I've never had a quesadilla at an authentic Mexican restaurant such as this, but they enjoyed it, I tried a bite and it was delicious too.

It is a small place in a weary commercial strip along the highway. Ordered online from our hotel a few blocks away and picked it up. It was ready early, we had set for 1830 and it was already waiting when I arrived at 1815...so it sat a bit. I believe that affected the overall quality of the meals. Not that anything was bad, I just think the steaming/resting affected the textures. I got a dinner combo (small burrito, tamale, enchilada) and wife got a burrito Felix, both meals included rice and refried beans. Overall, total was $30, a little steep for what we got, but in line with dining out prices these days.

I am not a raw onion eater, so just have them with cilantro. There were excellent, served on lightly fried corn tortillas. The pork was shredded and was moist and flavorful. It was properly salted. They provide a tart tomatillo-avocado sauce and a red chile sauce. Both are good and I pretty much finished them off. This is a much better and more authentic place than the ubiquitous El Nopals or the nearby El Camino Real. Those are fine for what they are, but this is more like eating home-cooking. If I plan our trips properly, this is where we will eat for lunch and dinner going coming from St Louis to the OBX.
