    Lunch!!!
    Dodd D.

Five days in a row... that's right five days back to back, every day. That is what I did this week at this new Mexican restaurant. So good. I literally love there tacos. They have that wonderful green sauce that taco bell use to have but decided to discontinue. El jaibos is located on the Bypass in Winchester in the old Grace Coffee location. They just opened a few weeks ago and they already have a loyal following from what I could gather while in the restaurant. I have dined in as well as carry out and the service has always been fast and friendly. The place is clean and also the food is so affordable. I should probably not eat there 6 days a week but at about 11am I start thinking el jaibo tacos. I highly recommend this based upon the food, cost and speed of service.

This place is everything we hoped for and more. We are from California and crave authentic Mexican food with real flavor. We love salsa and here you get 4 choices. Mild to wow!! Incredible!!! The service and staff A+ . Best hole in wall Mexican food in Kentucky. This will be our Friday Taco night date.

It is a small place in a weary commercial strip along the highway. Ordered online from our hotel a few blocks away and picked it up. It was ready early, we had set for 1830 and it was already waiting when I arrived at 1815...so it sat a bit. I believe that affected the overall quality of the meals. Not that anything was bad, I just think the steaming/resting affected the textures. I got a dinner combo (small burrito, tamale, enchilada) and wife got a burrito Felix, both meals included rice and refried beans. Overall, total was $30, a little steep for what we got, but in line with dining out prices these days.

This was our second stop while travelling through. Last time I had very good tacos al pastor…read more This time I changed up with tacos de carnitas. I am not a raw onion eater, so just have them with cilantro. There were excellent, served on lightly fried corn tortillas. The pork was shredded and was moist and flavorful. It was properly salted. They provide a tart tomatillo-avocado sauce and a red chile sauce. Both are good and I pretty much finished them off. This is a much better and more authentic place than the ubiquitous El Nopals or the nearby El Camino Real. Those are fine for what they are, but this is more like eating home-cooking. If I plan our trips properly, this is where we will eat for lunch and dinner going coming from St Louis to the OBX.
