Whew this place pulls out all the stops for a fun, EXTRAVAGENT meal. This particular Barton G is located in South Beach and has a semi large indoor seating with out door seating. The indoor gives off a completely different feel then the indoor so be sure to put in your reservations what you would prefer. Indoor--more party/be seen, outdoor-more romantic/enjoying the southbeach vibe. Reservations strongly recommended because this place gets PACKED. The music is also a total vibe (hip hop) and I was a fan! Okay pricing is pricy but I can justify presentation is pretty spectacular! All the nitro drinks are $30 and up but they are show stopping beautiful. If you really don't care about a display regular cocktails are $20 and up. So all of the reviewers who are upset with how exoensive Barton G's is, we feel your pain! The atmosphere and ambiance is always a joy to experience here! We love the lushness of the tropical plants and trees! We always request the outdoors even before the pandemic hit. Our #1 reason to come here is to experience the Food Presentations! We have been to many restaurants but no one does it like Barton G's. The best!! So, we ordered drinks to start, of course. The Buddhalicious and the Sabrinatini were our picks for cocktails and wine for the 3rd person in our party. The popcorn shrimp were no better than Popeyes fried shrimp. Well I must say, Popeyes may have them beat in seasoning. Presentation was 10 out of 10. Let me cut to the chase here and then break it down later. Why 4 stars and not 5 stars? The price! I have been looking forward to coming to Barton G for years and I finally it here on Saturday night for dinner while in town on vacation. I knew in advance what to expect - a high price tag, see-and-be-seen atmosphere, and over the top presentation. My experience here was as expected, however it was still more expensive than I imagined, EVEN after seeing the menu. I ordered the pre fixe meal of $100 per person that offers an appetizer, entree, and dessert. This seemed like the best option considering the entrees alone cost over $50 and the desserts each cost $40. I ordered the Caesar salad, Bougee pasta (seafood pasta), and the Carnival dessert. The presentation of all of it cracked me up! I loved it! This place is so extra and I'm here for it! What I wasn't prepared for was the fact that my food was excellent! The pasta had large portions of fresh seafood, and the flavor was great. My salad was also good. The dessert was basic carnival fare including a lot of funnel cakes, chocolate ice cream, fried oreos, fried snickers on a stick made to look like corn dogs (how clever), and a cute assortment of dipping sauces. I also ordered two Manhattans. They were each $29. Hoy Vey! I knew they would be high, but not that high. I should've known considering how high everything else that's listed is here. The signature cocktails here are all around $35 and have liquid nitrogen to add to the presentation. I felt like that was too gimmicky for a gamble on a good drink, so I opted for a cocktail that I like. My drinks were good, but I should've skipped the second simply because of the price. So here's my gripe...As I mentioned, I ordered the pre fixe meal. In the fine print on this item in the menu, it states that there's a 15% Service Fee added to the bill for this item. I, like most other people, would take this to mean "oh, that's the gratuity." WRONG! When I got my bill, I had one line item for that service fee and then ANOTHER line item for gratuity for 18%! WTH?! Now don't get me wrong, the service was great. I was pleased with the service, and honestly was kind of surprised that they charged 18% instead of 20%. Thank you, I'm not complaining. My table was only one person so I found it interesting that they included the gratuity on the check. The service fee with the gratuity tacked onto the bill was a bit off-putting, but I still can't deny that I enjoyed my experience and I would still come back. read more

The portion size is not very big ....and not all the dishes we had were to rave about.....the appetizers outside of the presentation are simply ok...something you could get at your local Applebee's......out of the 3 main dishes in my party.....the red snapper was the best. ..it was seasoned and fried perfectly but served with lumpy box mash potatoes......the seafood pasta bowl looks huge however the portion was fairly small and while it did have seafood...it did not have the lobster or crab meat that it claimed to have.....and the beef short rib .. was not as expected....it tasted like pot roast cooked in a crock pot......it was very tender.....also paired with a smear of box mash potatoes...... I enjoyed dessert the most the Dollar Dollar bill....now this was very rich and tasty...it was the quality I expected from this establishment.... I reserved a table in a Cabana for myself and 9 other people. Our server came over took our orders and answered questions.... i have a problem with that!!!! He should have been more engaging with 10 people who just told him that none of them have eaten there before!!!! He could have delivered important details about the menu. I had to ask him did he want to explain anything about the menu to us....tell us about the history of the restaurant... do they have specials.... Sell us on this place! I requested another side instead and I was brought mashed potatoes as the kitchen was closing. I also shared the truffle lobster mac...no regrets with this dish. If I could give this restaurant more than five stars I would. This has been my wife's favorite restaurant for a few years now. Since she's discovered it we've flown from Louisville Ky to Miami, just for Barton G's. We only stay one night, eat and leave. It's that good. Our last visit was one of my best dining experiences I've ever had. I had the Piri Pirishoo Chicken skewers along with the Lobster Mac and Cheese. The skewers captivated my taste buds while the Lobster Mac and Cheese hypnotized my mouth. Cocktails, my wife tried the Money Talks, which has Vodca, Tequila, Rum, and Tripple Sec; needless to say one drink was all that was needed. My drink always is a Lemon Drop Martini, this one was different. It was the best I've ever had in my life. I stopped mid meal to go to the bar to thank the bar tender and tell her so. If you're looking for somewhere to have fine dining, this is the place to go. The location has valet and side street parking available. I would recommend to sit outside for a intimate night. The lights above along with the trees around give it a nice "paradise" feel. The drinks and appetizers are all themed giving them almost a story to tell. The presentation does take up room on the table but it's a fun experience. Keep your drinks on the platform if you don't want the server taking it away. Lol. The table shared an appetizer: The Launching Bird Shrimp, which was really good! Then we moved to our entrees: Shell Shocked BBQ Short Ribs and Truffled Lobster Mac and Cheese! All of the food was good, and great portion sizes! We had so much food to take back to the hotel! Of course we couldn't leave without trying the Marie Antoinette Cotton Candy! We only ate a pinch of this huge cotton candy head, so the rest was bagged up to go. My only complaint was literally by the time we arrived back to the hotel, the cotton candy was so hard and we could not even eat or enjoy it. This place definitely lived up to the hype. We came for a birthday and set our reservation for 5pm which is right when they open. We were glad that we picked that time. We were one of the first reservations of the night and were able to see the restaurant come alive once more people came. I ordered the lobster pop tarts for an appetizer. They were amazing. The crust was super flaky and the lobster was fresh. I almost wanted to get another order of those instead of an entre. My friend order a drink which she said was very well made. For an entre, I ordered a modified version of the special which was lobster and steak. Instead I only got the lobster tail which came with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus. My friend got the boug e pasta. Both were really flavorful and the presentation was amazing. Its a real show. Lots of lights and whistles all around the restaurant. The portions are huge and neither one of us could finish our food. We both agreed that next time we'll share an entre that way we have room for dessert. There is a fee to share an entree. The music was great and adds to the atmosphere. We were visiting so we ubered but they do have valet. The only cons were that the menu is a bit small. There aren't a ton of options. Also, they dont offer any free desserts for a birthday. We expected a scoop of ice cream, a cupcake or something but they dont offer that. Look, I went on Valentine's Day and this place was a disaster. This was my 3rd time patronizing the Barton G chain, twice here in Miami and once in LA, never made it to my local Chicago location when it was open. Here's the deal, I went through the proper channels by properly scheduling a reservation, confirming and even arrived on time. The check in process was chaotic, it was filled with angry diners who had been there for 30 minutes to 1 hr waiting for their prescheduled reservations. When I walked up, I knew it would be a disaster if the people ahead of me were experiencing long wait times. While checking in periodically, we were dismissed by the hostess several times and pushed away with the rationalization that "they are seating people as they arrive". WHAT!!! What's the purpose of a reservation if you as a business don't have your customers adhere to your table time policy, OF COURSE IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A SNOWBALL EFFECT. Complete mismanagement of time and organization, on a day like Valentine's in such a prestigious establishment such a Barton G was a major a disappointment! After about 30-40 minutes with absolutely no compensation from Management, we were finally seated. :( The is valet. There is extremely tight indoor seating, thankfully everyone was kind about minor bumps here in there. There is outdoor seating as well. The server was amazing as well. Price point was cool. Music was great, kudos to the DJ/playlist. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT and all of the gimmicks won't disappoint! To anyone planning to come here, especially on a big holiday, expect delays and don't plan anything afterwards you might be here a while. read more

Amazing!!! It was my first time here to celebrate my birthday and I had a great time! We had made reservations so as soon as we got here, we were seated right away. However we came on a Friday and the place was packed. I feel like there was no social distancing as the tables were so close together. I believe there's street parking, but valet would be the most ideal way to get your car parked All the food presentations were so over the top that everything was picture worthy. However, they do take away the presentations after a couple minutes on the table. Barton G is good for the experience, but the check can add up. Totally worth it though! For drinks, we had ordered the Barton Genie, Diamonds are Forever, and Buddhalicious. They all came with a nitro popsicle as an extra shot. Also, it came smoking to our table as they used liquid nitrogen. Each drinks were more that $30 though, so it's pretty expensive. For food, we ordered the Laughing Bird Popcorn Shrimp. It came in a big popcorn machine and with popcorn along side the shrimp. As for entree, the Shell Shocked BBQ Shortribs melts in your mouth! So good! The Center Cut Filet was also good and had it with a side of BG Creamy Whipped Potatoes. The highlight of my night was the dessert! We had the Dolla Dolla Bills Y'all!!! It came with chocolate ganache and dolce de leche tart under a gold brick shell that they had to use the fire torch to get through the goodies. It also came with vanilla ice cream and gold popcorn! I have had my eye on Barton G for years but it's pricey so had never went when visiting Miami. We finally checked it out and the presentations did not disappoint. It is grand! However; the food itself was a little disappointing. The popcorn with the popcorn shrimp was stale and the shrimp a bit chewy. The short rib was good but for the $45 price tag it was a small portion of everything. The pasta was great and a huge portion. There was no way I could eat it all. Even with help. The dessert was HUGE, definitely made for sharing. A chocolate lovers dream. Barton G's is an experience. Not one that I could afford to do often but it was fun. read more

This place honestly USED to be one of my favorite restaurants. I used to recommend this place to everyone either wanting to celebrate their birthday, anniversary, visiting Miami or even just a nice date night, not anymore. For starters, the quality of food went down DRASTICALLY & the portions have shrunken in size. After raving to my boyfriend about this place for so long I decided to finally take him for his birthday. Upon entry we were greeted & seated, cool. The first thing my boyfriend said was this place is a bit louder than he thought. In the past, I remember it being a more intimate date night spot but I could be wrong considering it's been years since I visited this place. For our appetizer, my boyfriend wanted the Laughing Bird Popcorn Shrimp so that's what we ordered. It was ok, but I wasn't expecting much so it was ok, I guess. What annoyed me most about this meal was while me and my boyfriend were STILL eating a random waiter kept coming to our table trying to take the prop away from us with food still in it, which I thought was VERY RUDE! I could understand if we were done with it, but while we are still eating...REALLY?! Learn some fine dining etiquette, please. For our entrees, I ordered the Samurai Salmon. It was disgusting. My salmon was overcooked even with the glaze it was dry, the rice was pretty good and the salad was yea... My boyfriend ordered the Boo G. Pasta, he asked for no lobster, and of course guess what came...Larry The Lobster himself. Thankfully, for us his allergies aren't bad & he checks his food before eating so he was able to pick it out. Overall, my boyfriend said he would give them another try just because he enjoyed watching the different props come out of the kitchen, he felt it was a nice touch of extravagance for a celebration. I was really happy that at least something made him happy, but I wish they made his birthday feel special. After our evening, he decided to skip dessert just because he was fed up with the prior activities. It was a bit disappointing because that was our main reason for coming so I knew the night didn't go as planned. I at least convinced him to get a nice glass of a dessert wine for dessert and they were very good. It was a really nice pour compliments to the bartender. In the end, this place is a really unique gem, personally I wouldn't give them another chance just because the quality of food went down, now it feels like you are really paying for the ambiance and food props. read more

The only thing I would offer criticism on is it felt rushed. Everything came out super fast, and not in a good way. It feels a bit like they are trying to pump as many people through as possible, which I guess I can understand because the place is insane and amazing! So with one negative observation out of the way, now the good. The presentation - its so crazy, over the top, imaginative, it's amazing! Every drink and dish come out with so much fanfare, you keep looking around at other tables. The food - my fear that presentation overshadows the flavors was unfounded. Each dish was delicious! Flavorful. The service - top notch. I admire their attitude working with these crazy props for each dish, everyone was super nice and helpful. Final bill didn't break the bank. I highly recommend this if you're in Miami, it's an experience! Definitely make reservations ahead of time though. read more
