tea. (Always a good sign!) The salsa and chips here are really good. (After all, aren't chips just a vehicle with which to eat salsa?!) We split one of our favorite dishes, the Parillada, which has grilled chicken, beef, pork, onion, vegetables and a few shrimp, with some melted cheese on top. The dish is served with Mexican rice, a few tortillas and a cheese sauce on the side, and we added an extra order of rice. It was delicious as usual and enough food for both of us. Marco kept Hubby's tea filled and I had water after finishing the sangria. Definitely recommend Garcia's!

Steak Fajitas

I left Kentucky almost ten years ago. Today I was in town and could not pass up the chance to stop into Garcia's for lunch. They still have the best steak fajitas I have ever had.

Dropped in because our first choice was closed. This is our new first choice. Great food with a wide variety and fast, friendly service.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere…read more Our new "go to" for special occasions. Stacy is simply, The Best.

On a recent Saturday night, looking for a new fine dining restaurant, the Fat Man and his wife…read moreventured north to Georgetown to try Rodney's On Broadway. Rodney's is a genteel bar/eatery in a restored house with an upmarket seafood & steak menu, plus outdoor seating. For our opening course, we tried the Sea Divers Scallops. These were tandoori-rubbed and served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The scallops had a good sear and a slight crunch, with the tandoori rub offering a mild, earthy kick and a hint of chili powder flavor. The scallop was light and melted in your mouth. The Thai chili sauce added a sweet heat combo that complemented the scallops perfectly. We then shared the Lobster Bisque, which our server recommended. The bisque was very creamy, with a slightly thicker, velvety texture than typical bisques. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like it had cheese in it, which it did not. It had a salty, slightly paprika-spiced flavor, while the sherry added a slight nutty note. This was an excellent dish and worth the drive itself. For my main course, I ordered the Lamb Chops. They were char-grilled with roasted garlic mint demi-glace and the Potato de jur, which is smoked Gouda au gratin. My lamb was spot-on medium-rare; however, the char was a little hard and bitter, especially on the edges. This was present in most bites. The mint sauce added a touch of sweetness and depth to the meat's flavor. The potatoes were cooked through and offered a slight chew. The Gouda was creamy and nutty, pairing well with the potatoes, though it needed a bit more seasoning. My wife chose the Filet for her main course. She ordered it medium rare with Weisenberger white cheddar grits and green peppercorn cream sauce. Her grits were cooked well and not overdone; the cheddar was only topped on the dish and not melted into it, but it did offer a sharp bite. We both found them to be bland and in need of seasoning. The peppercorn sauce was creamy, with the onions adding texture, crunch, and a slight sweetness, while the peppercorns popped with flavor and mild heat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare; it melted in your mouth. However, the hard char on the edges added a heavy, bitter flavor to most bites. Rodney's menu features appetizers, soups, salads, prime beef selections, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. They offer a full bar with beer and soda selections. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will offer suggestions and advice. The Fat Man says that Rodney's on Broadway is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
