We have have mixed feelings about this restaurant as we had one bad visit out of four total. Tonight helped restore our faith in this establishment. We visited here for half price Calzone's (every Thursday dinner) and were treated to some tasty food and great service thanks to "April." The calzone was so large, the two of us were able to split it and leave room for dessert. Their home made chips and French onion dip we started with are worth the trip alone, and the drinks were fairly priced. We did not enjoy the cannoli; the shell was not sweet enough - but the filling was good. Yet, we will definitely return and try some new dishes again next time! read more

I just received an order from catering for my birthday. We ordered fried chicken and Vesuvio potatoes. The chicken was delicious but the potatoes were terrible. I called the manager to see what he would do,but he did nothing. He didn't offer me anything. I'm very disappointed. We threw them out. $40. First visit there, we had spaghetti with meatballs and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Both were good size portions and both were tasty and good. Came with a salad and garlic bread, salad was OK, bread was dry and seemed barely seasoned. Good for dipping in the sauce. I would come back again, but one problem occurred with the bill, and I should have checked it closer when I signed it, was that instead of being charged for a glass of beer, they charged me for a pitcher. So I went back in and they straitened it out and took off for the glass of beer I did have. Just will go over the bill thoroughly next time. read more

We saw the Triple D episode in which Guy raved about the meatballs After that my son said that the next time we were in Chicago we're going have to stop. When we booked our Spring Break vacation and decided to fly out of Chicago, we said that we would have to stop at Bartolini's on the way. The meatballs were fantastic and so were the beer nuggets. This place is great. Found it on yelp searching for places to eat, came on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the 1/2 priced pizza. Now I'm hooked. Beer nuggets are an excellent starter. one order is good for 2-3 people, I could eat them as a meal. Pizza here is awesome. I believe it's the best I have ever had. Took extra home, still great! Been here before and love the place, the service and the atmosphere. I would mostly order the pasta or the Caesar salad , both of which are always fresh and delicious. Went this past Thursday I wanted a decent Italian beef sandwich, WOW!!! The beef was tender and sooooo flavorful, the sandwich was huge. I have had sandwiches half The size for the same price. Went to a birthday party here recently. Like the remodel inside. We had pizza, mostacoili, garlic bread sticks, & salad. Everything was delicious! Plenty of food, although there was a slight delay in waiting for 2nd batch of pizzas to come. I also ordered some meatballs & gravy/sauce to bring home. Outstanding! We (family of 4)decided to eat here after reading reviews on yelp. We were not disappointed. We tried the beer nuggets because our waitress recommended them. They were amazing! My daughter ordered the chicken fingers, my son the spaghetti and meatballs, my husband the chicken parmigiana and I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. A decently good restaurant. Might go again. Pros: Location, ambiance of restaurant, friendly and prompt service, HUGE servings! Cons: Less than stellar food Ordered the mozzarella stick appetizer with alfredo spaghetti and grilled chicken as main. Mozzarella sticks were nice and hot, crispy on the outside and gooey inside, great with the marinara sauce (which the menu for some reason calls "gravy") Unfortunately the alfredo did not live up to the opening appetizer. Alfredo sauce was so bland as to be tasteless, and the "spaghetti" was actually extremely thin angel hair; it was more of an alfredo soup than a pasta. The grilled chicken part did not taste grilled,and parts of gristle/fat were included. It was good once salt, pepper, and parmesean were added, by myself using the condiments at the table, and I ate it on the garlic bread for that extra flavor/heartiness, due to the thinness of the angelhair. And as mentioned above, the servings were HUGE! I had enough extra for two days meals. In all, I might give this restaurant once more chance, to see if that was just an off-day, seeing as how close it is! read more

The Pizza Pia is delicious, and so are the beer nuggets. Unfortunately, that's about all the good I can say. I want to love this place, but the salad that came with my meal was abnormally small (we thought it may have been a joke!) And my pasta (angel hair with garlic oil, basil, pesto, and shrimp) may have honestly been one of the most bland dishes I've ever tasted. There was no seasoning, so I used what was provided at the table to try to pep it up, but there was nothing I could do about the shrimp that were much cooler than my pasta and watery. They are usually extremely good, but the last time I went was for Mother's Day last year. We ordered pizza and the cheese was different. It wasn't what I was use to. The cheese was very watered down and had no flavor. I will never go there for Pizza again. The chicken Parmesan sandwich and meatball sandwich is delicious. On Sunday, a week ago, my family of 5 enjoyed a fabulous meal at Bartolini's - delicious food, generous portions, and excellent service! The staff went above and beyond helping me look for something precious I lost. The manager called me back within 5 minutes of my first phone call. He was so kind and personable. I was comforted to know the stafff would search the parking lot then and also search again after the restaurant closed, if needed. I found my treasure in the car the next day and the staff was very very compassionate when I called with the good news. I look forward to many future meals here! read more
