Great place for cocktails & pizza! The ambience is dark and super cozy, great for an evening out with close friends or even a date. My sisters and I sat at the bar since seating is kind of limited and received service and drinks from Domingo. Pizza is great but the service is less than zero. The servers are incompetent and lack basic customer service. It's as if you are in a banana republic. Servers have little to no etiquette. Had the absolute worst time here. The waitress named Isabel P. was a total snob with no manners. She was bringing us our check while we were still eating. Giving us dirty looks the whole time. Happy hour after work ? Yes, yes and yesss one of the places on the beach with a later happy hour, I believe it ends at 7pm; giving me time to enjoy wine time! Tonight we were on a mission for pizza. Showed up to Lucali at 7pm, not expecting a wait. You're probably thinking - really you expected no wait, it's Lucali. I know I know. Well, we were told it would be a 30 minute wait for a table for two. But... we could grab drinks next door at Bay Club while we wait. Much to our surprise (and a very wonderful one at that) we were given a dinner menu. We had our heart set on the kale caesar and a pizza. Lucky us!!! We could order these very item at Bay Club with no wait at all. Within minutes of ordering we got our salad. Delicious as always. And perfect timing as we finished out salads we got our pizza. Went with a simple cheese pizza, which was great!! And at Bay Club it's a personal size 12" pizza which was the most perfect size for sharing. We were in and out within 30 minutes (yes - that's shorter than our expected wait for Lucali). Plus we watch a little Sunday football and enjoyed the very relaxed vibe. Food Pizza - Pepperoni w/ Basil & Garlic 4/5 - This place is based out of New York so you can tell that it has that style to the way it's cooked. Really tasty and just enough in size. I was really glad I went here instead, because it'd be a mission to eat a 20" pizza by myself. I would've liked for the pizza to have a little more seasoning in the sauce, but the added basil and garlic really did help. Artichoke Hearts Special 3.5/5 - Artichokes cooked whole with marinara and cheese. If you're a fan of artichokes, I think you'd think this dish was pretty decent. Not too bad, but also, not the best way to highlight artichokes I believe. If you pair this with your pizza, it adds on to be a very tasty combination. Happy Hour Food - Wings & Meatballs 3/5 - Your run of the mill, seems like out of the freezer, wings and meatballs. Prepared with a little more care than just out of the freezer but nothing amazing. It'll help hold you over if you're starving and want a small bite before your food comes out. Jai Alai IPA - 4/5 - Not too hoppy, not too bitter. A really mellow beer if you're just looking for something to sip on while chillin. All in all, I'd come back for the pizza, but that's about it. It's a tiny cocktail bar, dark, but with some comfy furniture including two old school antique chairs that we were lucky enough to snag. The music is a sort of a rotation of multiple genres, and I did like the fact that they squeezed in a bit of jazz. While I was a bit on the fence regarding the cocktails on the menu, especially as a bourbon guy, who loves a good, stiff, bourbon or whiskey based drink, I ask the bartender if he could make a Vieux Carre, and indeed he knew the drink and delivered an outstanding, well balanced and deliciously boozy cocktail! My friend and I ordered vodka sodas and were charged $16 per drink. The normal cocktail is $14 per drink and has Ketel One, mixer, and garnish. We didn't feel we got our money's worth in service or drink quality. An extra $2 was added to each vodka soda for being "on the rocks". I had yet to find a chill spot to enjoy a karaoke night on a couch with a killer craft cocktail before I met Bay Club thanks to a girls bach weekend. The vibes here are casual yet cool with dimmed lighting, plush seating and an outdoor patio. The service? Outstanding. We didn't have to shimmy our way to the bar once as our kind waitress took care of us all night with pizza, lots of water refills, and all the knowledge of the drinks for our q's. The Hotbox drink is without a doubt on of the best balanced spicy drinks I've had the pleasure of imbibing. Usually, I like to try a couple different cocktails but I stood firm in knowing I wouldn't enjoy anything a much as it all night. The karaoke setup was like it would be in a living room. Before enjoying dinner at Lucali on a Wednesday night, decided to stop into Bay Club for a quick drink. Even though they had an abbreviated Lucali food menu, we decided to wait to eat and just grab a drink. I had a beer and shared a Hot Box cocktail with my girlfriend. Quality We were just looking for a quick drink before our meal and Bay Club played its role perfectly. They had several different specialty cocktails, a few beers, and a couple wines on the menu. Bay Club really just feels like overflow space for Lucali and makes for a place for just a single drink. The beer was standard and the Hot Box cocktail was fine. The Hot Box used mezcal, hot bitters, passion fruit, ginger, cucumber, and lime, and did have some kick, which I did appreciate. But it lacked the same inventiveness as other more sophisticated cocktail bars. Quantity Both the beer and the cocktail were fair sized, I believe the beer was poured out of a bottle so no real surprises. Value It turned out it was happy hour when we were there, which made the drink prices much more reasonable. The beer came to $5 and the cocktail was $12, both decent prices, especially when you are just trying to buy time until you are seated at Lucali. Ambiance Bay Club is a small cocktail bar located in the Sunset Harbor area of Miami Beach. It is located adjacent to Lucali and there is even a weird shared wall that connects the two. They operate together so that if you feel like food at Bay Club you can order off Lucali's menu and the booze at Lucali comes from Bay Club. It is a good setup especially if you are looking for Lucali when it is busy and unwilling to wait. Bay Club is a relatively small space with a bar when you enter on the left and then a few tables and chairs on the right. It is dimly lit and follows an almost basement feel with exposed brick and old furniture. However, the focus seemed on the huge television that was playing From Dusk Till Dawn in its entirety. They also have a few benches outside for smokers or for nice days. Also, important is they are fine with you carrying your drink over to Lucali if you are not finished when your table is ready. In the end Bay Club is a nice waiting area. Crowd The bar was pretty empty, with just a few folks who were either unwilling to wait for a table or those who wanted a drink while they waited. It seems pretty obvious Lucali needed an option to prevent people turning away due to long waits. Service The bartender was very nice, but it seemed there were way more people than needed working on a Wednesday night. I'm not sure if they just share staff with next door, but at least three people greeted us in the few steps from the entry to the bar. Parking Just a few steps down from the bar is a parking garage that is extremely affordable. Street parking is also pretty easy in the area, but it also is about four times as expensive. Extra It is impossible to talk about Bay Club without mentioning Lucali. It really acts as the bar area for Lucali, even going so far as offering food from their menu. And while it is a comfortable space to relax and wait, it lacks creativity in its cocktails and offers a very limited beer and wine selection, which is disappointing. I really couldn't imagine stopping in again except on a visit to Lucali, luckily Lucali is pretty delicious and draws large crowds. read more

Unofficially opened and part of Lucali, this local's hidden spot is a welcoming prohibition-era bar to the hood and something reminiscent of what I'd find in Brooklyn, Chi-town or Yvr. Not surprisingly, the original Lucali is actually located in Carrol Gardens and these guys know what they are doing! Brian, the friendly, proud, hipster proprietor was all too happy to serve us up a mixed cocktail of whatever we wanted, and it was just the place to stop for a drink after a wonderful tasting meal at Pubbelly. If only we hadn't been so full! Enjoyed the decor, the atmo/ and the silver screen movies being played on the huge flat screen tv in the background. So maybe it's meant to cater to the locals but since this is a popular genre of bar in some of my fave cities, I'm happy to be the ftr! *Note* It's still new and working out the kinks and does not officially open until the new year. I have been waiting for a place like this for ages. The rebirth of Sunset Harbor has given locals a number of great restaurant options but where the hell do you go if you want a drink? 1930. I came with my girlfriend after we had dinner at a restaurant around the corner. Interesting cocktail menu with a number of homemade infusions. We ordered the Honey Peanut Old Fashioned and an Opening Day. Both awesome. Our bartender, Brian, was friendly and knowledgeable (without being douchey like a lot of cocktail bartenders). Actually that might be my favorite thing about this place. There was ZERO attitude from the bar. about halfway though our visit there, a group of girls came in and asked a million questions about the menu before ordering vodka sodas w/ extra lime. Not a flinch. Same great service regardless of what your order. He even made us some off menu cocktails based on our taste preferences. Great drinks, great service, zero attitude? New favorite bar. I'm a fan. We came when it was raining, it looked like a ghost town outside. Inside people were relaxing and chatting away. Full of candles and decorated with old-time regal decor, Bay Club provides a small but not cramped lounge style bar. It's bit off the beaten path which adds to the feeling of exclusivity, almost as if you were invited upstairs from a busy bar. I'd say its low key but nice enough that you can come from something more formal without changing. The couches and booths are leather or red velvet. The bar is a little light on selection but it shouldn't limit anyone of draining a few cocktails with friends. I hopefully the food here is as good as the drinks. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open when we arrived. Nooo big deal. The bartenders and their attentive service convinced us to come back and try out the menu. read more

I went here after having dinner at their restaurant, Lucali, next door. We went through the "secret" door that connects the two restaurants which was kind of cool except that it's not really a secret when the other entrance is a huge opening to the street. This quasi-speakeasy's craft-cocktails were really good and on par with those of the Broken Shaker's. Also, about the same price $13-ish. The place was empty (I think it only recently opened) when we went in and that left us feeling like this is a secret spot that no body knows about. Probably won't last long in this neighborhood but I'll try to enjoy it while it lasts. My boyfriend's Honey Nut Old Fashioned was probably the best drink I tasted. I can't remember the other drinks (bad, yelper, bad!) but I know I liked them! We sat outside on the picnic bench and it was a great spot to take in Sunset Harbour people watching. I come on vacation to Miami few times a year and I will confidently say this is the best cocktail bar I've been to so far in Miami. The drinks were specially crafted per all of our personal tastes. I told the mixologist that I like Old fashioneds (not the one off the menu), he used smoked orange bitters, toasted orange peel, mixed together a cherry and few sprigs of mint & basil, mixed with an herb infused whiskey. I will say it's still the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. My friends enjoyed their drinks a lot and each were made with the same level of detail. Came in a few nights ago for happy hour as this is one of our regular neighborhood spots. All the food and service was fantastic. The drink specials are fine, although I wished more beer options. In any case when we came in we were told that the happy hour wings and meatballs were no longer available for happy hour even though it was 6:30pm and happy hour lasts until 8. We were offered to purchase them though if we wanted. I just think that if the deal is comp wings and meatballs they should be available as advertised.
