This was my first time at this awesome venue. It is a real gem in the heart of Miami Beach. I had a "work" event tonight and am glad I had the opportunity to check this place out. I had never heard of The Temple House before yesterday. Where have I been? Lol I looked at their website before tonight's event and was very impressed with the photos of previous events at this venue. A man with white gloves opened the doors for us. The food was delicious. I met a guy who said he has been to two weddings here and they were both awesome. This is a great space and very large. You could configure the space however you want. It sounds like they really work with you for your unique needs. Their sound system is amazing. They even had tacos for us when we left!! This place is super fun and hip. If you are ever invited to an event here, I cannot see where you would have a bad time. read more

To be honest, I would never have known this place existed had I not attend a private event here. The exterior is the same lovely art deco style as most of the beach, so it is easy to bypass thinking it is just another apartment building. In fact my guess is that this building was precisely that at some point in time, before being converted into an event venue. Parking is zoned accordingly, meaning it is a residential only area. If you're there for an event with valet available, you can leave your car in front, otherwise expect a short walk from Lincoln or a garage. Personally, I suggest the public garage behind the police department on 12th and Washington if nothing else is available closer. The interior is quite large, allowing those hosting a virtual blank canvas to create whatever they want. It is clean and modern, with high ceilings. My biggest grievance with the space would have to be the restrooms. As lovely and chic as they may be, one stall each for men and women can mean quite a line, especially if you're attending an event with freely flowing libations. Just something to consider if you're going to plan a large event here. I cannot vouch for how easy it is to reserve yourself since I've never hosted there, but I can speak from experience that it makes for a unique venue great for everything from corporate dinners to art shows. read more

Visited The Temple House for a Lexus Pandora Pop Up Concert with Passion Pit on Thursday night. It was a free concert with complementary drinks and some free swag. Quality I honestly did not even know The Temple House existed and probably still wouldn't if not for the event. The venue seems more likely to be used as a place for wedding receptions or medium to large sized parties. It definitely was a unique venue as it has the look of a hollowed out synagogue. Quantity They kept the event smaller than it could have been. The space is big and has both a main level as well as some space on a balcony. It works for medium to large parties without a problem. Value I can't complain about a free concert, especially one with a very well known musician. Throw in complimentary drinks and you have a great night. Ambiance The Temple House is situated on Miami Beach about a block away from Flamingo Park. It is a very cool looking building from the outside. It looks like a religious building merged with art deco into what could very well be a chic apartment complex or hotel. Inside like the outside is done all in white, which with the correct lighting makes the inside absolutely pop. The walls work as perfect projectors and the event planners did well shining purple and blue to make it feel almost winter and snow-like. The venue has a large main floor as well as a good sized balcony above that served as a VIP area. They set up a good sized stage at the front and a bar right in the middle of the floor. The acoustics were solid, but they never really tested the volume as it stayed pretty quiet for a concert. The only real issue was the lack of bathrooms. They had several single bathrooms, but for an event this size, it meant a constant line, even for the mens room. That may seem like a minor detail, but theres nothing more frustrating than missing a concert because they don't have a few urinals. Crowd A free concert can draw in all sorts of people, and that was definitely the case here. Even though I believe Passion Pit is pretty well known, most people had no idea who he was, they just heard free event. In typical Miami fashion everyone dressed how they wished, some in beachwear, others in suits and dresses. The crowd did seem to have a overall hipster vibe though. Service The organizers of the event were great as were all the bartenders and workers. They put on a tremendous show and a fun event. Parking They had a valet set up in front for the event, but you could definitely have found street parking nearby. I personally hate trying to decipher the signs so I parked in a deck a few blocks away by Lincoln Road. Extra The Temple House is definitely an interesting venue, definitely one more set up for weddings than concerts. The all white exterior and interior make it pop and set it up for awesome lighting and projections. They definitely need to do something about the bathroom situation for larger parties though. read more

I went to this place to attend a wine tasting event, but I wasn't an organizer, so I can't comment on how the owner and management is. All I can say is that the place is beautiful inside with a modern, white-washed look. Nice clean restroom (though I can't imagine handling a crowd over 100). There was valet up front, but my husband preferred not to valet our car, and we had to drive around a bit for parking. Most street parking nearby are residential. I suppose you can park at Lincoln Road Mall, which is not too far (though of course you are likely to be dressed up and not wanting to walk). read more

Beautiful venue, but the owner is a total douche. The owner spent the entire length of time during the event driving everyone crazy about noise ordinances, furniture movement, the air conditioner (which was off for hours upon hours so everyone was sweating to death) and a list of other ridiculous things. Half the things that were promised in the package for this venue were not seen through. For the amount the venue cost, take your money elsewhere. Your dishing out major cash for a blank slate that only allows a max of 300 people. Think twice, Miami's got tons of more amazing and worthwhile venues and people who actually want to make sure your event goes well. Good luck! read more

As an event marketer I work day in and day out with a variety of venues all over the country and I must say Miami is not my favorite place to conduct business but my recent experience at the Temple House was surprisingly easy and overall very pleasurable. I happened across a lousy review of the Temple House and I have to respond because my experience was entirely different. We had a great time in a great venue. The place was a wonderful canvas for my event and we used it to its fullest. The people who worked at the Temple House, the owner and his beautiful assistant could not have been more delightful nor more helpful in getting our event together and pulling the whole event off without a hitch. I was surprised about the complaint about the AC. I thought the place was nice and cool, even cold, the whole time.
